Am I the only person who thinks she's a great live performer?

I saw her live performance on some Direct TV thing and I thought she was awful. That being said her singles are awesome and I love her material and her look.

Am I the only person who thinks she's a great live performer? She's very entertaining, yes. But her live vocals leave A LOT to be desired.

Am I the only person who thinks she's a great live performer? Probably. She has no stage presence or live singing ability.

I caught her show last week at the Verizon Wireless Theater in Houston. Someone must have given the message about her needing to step up her game performance wise. She rocked the (sold-out) crowd! Miss Perry demonstrated a huge improvement in her vocals and guitar playing. I didn't become a casual fan until "Thinking of You" came out, but her Houston performance made me a diehard fan. She's the real deal. Perry may not have the live vocal dynamics of say Celine Dion, but her display of newly refined on-stage energy, charisma, and spunk are superb is awesome. The Katy Perry that hit the stage last week was not the Katy Perry of awkard 2008 performances of even the same girl who butcher IKAG at this year's Grammys. She had the crowd in her hands. One more thing, I've seen many femals singers (Stevie Nicks, Madonna, Beyonce, Janet Jackson, etc. ) up close and personal, but Katy Perry is F%#*@$G BEAUTIFUL in person. She's one HOT woman in the flesh. Her pictures and videos give her no justice. Do I think she'll last? Yes! (Or at least I hope so!)

I've heard so many people say that about her once they've seen her in concert... It's like she's two different performers.

I agree about her beauty. She's probably the most beautiful new artist since Shania Twain in the early/mid '90s.

I've never considered Britney to be very "beautiful". Sexy yes (at least earlier), but not beautiful. Beyoncé on the other hand...

I feel like Britney and Katy could both be considered pretty in a doll sort of way as they both have that kind of facial profile. When you go into the realm of "beauty" it because harder to discern people could call Leona Lewis ;) "beautiful" and you can't really argue. lol.

I definitely think Britney is beautiful; it's just the typical/common kind of beauty. Meanwhile Katy is not only beautiful, but her look is also distinctive.

I think Britney manages to look "distinctive" by looking "common", if that makes sense. I immediately noticed her and remembered her face when she came out, but even back then she was more "pretty" than "beautiful" to me.

Perry's image may be somewhat distinctive, but her features are no more than Britney's.

Perry's image may be somewhat distinctive, but her features are no more than Britney's. Ditto. I feel people are calling Katy "distinctive" because she looks like a throwback to the 50's with her current style, I feel if she was dressed in more normal clothing and just seen as regular they would be in the same category. It's always hard to qualify what kind of "beautiful" a person is. I feel that both Britney and Katy are capable of being seen as pretty and sexy as they both have the ability to convey a girl next door quality about them but also just as capable of conveying a sexier side as well that is just underneath. In terms of "gorgerous" I feel that exemplifies Beyonce as I don't really see her as a girl next door, I see her more as a model kind of beautiful. I don't really see her as being approachable or down to earth. I see her more as a model kind of beautiful not usually found kind of like Tyra Banks. I feel saying someone is "beautiful" is a universal statement as it encompasses all types of attractiveness, uniqueness and diversity that pleases ones eye. I feel so are Gwen Stefani's does that make her beauty distinctive though? I don't really think so personally as I think there are other people who look enough like her despite the eye difference.

Britney is beautiful but it is a very common beauty, so to speak. She's more inoffensively pretty than anything else. Also, she's never looked particularly intelligent to me and that dulls her appeal in my eyes a bit. Love her, but there are a lot of girls in California that look similar.
Katy's features are a bit more distinctive, particularly her eyes, which are bright and evocative. She is Zooey Deschanel's doppelganger. If I were a modeling agent, I would sign her easily over Britney, for the simple reason that I think she would yield more interesting photographs.

Katy appears to be appealing to all the senses rather than hearing LOL. I can tolerate her songs and I WILL give her credit for attempting to sing live, even when she shouldn't. Fans deserve that much. I do hope she continues to improve live. Her new single is her best, for me. It's cool how she is doing so well with a 4th. For me, WUIV is her 3rd bc I never heard the 3rd one.

Britney is not beautiful, she is 'pretty'. She is very, very, plain faced compared to other females in the recording industry, her appeal comes from her sexuality.
Katy Perry, she is very pretty as well. I've yet to see much of her tho.

Oh god, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Why even bother arguing about who is or isn't pretty? Next...

So, what's the scoop? Is she going to release a fifth single to capitalize on the success of Waking Up in Vegas or not? I hope so, just because I love her and would love to get another music video from her, but also because I'd like her to have at least 4 singles off this album hit top 10 on CHR. A boy can dream!
Personally, I think If You Can Afford Me fares the best chance to be a success on the radio, but I also have always felt that they can take a risk with Lost, especially in the fall. The lyrics are very relatable, a la Avril's I'm With You, and with the right video I could really see it working. So, of the remaining songs, here's how I'd rank them in terms of single success potential:
#1 - If You Can Afford Me #2 - Lost #3 - One of the Boys #4 - Ur So Gay #5 - Self-Inflicted #6 - Fingerprints #7 - Mannequin #8 - I'm Still Breathing
What do you all think?

I'm assuming since we haven't heard about a new single yet it means there won't be one. A shame, but whatever.

I think it's the best way to go. End with a bang and release a first single in a few months. A short, clean, 4 singles era. Just like old times!
