As posted elsewhere, it's not the biggest jump ever on the Billboard Hot 100. oh, then which is then?

The woman who sang "When I Close My Eyes". She first charted in 1987 at the age of 14, and scored several big hits in the early '90s (including the #1 smash "I Love Your Smile").

So much for that. It drops 28-45 this week on the Hot 100.

i like this song and i think the new chart is gr8 for songs like this, but only to a point.
It got up to 28 because of digital sales, but after 1 week drops a bunch because the digital sales went down so the Airplay:Sales ratio changed and it took a big punch for it.
While the new system gives this song a MUCH better chance, imo, it also causes DRAMATIC chart jumps & dips just based on the week.
"Rich Girl" is also a good example of this...i'm just not sure if this new system (while its clearly better b/c it includes sales more prevelantly) has been put into place in the most effective way.

I love the chart volatility personally. I hope this type of things happens more often. I want the singles chart to be even more volatile than the albums chart.

You can't complain that the chart is predictable though so that's a good thing!

This one looks like it might be done, but it could get a second boost later on. Its at #66 rite now with a +2. This song did sound pretty good on the radio. Why not any quicker pick ups? Alt tracks are doing well right now on Pop.

I heard this today, if it gets proper promotion this will definitely chart something to similar to "Breathing" with a peak of around #30.

This has got a massive bullet on HAC now. As a sucker for cheezy ballads (yes, I know it's cheezy, but I love it) I hope this goes top 30.

I'm amazed by this song's success. I thought they were headed the way of The Calling.

Didn't the calling have a HotAC hit recently? Maybe it wasn't the big, but I remember hearing something from them on the HOTAC station quite a bit. Yeah, "Our Lives" hit decently on Hot AC, but I don't think it did as well as "You and Me". Actually, now that I look, "Our Lives" hit #32 on Pop last summer. But I think "You and Me" is much less radio-friendly, so it's more surprising to me.

I certainly have probably very well underestimated this track.
I figured after "Stanley Climbfall" failed to capture some of the success of "No Name Face" that Lifehouse would become inevitably fated to the one-hit wonder cabinet, with "Spin" and "Take Me Away" both fading quickly.
But this has become huge on Hot AC, is a candidate for the charts next #1 hit, and add to that the enthusiastic response in terms of digital downloads.
Perhaps this isn't the last we'll see of Lifehouse.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

104 KRBE in Houston (#7 Pop) is the first large-market add for "You and Me", with 4 spins out the gate.
