I saw Sheryl in concert last night. She was amazing and boy is this woman drop dead beautiful at 46. She sang Out of Our Heads and said it will be the next single in a few weeks. She said they were having a lot of trouble getting it played because of the whole political thing.

Aww.. too bad for 'Now That You're Gone' because that's a better song, I think, but OOOH isn't too bad. I just think it will have an even quicker (personal) burnout than 'Love Is Free' did. NTYG has a video in Canada, I think.

Now That You're Gone is the only shot at a decent-sized radio hit.

Perhaps "Out of our Heads" will have a chance, it already has a video and she played it on Leno. Great song.

Jul 2, 6:51 PM EDT Sheryl Crow urges preservation of wild mustangs
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Sheryl Crow is urging people to get involved in saving America's wild horses.
"I think it will be a real shame when we look back and we don't have these incredible species, and I guess my best hope would be that people, individuals, step up at this point and really protect these animals," the 46-year-old Grammy-winning singer says in an upcoming documentary, "Saving the American Wild Horse."
The program airs 9 p.m. EST Monday on the Documentary Channel. Directed by James Kleinert, it's narrated by Peter Coyote and features Viggo Mortensen.
Crow, who lives in Tennessee and owns a wild mustang named Colorado, says the animals are part of American history but are being sacrificed in big business' drive for Western lands.
"We're starting to get really, really far away from our heritage and what this country is based on," she says.
The documentary examines the Bureau of Land Management's policies regarding wild horses on public lands and includes interviews with ranchers, historians, animal rights activists, environmentalists and others.
"If any of these politicians visited these sites where our indigenous animals are being slaughtered in an inhumane way and being sold for meat, I feel that there would be a different take and a different approach to what's happening," Crow says.

Holiday album!
from Billboard:
Sheryl Crow In A Holiday Mood On Upcoming Album Sheryl Crow Julho 04, 2008 , 1:30 PM ET Gary Graff, Detroit The lights and candles and wreaths were out in Sheryl Crow's Los Angeles living room-in mid-June. Christmas came early in Crow's world this year because of an as-yet-untitled holiday album she's recorded with producer Bill Bottrell for Hallmark's annual series, following releases by James Taylor, Barry Manilow and George Strait.
It'll drop into Hallmark Gold Crown stores in September, and Crow gave Billboard an exclusive sneak peek before stashing it away until then. "We grew up singing Christmas carols [with] four-part harmonies," she says. "Christmas wasn't Christmas until the Christmas Eve service, and we all sang in the choir. It's still that way."
Crow is turning her attention back to her regular repertoire this summer, however. She's currently in Europe for festivals in Denmark, Switzerland and Italy, then returns to North America for a tour with James Blunt that starts on July 24 in Nashville. In November she heads to Australia with John Mellencamp.
She's also among the many musical artists lining up in support of Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama and hopes to play some role in support of his campaign.
"I know my manager's been talking to them," Crow says. "We're just putting schedules together and figuring out where we can be useful and what they need us for. I think his message is strong and clear. It's a message we need to start to believe in, and we need to stop with the cynicism and really manifest ourselves as being a part of what's happening in this country. We let some bad things happen on our watch; hopefully we'll never repeat that again.
What sent you in a Christmas direction?
I had been wanting to do this for awhile, so when the opportunity came up I just kind of jumped at it. I love Christmas music; every year we have this ritual after the Christmas Eve service, 40 or 50 people come over the house and we play Christmas music. We pretty much rely on the same Christmas music every year, and every year I've said, "I'm gonna make some Christmas music of my own." There's been lots of amazing Christmas records that have come out, but where Christmas music is concerned there's always room for everyone.
Given your friends and associates, Christmas Eve at Sheryl Crow's sounds pretty intriguing. Does someone get taken to task if he or she hits a bad note?
No, no, no-that's to be expected. That's what we call art, interpretation. [laughs]
What kind of approach are you taking with the release?
The album is just gorgeous. It's kind of a humble record; it's very sweet and innocent and a little bit of a throwback to maybe the '60s or '70s in production. It's definitely a departure from any Christmas record I've ever heard.
And the repertoire?
There's just a beautifully lush, kind of soulful version of "Oh Holy Night." And "All Through the Night," which is a traditional carol, actually; [Bottrell] put together a beautiful suite arrangement, which is a little bit of a departure from the stoic hymn version. But the lyrics for it are fantastic. And then there are just a few songs that are fun and everybody loves them-"Merry Christmas, Baby" and "White Christmas" and stuff like that.
Do these selections reflect your own favorites for the season?
They do, but also a lot of them we picked for the appropriateness of the time we're going through. We've got a lot of young kids who are overseas and away from their families. So we're doing "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and "The Bells of St. Mary," because they're about somebody being away. And also Bill penned a song called "Hello, Friend," which is about people coming back together at Christmas, which I think is really poignant.
How odd is it to be recording these songs in June?
It's weird, but any Christmas season I've had out here has been very similar. It's never been chilly when I've been here, or rainy. It's mostly been sunny, the Christmas seasons that I've been here. That's just Christmas in L.A.

Jul 24, 3:26 PM EDT Crow: Not working with Fleetwood Mac anytime soon
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Sheryl Crow is putting the "Rumours" to rest: She's not making a record with or joining Fleetwood Mac - not anytime soon at least.
"No, that was those 'Rumours' - to quote the album," she joked Wednesday, referring to the group's 1977 hit album.
"I'm a huge fan and have a great relationship with Stevie (Nicks), and actually with all of them. I just absolutely adore them," Crow said during a question-and-answer session with college students in Nashville as part of a Grammy Foundation event.
"I think their next album may be while I'm on the road. Hopefully in the future we'll have some kind of collaboration, but not at this time," she said.
Crow, 46, reportedly told the AOL music Web site Spinner.com last spring that she and the band "definitely have plans for collaborating in the future, and we'll see what happens."
Afterward, Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham told Billboard.com, "I think we were all surprised (Crow) was announcing to the world with such certainty. We have talked about bringing another woman into the scene to kind of give Stevie a sort of foil and shake it up a little bit. (Crow) was certainly a name that has come up. We'll have to see."
Nicks has been Fleetwood Mac's sole female member since Christine McVie left in the late '90s.
Buckingham has said the band plans to go on tour in early 2009 and follow it with an album, their first since 2003's "Say You Will."
Crow, who has recorded and performed with Nicks, is on tour supporting her recent album, "Detours."

Aug 21, 4:57 AM EDT AP Exclusive: Crow offers free music to voters
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Sheryl Crow is giving away free music - a tactic she calls the "Tupperware" party approach to inspiring young people to vote.
The Grammy Award-winning singer announced a plan Wednesday to give a digital copy of her album "Detours" to the first 50,000 people who register three friends to vote.
"I hope people wake up and emotionally engage in issues," Crow told The Associated Press in a telephone interview during a visit to Los Angeles.
Crow's giveaway is a kickoff to Rock the Vote's voter registration drive. She is also offering a free download of her politically charged song "Gasoline" to anyone who logs onto the Rock the Vote Web site or anyone on the group's mailing list, said the organization's executive director Heather Smith.
Crow, 46, was one of the founding artists of Rock the Vote 18 years ago. She said the "Detours" album fits perfectly into the group's cause since the lyrics touch on topics such as adoption, breast cancer, the war in Iraq, the environment and Hurricane Katrina.
"It's about the issues that everyone's talking about, but there's a lot of hope," Crow said. "At this moment in my life, writing about anything else would be uninteresting and impossible because I feel such urgency."
Crow, who has advocated for environmental, health and humanitarian causes, said her fans know where she stands politically. But in this voter registration campaign she's concerned only for the future of her 1-year-old son, Wyatt, and the future of American democracy.
Crow suggested that more musicians should use their music to promote issues that affect Americans. She said she was inspired by pop musicians from the 1960s and 70s, when political songs were performed by Edwin Starr, Buffalo Springfield, Marvin Gaye and Peter Paul & Mary.
"There was healthy competition among artists to create art that was commercial and political at the same time," Crow said.
"Our music (now) is not representing the times - at least not socially and politically. Or maybe we're just distracted."
Rock the Vote aims to register 2 million young people to vote by November - the largest youth voter drive in history by three times, Smith said.
"These musicians speak to millions of people every day so for them to use their voices to inspire people is a key part of our program," she said.
Anyone who recruits three people to vote will have to log onto the Rock the Vote Web site and go through a verification process before receiving Crow's album, Smith said.

OK SO I SAW HER LIVE LAST NIGHT.
And she was just as amazing as she was in '06. With better songs.
This woman is the most charismatic on-stage performer I've ever seen. She's hilarious and accessible and makes a big stage seem intimate.
She looked freakin' gorgeous, the stage was beautiful.
The reviews were OVERWHELMINGLY positive in all the papers today.
Only complaint is how detached she seems from songs like If It Makes You Happy - that song is one of my favorites, but in a way I wish she'd do what she wants to do. But I understand her doing it forsure though.

Hmmm... interesting. I'd probably consider it but I do own her DVD videos package that came out back in 2003. That and I own the original TNMC. Pretty interesting... although seems like a random release. 16 years since the original. Why not just wait until 2013?

I can't ever figure out how they choose which albums get the deluxe treatment either. Out of curiosity, I tried finding a catalogue of what they've currently made available in deluxe form, but, of course, there isn't an official one. This is the most comprehensive list I've been able to find, but it certainly didn't help me figure out a common thread amongst all these, haha.
