Hey I apologise if this has been posted before, but I did a search and didnt come up with anything. Well Alanis is going to re-record JLP with Glenn Ballard, release a Greatest Hits album and begin recording a new album this year. We will hear new material this year. This is really exciting news...and I hope she gets a bit more attention than she did with SCC. Here is the relevant billboard article. www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000827178

Oh I didn't think she was re-recording JLP.. isn't it supposed to be a re-release only? Anyway, I'm looking forward to the Greatest Hits album.

She is re-recording the songs with him, but they will all be acoustic. It was announced the other day on billboard.com

So.. does it mean the re-issue of JLP will be a double album?

From everything that I have read...I do not think so.ย Although that would be really awesome.ย There will be new artwork and unreleased video footage. It will be released at starbucks in the US in June and everywhere else in July.ย She also plans to tour acoustically over the summer.ย It is all in the article...here: www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000827178

That could be a good thing. It could be like a studio version of what is heard on an episode of MTV Unplugged. I can't hardly wait! I loved the original release of the album Jagged Little Pill, so this could be great too.
It's so hard to believe it's been 10 years since that record came out!

It should be really interesting to see how they re-invent this album. It's one of my all-time faves.

I'm a big fan of hers, but can't say I'm excited about her re-doing the songs from JLP. I'd rather have a new album.
I hope the greatest hits has a few new cuts.

There already is a post on this album.
Can anyone find it?

I read an interview from last month that said she was re-recording an acoustic 'Jagged Little Pill' and while that sounds exciting (I'd love to hear how she does 'Wake Up' and 'All I Really Want' and others), we already have a taste of a few of the songs from the MTV Unplugged CD so I hope they are of a different style. I'm really looking forward to her Greatest Hits CD. I wonder what they will put on it?

I find it very odd, yet very smart that they are releasing the album at Starbucks first and THEN releasing it to the public.
With the numerous Starbucks locations throughout the US, it will definitely give her exposure to the general public who may have forgotten about her since the JLP days. What better way to get re-acquainted than with a re-release of the album and promotion at one of the largest chains in the world?
I know I'll be at my local (hour away) Starbucks on June 13 to get this! I hope to catch her in concert too. I LOVE Alanis acoustic. Her music has such a pure quality to it when it's just her and the guitar.

I wonder when Canada will get it? There's supposed to be extra stuff with the CD too.
I think the acoustic CD itself is a great idea but the starbucks thing in itself seems too cheap and desperate.

Does anyone know if the CD will be sold in starbucks in Canada too during that primary six weeks?

This is such a boring and lame release. I'm not buying it at all, it will ruin all the Jagged magic.

OMFG. That is a fucking amazing cover! I love how it emulates the original.
Oh, totally random - But I'm seeing Alanis in concert tomorrow. And I am way too frigging hyper about it.

Gorgeous. I love the acoustic guitar at the bottom. Although... I do hope Alanis experimented with the songs. If they're just straight-forward acoustic versions, well... I might as well just stick to the ones I already have, from MTV Unplugged etc.

The Cd was first rumoured to be re-recorded in the studio with a new sound I think sometime last year. I hope the songs sound different than MTV Unplugged. I hope it comes with music videos and stuff!

The cover is hot! The album will definitely be different. I'll give it a try before I form an opinion on it.
By the way, will any of the re-done songs be released as singles to radio?

Guys, the album is FOR SURE totally different from the original. Alanis has said so herself. I know for that Hand In My Pocket is completely changed and is slower and has a totally different feel to it.

It's a 10 year anniversary edition. I certainly don't see the point in RE-releasing one of the best selling albums of all time. Anyone who wanted it more than likely has it by now. That is also the reason Alanis gave on releasing it acoustically. This is a way to "tip the hat" to the album that made Alanis a household name. I think it's a great idea. I'd rather have this than a re-packaged JLP...
