I really hope that Miranda makes a nice video (preferably with a storyline) for this song. Her label really needs to support her and help her to promote this more. She got the album of the year award, Gunpowder & Lead made a dent on radio, if she plays her cards right hopefully she can have atleast equal success with "More Like Her" to that of "Gunpowder & Lead."

as a female songwriter in country the only competition Miranda has are Taylor Swift and Jennifer Nettles Running the risk of sounding like a broken record here: Lucinda and Emmylou, newly Jewel, etc. Or did you mean people played on country radio? Well, then you're perhaps right.

who else is on the label with miranda? Montgomery Gentry, Gretchen, Keith Anderson...Jessica Simpson are all under Columbia Nashville, which is just a subsidiary of Sony Nashville which has tons of artists.

A thumbs up review from the 9513:
Miranda Lambert - “More Like Her” Brady Vercher | August 14th, 2008 Email Share
Songwriters: Miranda Lambert
Miranda Lambert sheds her renegade persona and exposes her vulnerable side in her latest single, “More Like Her,” the fourth from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and the first solo-penned track to be released from the album.
It’s interesting to note that upon the release of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, the marketing and chatter centered around Lambert’s cultivated renegade image, but that died with the extended radio run of “Famous In A Small Town” and never really resurfaced during the 30 week run of “Gunpowder and Lead.” It looks like the death of that image has allowed the focus to center on her artistic merits, netting her Album of the Year at the ACM Awards, but it’ll be interesting to see if it garners her any more commercial success. At the pace they’re going now, it wouldn’t be out of the question to only see new music from Lambert every two years, after four singles have had their chance to run the gamut.
Based on personal experience, Lambert sings about her role as the losing participant of a love triangle in “More Like Her.” The details are ambiguous, creating a lack of a complete narrative, but this allows Lambert to explore her own internal emotional conflict. Vindication, stubbornness, self reliance, and mostly inadequacy make up the emotional complexity as Lambert wonders what she should have done to keep her man and if trading her pain for love would have been worth betraying her personal values.
Whether or not this one has any potential at radio remains to be seen and they certainly aren’t guaranteed to latch on to it, despite her previous two singles making her highest chart climbs to date. The song’s slow tempo, which is the polar opposite of “Gunpowder and Lead,” is quite unlike anything else currently in the Top 40. While the change of pace is certainly refreshing, “Desperation” or “Love Letters” would have made for better releases in today’s radio climate.
To wrap it up, the song is a little ambigous, unlike anything on radio, and not catchy in a singable sort of way due to it’s slow tempo. Commercially, it doesn’t look like it has much going for it and probably wasn’t the best choice for a single. However, Lambert sounds great and sells the song with her performance, making for a worthwhile release. This kind of material, as opposed to her tough-chick-done-wrong romps like “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and “Gunpowder and Lead,” is where her real promise lies and hopefully will become stronger as she develops her craft. Moreover, the song’s uniqueness compared to Top 40 radio is a plus and it’s nice to see something sent to radio for its artistic quality rather than its commercial viability.

With an add date of Sept 2, it's already doing much better than singles from Josh Gracin (Aug 25), LeAnn Rimes (Aug 25), Chris Cagle (Aug 25), Whitney Duncan (Aug 25), and the Randy Rogers Band (Aug 11), and is about tied in AI with Jake Owen (Aug 25) and Josh Turner (Aug 16). I actually think (along with hope) this'll be a hit. I'm betting top 20 at least.

Yeah...but the reviewer said better whne he stated: "Moreover, the song’s uniqueness compared to Top 40 radio is a plus and it’s nice to see something sent to radio for its artistic quality rather than its commercial viability" This song is amazing, way more Desperation and Love Letters (which I also love)... I loved what this guy said...this song is really weel written and it has so many layers... I hope radio can see this...Miranda is the best thing right now!

I hope radio can see this...Miranda is the best thing right now! Agreed. In my opinion, she is far and beyond the best female country artist out there right now. I really hope this does well for her.

Don't get me wrong, I like this song, I'm just concerned that it might not catch on at radio. I had the same concerns about James Otto's new single, and look at it, it's struggled mightily just to make the T40. I really hope this does take off for Miranda, because with Sara Evans in a rut artistically, Miranda has become my favorite female artist...by a wide margin.

I adore this song and I agree with Britneys husband that Miranda is just the best thing out there right now. :)

Famous in a Small Town was refreshingly cute, GaL was so catchy and risky, and this song is my life story!!! wooooooo! I think the odds are in her favor to really sweep the CMAs! :)

i heard this on SIRIUS today and i absolutely love it! every time i hear it, it gets better and better :) i also loved FIAST and G&L and now this one too. i actually liked Crazy Ex-Girlfriend too this whole album is loaded with great songs like "Desperation", "Guilty In Here", "Love Letters". There are just some albums that you wish the artist could release every song off of it and this is one of those albums. And there aren't many of those (IMO). "Some Hearts", "Lady Antebellum", "Twice The Speed Of Life", and this one are the ones that come to mind right away. i hope Miranda picks up some awards at the CMA's too. she deserves some more recognition.

I like the change of pace with this song. She showing off her softer vocal side. Will it be played on country radio? After the success of her album, they have to give her a chance to be heard. I see it as a top 15 hit.

well the song has been out like 2 weeks and it doesn't seem to have gotten any buzz at all. which is weird since it came off her biggest hit ever.

i think its flopping. they need to release Dry Town As mentioned earlier based on what? Also "Dry Town" would be a sketchy release because I know a lot of people with this album and that love Miranda to death and this song gets pretty mixed reviews. It seems to be either you love it or it's a "skip" track. Personally I love it. But I think MLH needs some time, it's a fantastic song both lyrically and in the way she sings it. I hope it goes Top 20.

It is moving slowly (#53 after 3 weeks on the chart), but I don't think it's time for alarm yet. Miranda never moves up quickly. If they go with another single after this, I think it needs to be "Guilty In Here".

This song is far from done. With all the format superstars seemingly simultaneously releasing new singles, plus the lack of songs going recurrent over the last month, that doesn't leave much room for Miranda to move up. Not to mention the reluctance that stations have to move on from an artists' breakthrough single to the follow up. As long as the label is in it for the long haul with song, I still see it doing as well I predicted earlier (peak in the 20's). She's moving up at a very similar rate to Josh Turner's new single, and he's a more established artist (although he doesn't have the buzz that she has right now), so it's definetly not time to panic yet.
