Anybody checked out this girl's new album, yet? I didn't buy her previous one (though I liked the clips) but this one is intriguing me. She sounds like the secret lovechild of Pink, Fiona Apple and Regina Spektor. 1. Little Black Sandals 2. Lentil 3. Day Too Soon 4. You Have Been Loved 5. The Girl You Lost to Cocaine 6. Academia 7. I Go to Sleep 8. Playground 9. Death By Chocolate 10. Soon We'll Be Found 11. Electric Bird 12. Beautiful Calm Driving 13. Lullaby You can listen to the whole thing temporarily at AOL: spinner.aol.com/artists/new-releases-full-cds?defaultTab=2

I have a good friend who is a huge Sia and Zero 7 fan. He's pretty much my exposure to her.
I haven't quite caught his Sia fever, but she is good.
I haven't heard much from this album, but I absolutely had to check out what she did with "I Go to Sleep," because I love the version by The Pretenders. I think Sia did a great job with it, too, so kudos to her. Her vocal style is comparable to Chrissie Hynde's, in my opinion.

I just purchased it after hearing the clips on I-Tunes this morning. I love her first album and I saw her live and she is 10 times better live than on CD! I can't wait to listen to this one all the way through!

^^I think it TRUMPS her last solo album. Amazing. Her personality comes through the music and lyrics, and she actually belts out the tracks rather than singing them in the whispery voice that people were starting to associate with her.

She still sings like she has marbles in her mouth which she doesn't do live...it must be for effect. In concert, she is a revelation. I still greatly appreciate and enjoy her records. This new album is something special, better than her first by far. On her first, I was stuck on Breathe Me (especially the Four Tet remix), Where I Belong, Rewrite, Sunday, Don't Bring Me Down and especially Broken Biscuit. I like everything on this album but I Go to Sleep, Day Too Soon, Little Black Sandals and Lentil kill me - the delivery, her phrasing...remarkable.

Billboard.com for the 1/26/07 chart:
The biggest debut is singer Sia's "Some People Have Real Problems" from Starbucks' Hear Music label at No. 26 with 20,000, the artist's first charting album on The Billboard 200.
