When will the new single be announced? I'm getting antsy!
I'm hearing Last Name a lot all of a sudden. I've come to like that one a lot more than I initially did. I never hear So Small though.

In my area it is the opposite. I still hear "So Small" a lot, but never hear "Last Name." It's sort of interesting how different areas can be into different songs. Of course, "So Small" is a year old now so you'd expect it to get less airplay than a newer song.

That's right jeng, because here in San Diego, KSON and KUSS spin the hell out of AAG. It's crazy. I expect a new single announcement after the CMAs next week.

My local stations seem to almost NEVER give any recurrent spins to Carrie songs. Weird.

I hear AAG the most, or Wasted. Wasted and BHC get the most overall recurrent airplay here in NY I think-- but AAG gets the most for Carnival Ride.

At any rate, there should be about six more weeks until Taylor Swift surges to #1, in her 9th chart week, the 11/22/08 chart. She's at 15.1 mill on Billboard this week, about half of what Darius has at #1. So six more weeks of 2.5 mill gains would get her up to a #1-worthy 30 mill total at that time. So that would leave five open weeks for others. Maybe two weeks for Kenny, one for Toby, and two for Carrie? If Taylor wants to take her time a little more, that would be fine with me, as it would no doubt with Toby and Carrie. Hey, if everyone else gets to go on and on for the last five pages on this thread speculating what Carrie's next single will be, then I should be allowed to go back and pat myself on the back for guessing the exact succession of #1 songs, way back on October 1st, right?! Two weeks at #1 for Kenny, one for Toby, two for Carrie, and then Taylor indeed made it in her 9th week of release, the 11/22 chart. Just don't ask me to guess the next six weeks of #1s... Anyway, the two weeks that Carrie was at #1 on Billboard with JAD, put her up to 22 total career weeks at #1 for her 7 charttoppers. That put her past Loretta Lynn (21), looking at the past old-timers. Other female legends still ahead of her are Crystal Gayle (23 weeks on 18 #1s), Dolly (32 weeks on 24 #1s), and Tammy Wynette (37 weeks on 20 #1s). She also draws nearer to Reba's 26 weeks (on 22 #1s) and Faith's 30 weeks (on 9 #1s), for recent female stars. I don't see any other females with more than Tammy's 37 weeks, and I wouldn't bet against Carrie for eventually catching her. Of course, I would have thought Faith would have made it to Tammy a few years ago...

^ that is incredible news! wow.
I hope Carrie at least makes it into the 30's with number 1's. She is so young that it is definetly possible.
