What do you mean by "trends and fads like that"? I just mean the whole teen/pop thing. She is too country for that so she shouldn't try it - especially since that side of the market is already saturated with those girls I mentioned plus the wannabes (Kellie, Jessica etc). Oh, gotcha.

oh please. Carrie had a huge crossover hit with BHC. Miranda is too country to do that and thats just the way it is. Stop reading too much into things. And Kellie has yet to prove herself in my opinion.

And Kellie has yet to prove herself in my opinion. I don't get how that makes her teen pop... CHR has all kinds of people listening to it. What a weak argument... On the plus side, I think this song is fantastic and I hope it reaches #1.

Carrie's case was proven in the post above. Now Kellie... how does not proving herself to you make her a wannabe? just because she hasn't sold millions of records or had huge airplay for her songs does not make her a wannabe. She is definitely a country singer in every way. And if someone were to ask who are the biggest solo female acts in Country music today, i would easily say Carrie, Taylor, Kellie.

While Carrie and Taylor are easily the two biggest (and in that order), Miranda Lambert probably should be listed before Kellie Pickler. She has both a Platinum and Gold album as well as her first Top 10 single right now. Also, as much as radio has been ignoring them, both Sara Evans and LeAnn Rimes are bigger household names and would also pack bigger venues than Kellie, who has never had a Top 10 hit. Personally, I would list them before Kellie as well. Just my opinion, of course.

even though i don't think Kellie is in top 3. it is very unfair to call her wannabe, she is making country music since day 1, her CMA performace last year was amazing and i highly appreciated. if she is a wannabe many others blonde girls are, she is doing her own thing and i only hear good things about people that see her live and etc.

well i was just talking about overall popularity. I have not seen LeAnn, Sara, or Miranda on a magazine cover any time recently. i have seen Carrie, Kellie, and Taylor many times. plus I think Kellie has more popularity from being on American Idol so everyone knows her and her voice. i should have said "the most popular solo female acts in Country music today are..." instead. my bad. i do agree that LeAnn, Sara, and Miranda are all pretty big today as well (even if LeAnn and Sara are failing to exist to radio now) but i wouldn't put LeAnn and Sara ahead of Kellie for biggest females TODAY. overall yes, today no. Miranda would be about even with Kellie, i think, success wise. Miranda would have done more, but Kellie would have been WAY more consistent with singles. Miranda and Kellie have both had 3 top 20 singles. Kellie is 3/3 (not including the still rising single) and Miranda is 3/7 i believe.
now i don't intend to make this a compare people to Miranda thread. I love Miranda and I am so happy she is finding success. Hopefully she continues it with this single. I hope her and Kellie both get to the top 10 with their new singles and both really emerge and Country superstars very soon.

you're welcome... Kellie deserve only good things, it is sad when you have to hear things like that.

Getting back on topic, anyone have any thoughts as to what the video [if there is one] will be like?

there should be a video since there wasn't one for G&L.

^ Hopefully. 'G&L' could have had a great video. It's a shame they didn't do one.

Btw, I think I've finally figured out a theory to all the groaning in G&L... I think the beginning is the man, having just abused his wife, maybe driving away and the grunting is the engine... and the grunting at the end is maybe the girl, having just shot him, driving away so she wouldn't get caught... just my assumption. lol

Let's stop with the G&L firearms/groaning talk.

Relax. its not like I dislike Kellie, but she has yet to do anything to prove she is here to stay. Leann, Sara, Carrie, Taylor all have, and Miranda is in the process of doing so.

saying that she has yet to do anything to prove she is here to stay is one thing... calling her wannabe is a offensive thing if you don't know, you just said that she is not country and she is more country than many country singers. just saying, i am sure you are not american.

what? please shut up. I know she is country. She just isn't doing very well. She got lucky on Idol with her personality. I don't see her as being any more talented than every other chick in Nashville. She jumped on the Carrie/Taylor bandwagon. Its pretty obvious.

Kellie's first album came out just one week after Taylor's, so I don't see how she was jumping on the bandwagon. And since when is selling nearly 800,000 copies of a debut album not doing well?

Enough.
If you aren't in this thread to discuss Miranda Lambert and "More Like Her," you shouldn't be posting in here at all. I don't care if somebody else posted about Kellie Pickler in this thread before you did. If you must respond, have the sense to post your response in the appropriate thread (which would be one that actually bears Kellie Pickler's name).

I like this song alot-- as it shows the pretty side of her voice.... She should do a few more ballads like this as I think she has a nice voice when she does slow songs. I like her edgy stuff too- but I am more of a fan of her voice on the slow songs.

I love this as well... and agree for the most part... as weird or creepy as this may sound, I think G&L was a masterpiece(sp?) and proved itself by giving Miranda her first top 10... so I hope she does more songs like that on her next album, maybe not with the same story line as G&L but more uptempos. But if there's any song close to being as good as this on her next album, bring it on!

If they were going with a ballad (which is probably in Miranda's best interest so she doesn't get typecast), then I think this was the perfect choice. However, I think "Guilty In Here" is the best song on the album, and I'd be surprised if they released a 5th single, so I'm slightly disappointed that won't ever be released.

I love Miranda but you can't knock Kellie's country voice and her success in general as a new artist. Not everybody freshly goes multi platinum with their debuts (Carrie, Taylor). Again, not knocking them, but I would much rather see Kellie rise slowly to the top then fading in and out in a heartbeat. Back to the song, I absolutely love it - its my favorite from her cd actually. Hope it goes top 10

That's the thing when you have such a fantastic album... a lot of great songs won't be released ;) As for the song...I think the radio date is only September 1st.

as a female songwriter in country the only competition Miranda has are Taylor Swift and Jennifer Nettles I definitely agree with that statement. That said, my personal tastes tend to favor that of Lambert and Nettles.
