Wooo! Says her new album is nearly finished with a tour in February! That means an album by the Fall, maybe even late Summer!

May 25, 2:09 PM EDT Sheryl Crow Has a New Man in Her Life
NEW YORK (AP) -- Sheryl Crow says she thinks her infant son, Wyatt, will be the first in a "whole troop" of children in her life.
"I've always wanted to adopt. Even if I'd had my own kids, I would have adopted," she tells OK! magazine in its latest issue, now on newsstands. "I love the idea of adopting. I always thought I had an immense amount of love to give."
Wyatt Steven Crow was born April 29. "I flew to where he was, which was in another state, and I took him home a day later. He was 1 day old," the Los Angeles-based singer-guitarist says.
"I went through the proper channels and did it just like everybody else does it," she says. "They don't put you at the front of the line just because you're a rock star."
Mother and son are featured on the cover and inside the pages of OK!
A representative for the magazine wouldn't disclose the terms of the deal for the photo shoot to The Associated Press. But Crow, in a posting Thursday on her Web site, said she agreed to do the photos after OK! offered to make a "generous donation" to the World Food Program, a United Nations organization that works to fight child hunger.
The WFP says it plans to use the proceeds to help feed schoolchildren in the poverty-stricken southern Africa country of Lesotho.
Did Crow want a boy?
"I did not care," she tells OK! "I did not care about what nationality. I do believe, and it may sound wacky, that souls pick their surroundings. I feel like Wyatt was on his way, one way or the other."
Crow, 45, underwent breast cancer surgery in February 2006, the same month that she and cycling champ Lance Armstrong announced they had broken off their engagement.
She calls Wyatt her "main man."
"I'm very happy where I am and don't feel any pressure to get married," she says. "Wyatt is going to be the gatekeeper! There won't be anybody coming between Wyatt and mom."
Will her son have siblings?
"Definitely, a whole troop! I love kids. I can definitely see myself adopting more kids," she says.

I don't know what Sheryl could do that would impress me with a new album. Like Shania, I feel that she's really done everything she could. I don't think I'd want anything acoustic from her, maybe something more rocky or something country flavoured, which could work coming from Sheryl.
I'd get the new album though. I want to support her! She's still awesome!

See, I think Sheryl hasn't given us her best work yet. So far, it's The Globe Sessions. But I really think that she is going to make a darker sounding album with orchestral flourishes, heavy on acoustic guitar, and more of a classic rock feel. It may not be this next album.. it may not even be the album after that. But I think the political approach Sheryl has been taking lately is really going to effect her songwriting and production. Not to mention, a huge break up and a new son? Yeah, Sheryl has lots of song fodder and I think she'll surprise people.

I think The Globe Sessions is a classic. It's just an amazing album that will hardly be surpassed. But I still look foward to new Sheryl, as long as she writes good stuff and not crappy shit like C'mon C'mon...

Sheryl Crow, who adopted a son, Wyatt, earlier this month, stops for a snack break with the new man in her life at the Ralph Lauren store in Malibu on Sunday.

Sheryl Crow gets the crowd in line as Officer Naughty at Bette Midler's annual Hulaween benefit at New York's Waldorf Astoria on Wednesday. At one point, the hostess herself joined Crow for a special duet.

New Sheryl Crow Album Due In February
November 05, 2007
by Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
Sheryl Crow will return Feb. 5 with her next A&M/Interscope album, "Detours." The first single, "Shine Over Bayblon," is at iTunes now. Crow told Billboard.com this summer that the song "is very environmentally conscious, in the tradition of Bob Dylan."
"I'm really encouraging artists to write about what's going on, because we seem to be very distracted by some lightweight topics," she added. I think it's time to start writing about the reality of what's around us."
In additional comments on her Web site, Crow describes the single as "an every way a desperate cry for understanding. Perhaps it is even a battle song in the face of fear."
"Detours" was recorded at Crow's Nashville farm and will feature "14 or 15" of the 24 songs put to tape. The artist's baby son, Wyatt, makes an appearance on the song "Lullaby for Wyatt," which will be featured in the upcoming movie "Grace Is Gone."
"The songs are very inspired by the last three years of events in my life," Crow said of a time that found her battling breast cancer and splitting with partner Lance Armstrong.
"Detours" is the follow-up to 2005's "Wildflower," which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200.

I can't wait to hear it!! :) Commercially, I don't know how it will do. But she seems to have a decently solid fanbase and probably doesn't care all that much at this point.

Did anyone know she had a 'Hits And Rarities' CD out? It came out in the UK last month and I think hits Canada this Tuesday.
Pretty interesting. Most of the same as 'The Best Of' except it has two CDs.
Disc 1
1. "All I Wanna Do" (from Tuesday Night Music Club) – 4:34 2. "My Favourite Mistake" (from The Globe Sessions) – 4:05 3. "Soak Up the Sun" (from C'mon C'mon) – 4:51 4. "Always on Your Side" (featuring Sting) (from Wildflower) – 4:10 5. "The First Cut Is The Deepest" (from The Very Best of Sheryl Crow) – 3:45 6. "Everyday Is A Winding Road" (from Sheryl Crow) – 4:17 7. "Try Not To Remember" (previously unreleased) – 4:39 8. "Leaving Las Vegas" (from Tuesday Night Music Club) – 5:08 9. "Strong Enough" (from Tuesday Night Music Club) – 3:10 10. "If It Makes You Happy" (from Sheryl Crow) – 5:21 11. "Run, Baby, Run" (from Tuesday Night Music Club) – 4:51 12. "I Shall Believe" (from Tuesday Night Music Club) – 5:33 13. "Light In Your Eyes" (from The Very Best of Sheryl Crow) – 4:01 14. "C'mon C'mon" (from C'mon C'mon) – 4:25 15. "A Change Would Do You Good" (from Sheryl Crow) – 3:50 16. "Wildflower" (from Wildflower) – 3:57 17. "Sweet Child O'Mine" (from later pressings of The Globe Sessions) – 3:51 18. "Tomorrow Never Dies" (from Tomorrow Never Dies Soundtrack) – 4:50
[edit] Disc 2
1. "Run, Baby, Run" (from Tuesday Night Music Club) – 6:07 2. "Chances Are" (original version on Wildflower) – 5:14 3. "You're An Original" (Live From Budakon) (original version on C'mon C'mon) – 5:52 4. "The Difficult Kind" (Live From Budakon) (original version on The Globe Sessions) – 5:39 5. "Where Has All The Love Gone" (Acoustic Version)(original version on Wildflower) – 3:40 6. "Steve McQueen" (Live Radio Portugal) (original version on C'mon C'mon) – 3:26 7. "Riverwide" (Live for Wise Buddah) (original version on The Globe Sessions) – 4:14 8. "Everyday Is A Winding Road" (AOL Live) (original version on Sheryl Crow) – 5:04 9. "Subway Ride" (B-side to My Favorite Mistake single) – 3:57 10. "Leaving Las Vegas" (Live from Budakon) (original version on Tuesday Night Music Club) – 7:20 11. "Safe And Sound" (Live From Budakon) (original version on C'mon C'mon) – 5:36 12. "Keep On Growing" (from Boys on the Side OST) – 5:27
It looks like just a regular compilation that was obviously put out on the side, since it had no promo or anything. I might be interested in picking it up even though I have most of her albums already.

It's actually not the first single. The first single is called Love Is Free. It leaked on the internet today! omg where! GRAMMY WINNER FINISHES HER NEW STUDIO ALBUM SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow will release her sixth studio album, Detours, on February 5, 2008. The album marks the return of producer Bill Bottrell, who previously worked with Crow on her breakthrough debut album Tuesday Night Music Club, which earned the singer three Grammy Awards, and sold more than ten million copies worldwide. "This is the most honest record I've ever made. It's about being forced to wake up," says Crow. Lyrically the album is the most politically and personally outspoken record of her career, addressing the current state of the world from different perspectives as well as some of the personal challenges she's faced over the last several years. The album, which in the end remains spiritually hopeful, retains the raw freshness of Bottrell's Tuesday Night Music Club-production and subtly pushes the boundaries of her previous work into new musical territories. Track titles include "Shine Over Babylon" (currently available on iTunes, and the centerpiece of the album in Crow's opinion), "Love Is Free," the Arabic-tinged "Peace Be Upon Us," "Lullaby for Wyatt" (from Grace Is Gone, starring John Cusack) and the stark folky album opener "God Bless This Mess." Sheryl can be seen performing tracks from Detours on CNN's "Heroes" on December 6th and on CBS' "A Home for the Holidays" on December 21st.

Sheryl stated in another interview, I think it was for Entertainment Weekly, that she plans on releasing a few songs. She wants to get as much of the music from the album out there as possible before the release date. There's already the little video for Shine Over Babylon, and it's easy to find the video from the Ellen special where she did Gasoline.
But yeah, Shine Over Babylon was just a test song. I don't think it even officially went for adds? Love Is Free is awesome, though. I think it'll be a much bigger hit. It's undeniably catchy!

Well the single leaked and then Sheryl's management said the song wasn't going to be released just yet so they asked the moderator of her official site to take it down until they put it up for download.
Another new song from the album, Lullaby For Wyatt, is on iTunes. It's absolutely gorgeous!

I heard 'Love Is Free' on the radio tonight. Wow! It's super catchy. It's catchy like 'Soak Up The Sun' but from what I remember, it's much better and not as corny.

I finally managed to scrounge up a 46 sec. LQ clip of Love Is Free tonight, and I really like it. It's catchy and IMO much better than Shine Over Babylon.
