Aren't all of her songs love songs? I was talking more beat/rhythm/production wise. OS was cheesy, but the production is what made it terrible.

I didn't see anything wrong with the production of OS. I thought it fit the song perfectly. I'm not sure what else they could've done with the song to make it better. I just hope there aren't any songs as over-produced as SSN on the new record. If she wants to do pop remakes of her songs thats fine, but the originals need to be country.

It's got, well when I heard it in June, the same tempo-style as "Our Song", it's at about that pace, but it's a song about teenage love.

She really needs to put out songs like PTB and SSN (though I admit SSN is a bit Pop-ish for country radio) IMO. They showcase her at her best. Permanent Marker sounds promising. :)

^Romeo, Juliet more likely since she does mention the characters in the song. Wait, and is this a happy love song? I realize that Romeo & Juliet's love is iconic, but their story ends tragically. Hopefully, the lyrics will be sensitive to that. In any case, All Access confirms that this song will impact on 15 September.

I just hope one of her future singles to be something other than boy/girl relationships. I second that. How many more sides of teenage love can one sing about? Looking back at past love with fondness (Tim McGraw) or with bitterness (Picture to Burn), during the bitterness (Should've Said No), current love (Our Song), love that never was (Teardrops on My Guitar). So the next single is Love Story. Good to see she's branching out. She's a teenager who just graduated from high school who writes their own songs. This is all she knows. If she had someone else writing her songs, then maybe she would "branch out" more.

Less eyeroll next time. It doesn't help your case or conversation if you act like you're annoyed/offended by someone making a reasonable if not neutral point. I would go as far as to say it is close to breaking the rules. I know there's some kind of adage about writing what you know, but I don't totally buy it. Storytelling is an important element of country music and I think it's an important skill to be able to step out of one's own perspective and try out different characters, both as an interpreter and as a writer. I would think and hope that Taylor is more imaginative than to have to limit herself to writing about variants of young love.

"Change," her first top-10 hit, isn't about love (as far as I can tell lol).

I'd have to say that I am very impressed with her songwriting skills at such a young age.Yes, some were more on the teenage side but they were good and she was a young teenager writing these. I look foward to hearing more stuff from her.She seems sweet and real.

I am very impressed as well. Does anybody know when I will be able to hear a clip of "Love Story" or the new single in full?

I don't think most people that age could write songs like that. VERY impressive. I really think Taylor is one very talented young lady. Can't wait to listen to the next album!

^ I don't think most artists 10 or 15 years older than Taylor could write songs like that. She definitely has a major talent for songwriting.

Agreed. The fact that she writes her own music takes her to a whole new level.

Sounds good, actualy a bit different from when I heard it in June, but it was live so there you go.
She will debut this, btw, on the CMA Music Festival special next Monday night at 8 PM on ABC. That's the actual shooting I attended.

Although I haven't heard the whole version of Love Story, it doesn't sound that great to me. Her other singles were much better in my opinion.

Interesting that "Permanent Marker" was cut from the album. I bet it, "Sparks Fly" and possible "I'd Lie" will show up on the unavoidable re-release of this album.
I am extremely upset she cut "Sparks Fly" from the tracklisting. That song is one of my all-time favorites of hers and I think a mega-smash in the making. It's a shame.

If the album is re-released and "I'd Lie" is on it, I hope it's a single!

Ughh!! I can't believe they cut "I'd Lie", "Your Face" AND "Permanent Marker"! Oh well, I'll get the re-releases or bonus track versions I suppose... I'm still going to love it, I can just tell.

"Your Face" was never supposed to be on the album, i don't think. i like that song alright, but i'd rather have other songs on it. Very mad that I'd Lie and Perm. Marker aren't on there though.
