This song is slowly but surely gaining away from the crowd It lost audience impressions today, albeit a small -0.134M AIs. 2 weeks at #1 looks good for now, but a 3rd one is still up in the air. I'll go a step further. It's not even sales that really matter (especially since sales numbers are down across the board for virtually every artist these days). It's the touring gate that matters the most. Kenny Chesney has always had decent sales numbers, but he's the top dog in touring gate...which, in turn, is why he's EOTY. Granted there is some correlation between sales and touring gate (if you don't have the sales, you're probably not going to get the touring gate). But my point is once you sell the first million or two, at that point each additional million is not nearly as important as the touring gate number. Agree. Artists make the most money from touring, merchandising, and endorsements. With a full-scale headlining tour, massive merchandise sales, and endorsements for Nintendo DS and Vitamin Water, I wouldn't be surprised if Carrie's making at least 3x more money now than during the 7x platinum Some Hearts album era.

Congrats to Carrie for her 8th straight country number one. Yes, I said 8.
I think as long as she continues to release great material, she should continue this streak.
I think her next cd will surprise alot of people, including us. jmo

In the Carnival Ride album thread Vinman posted a potential new song for Carrie's album. I would love to hear Carrie sing it! Go check it out!

lol, if they release another single from CR, I'm going to guess it won't go #1. I love many of the songs left on the album, but I don't think many of them will work too well on the album. That being said... I hope the next single is FOTF.
And, congrats Carrie on a #1 for JAD --- well deserved! :)

^ Yeah, a 2nd week is pretty much a lock. A third week is also possible, though it's too soon to tell. I assume "Love Story" will have a push and its bullet won't stay so low. "Chicken Fried" is doing really well in spins, but its impressions are behind.

So, Carrie will be #1 on the 11/15 chart and possibly the 11/22 chart. I believe the 11/29 chart is the last of the chart year, and it would be cool if she could somehow hold on until then as she'd have both the first and last #1s of the chart year. I don't see that happening, though.
If she can hold on for a 3rd week, though, she'd have 9 weeks at #1 for the chart year. That would be more than anyone, even if "Love Story" got to #1 that last week (Taylor would then tie her).

I wonder what's up with LS. It looks like CF will pass it this week on mediabase. IMO, it doesn't really measure up to a number one song, but it is Taylor. It's kind of generic sounding to me. It lacks a hook. Chicken Fried is really catchy and easy to listen to. I can see why it's flying up the charts. JAD might get a 3rd week, but it'll be close.

I think this song could get a third week. Chicken Fried is 5 million AI away. Taylor will receive a push from her labe, but she wont get to #1 until after CF.

Taylor will still have a significant lead on "Chicken Fried" next week, so she could easily get pushed to #1 before CF. Actually, I'm starting to think that's what will happen since "Love Story" would then be #1 the week of the album release. Carrie's label would have to fight for a third week at #1, and I don't see them doing that based on what has happened in the past with her other #1s.

^ ^ U sure? According to All Access, "CF" has passed "LS" in impressions (has been ahead in spins for a bit). It also has a bigger bullet. So, unless "LS" gets a huge push, "CF" has the current advantage.

Go Carrie, with you and all your unprecedented success! Who cares who gets #1 someone's gonna take it from her eventually anyway.

Yeah, this week will be tough. Carrie has lost her bullet, and "Chicken Fried" has a pretty big bullet. It could be a fight to the finish.

Yeah, this week will be tough. Carrie has lost her bullet, and "Chicken Fried" has a pretty big bullet. It could be a fight to the finish. Zac Brown Band are still about 4 million behind in audience right now, though, so I think Carrie's safe this week. Still, ZBB are ahead of Taylor now, so they're pretty much a lock for #1 next week.

"Chicken Fried" might be ahead of "Love Story" on AllAccess but as I said before, Taylor will likely lead Zac Brown Band on Billboard next week (probably by about 1 million). Taylor's gain this week will only be about a million, but I think that signals a big week for her next week. Carrie only gained about 1 million the week before she moved to #1, and then she got pushed to #1 with a gain just under 2 million. Right now I'd give Taylor a 70% chance of moving to #1 next week.

Okay, close enough. You're better at this than I am. Still, I'd give ZBB a very good chance at #1. They've got way too much momentum built up to get stuck at #2.

Given current momentum and callout data, I'm inclined to think that Big Machine's going to make the big push this week, b/c I think ZBB is destined for #1, it's just a matter of when. With Taylor's album coming out the 11th, it would make sense to push the song next week anyway, but I think ZBB will bump her after just 1 week. ZBB's album comes out the 18th, so I expect his new label to have a push ready as well.

My guesses are that it's either FOTF, Crazy Dreams, or TMBIM.
