^Thanks, the Kascade Mix is at her myspace. Just as I feared... this isn't that good. It just doesn't fit as a dance song with me, IMO; but then again, what do I know about dance music? Does anyone know if that is the only dance mix?

Oh dear God in heaven. This was poised to be my favorite song of 2008 but this dance mix may put that in jeopardy.

This is kind of off topic but your post reminded me of a similar situation. Fans first heard "No Way Out" on LeAnn's episode of Music In High Places. It was hauntingly gorgeous. Just amazing. Then Twisted Angel came out and it was one of the worst songs on the CD. Over produced to death. Sad sad waste of a great song.

Yeah that dance mix is brutal. Hopefully I can forget it the next time I hear the original.

Not surprised at the reactions to the mixes...this is the country forum after all.
As a multi-genre, heavily pop-leaning fan, I think they are great and they are getting good buzz on some other pop forums I visit.

I think the remixes are fantastic!!
One of the (many) things I love about LeAnn is the different versions fans (like me) get of her singles - treated to country mixes, pop versions and normally a great variety of banging club mixes as well.
I love LeAnn

I stumbled across the old Christmas Target Commercial, back when she was country music's 'it' girl, In Target Commercials, Samsung Commercials, and so on... "Put A Little Holiday in your Heart" www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_gSP44i5i4

Sorry if I sound out of place here - I haven't been on the board in a while, but has anyone heard anything about Grammy nominations? I saw this article www.mmdnewswire.com/grammy-nomination-for-tribute-album-4209.html and it hints that the album, FAMILY, is nominated for Country Album of the Year. I haven't been able to find a confirmation about this...I'm not even sure if the nominations have been announced yet, but I can't stop thinking of the possibility when reading the article.

Hmmm...up against some older artists for Country Album of the Year! That's pretty awesome. LeAnn vs. Dolly, Willie, Alan, and Brooks & Dunn! I assume she'll also pick up a nomination (win possibly?) for Best Female Country Performance with WICC.

This would be her 3rd consecutive year being nominated, which would be an achievment in itself. Let's hope for the best.

I think that you may be hearing about "finalists" for the nods. I do know that there has been a lot of campaigning for WICC in the major song categories, so we'll see. Sometimes the Grammy's pick a somewhat obscure song and that then cause it to blow up, but I am not holding my breath.

I have spent the past hour reading various blogs and websites about WICC and I was surpirsed to find so many. Further, reading discussions about the upcoming Grammy nods, it looks like most see LeAnn as a lock for Female Vocalist, but I was quite surprised to see that many also see this track getting Country Song of the Year too. I really hope that LeAnn is able to nab at least two nominations this year.
It does appear that the "politics" of music that we tend to not know about has been in full swing for this track. I sense that us LeAnn fans could be in for a happy Grammy night, at least in terms of recognition fort LeAnn.

I have been thinking of the Grammys as my last hope for this song, but I've been trying not to get my hopes up. If it's even nominated for anything though, I'll be completely satisfied. I really doubt that "Family" is nominated for Best Album, although that would be amazing. If you'll notice, that list adds up to 6 nominees and I'm pretty sure the Grammys only have 5 in each category.

The category I would most like to see her nominated in is Female. I think she would have a realistic shot at winning. With that said, how cool would it be for LeAnn to win the Grammy for country Song of the Year, being her 1st award for songwriting.

Dance mixes debut today at No. 46 on Billboard's Club Play chart so this has now at least officially charted somewhere in Billboard.
The Dance Mix EP's are also ranking at No. 15 (ext) and No. 16 (edits) on iTunes Dance Albums since going up Tues.
Speaking of which, the EP's actually include dance mixes of Good Friends & A Glass Of Wine and Headphones as well.

I LOVE the stripped down acoustic version she performed live on Music In High Places, but don't care at all for the CD version.

No Way Out is a big fave of mine!
I think we LeAnn fans will be quite pleased tomorrow morning after the annoucements tonight. I see LeAnn scoring two nods, Female Vocalist and Song of the Year. You read it here first!

You read it here first! It seems unthinkable that LeAnn could be nominated in those categories, since awards are a rarity for her over the past 8 or nine years. I hope you are right though. Song of the year would be amazing. Also a 3rd consecutive year nominated in the Female Vocalist category would be cool.

I'm still curious as to how the Country Album category turns out. I know that article that came out may not have been accurate but he sure did a good job of just pulling random albums out of the blue if so.
I'd like to see LeAnn get nominated as well, but she may not get more that Best Country Female, if that.

Three consecutive years with a nomination in this category. She has a real good shot this year. The candidates are great. Part of me would like to see either Lee Ann Womack or Martina win this award just because they are the only two never to get a win in this category.

One additional note: Voters must really have taken notice of this song because it is far and away the least commercially successful, not ever having charted.

I'd like to think LeAnn would win but this song did nothing so I don't see it happening. It's my favorite single from her in awhile.

It's my favorite single from her in awhile. but grammy doesn't give an award for the most successful single or the biggest selling album. they consider the quality. anyway, I think LeAnn have a big shot this time. probably her biggest threat is Trisha.

WOW...flashback 10 years ago and it was all about Trisha Yearwood and LeAnn Rimes. That looks like it will be repeated this year. I don't see Carrie pulling the hat-trick this year. She has won 2 years in a row and "Last Name" just isn't as good as the others. besides, it is a total rehash of BHC. Martina has had better songs in the past and I don't see it winning this year. Lee Ann Womack just doesn't stand out for me.
I was diappointed that there was no Song of the Year nod and I am sure that LeAnn was too as it seems that there was a lot of campaigning for this track.

While I'd like to see LeAnn Rimes win it, my vote (if I had one) would have to go to Lee Ann Womack for "Last Call" as that's probably gonna be one of my favorite songs of 2008. I never was a big fan of WICC, although a good song, but it has touched many people and hopefully will do the same thing with voters.
But, again, I hope to see LeAnn take this award this time and I definately believe she is a strong front runner for the award.
