i thought she would release "desperation" at some point I would've liked to have seen either that or Love Letters released, but I don't foresee any more singles from this album. Another single would push a new album back to probably October or November, and possibly even into 2010. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is almost 2 years old as it is, so I don't think another single would do it any good sales wise anyway.

As much as I'd like to see this song be successful, I'm ready for it to be done so that we can hear some new music from Miranda. same. i hope this can get into the top 15. but after that i want a new single from a new album

She is supposed to be starting on the new album soon, so fingers crossed! Miranda blogged very recently about going into the studio for the new album, right? With that in mind, I'm thinking that the lead single from her next album is still a few months away. That wouldn't leave enough time for a fourth single from CXG, but it seems to me that Columbia Nashville might keep "More Like Her" going for a while longer to minimize the wait for the new single. It is still up just under 500K on Mediabase for the week.

www.gactv.com/gac/nw_headlines/article/0,,GAC_26063_5939768,00.html Dec. 18, 2008 — Miranda Lambert’s wrapping up a very successful 2008 — she toured for the first time with boyfriend Blake Shelton; scored a couple of hits; and won the Academy of Country Music’s Album of the Year award, for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The holidays give her a little time to dial the intensity back and recharge before the new year. "Over the holiday I tend to ‘nest,’" she told The Oklahoman. "I love baking and cooking and having friends and family over. We’ve already got like five days' worth of family celebrations planned. As for 2009 ? I’ve got a few things in the works."
Among the things in Miranda’s future is her third album, currently projected for a fall release. She’ll wrap up ’08 by performing one more show with Blake in Green Bay, Wis.

I guess that means 'Dry Town' will never see the light as a single .

Pity, I'd love to see radio's reaction to that!

Dry town or Crazy ex girlfriend would've been an awesome way to end this era. I'm still hoping mlh goes top ten

^ Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was the lead single and peaked at #50. If they do go with another single to fill the time she spends recording her new album, my guess is it would be Guilty In Here. It's not one of my favorites, but it's received quite a bit on unsolicited airplay.

It looks like the label is looking to release a fifth single from CXG, after all! Edited because this would be the fifth single off the album, not the fourth.Hear Something Country is inviting folks to tell them which of the following songs would most make us buy Miranda's album (and should therefore be the next single): "Guilty in Here," "Desperation" and "Dry Town." "More Like Her" isn't done yet, of course, but it's nice to know there will be another single from this album.

I'm a big fan of "Guilty In Here" and "Dry Town," so I'd be happy with either of those as singles. I think "Desperation" would be a bad follow-up to a song like "More Like Her." Really there aren't any radio friendly songs left, but what I love about Miranda, is there really aren't any to start with.

"More Like Her" is hanging tight in the Top 20, which is a little better than I expected. "Guilty in Here" would be the most likely to gain traction at radio, but I like "Dry Town" quite a bit, too. The whole album is terrific really, and it's charting incredibly well for being almost two years old.

I got that survey from my radio station this morning. Guilty in Here and Dry Town are neck and neck in their survey.

Of those three songs, Desperation is by far my favorite, but I agree that it probably shouldn't be released (and probably wouldn't do much for album sales). Guilty In Here would probably do better at radio, but artistically, I think Dry Town would be a better release. Guilty In Here is likely to appeal to the same crowd that liked Gunpowder & Lead, whereas Dry Town might drum up a new audience for Miranda. I'm rooting for Dry Town, mostly just because I want to see radio's reaction to such a unique sounding song.

I really hope it's "Guilty In Here". That was my favorite song when I first got the album, and I still haven't gotten tired of it.

A bit of both. It was the first single, but now I think her label is trying to pretend that it wasn't. It came out and stalled, and then they released "Famous In A Small Town" as the first "official" single (whatever that means).

Hmmm as much as this is an all-time favorite CD of mine, I kinda want it die. IM DYING FOR NEW MIRANDA!!!!!!!!
But if I had to decide on another single, I think I'd go with "Guilty In Here." That song is rocking and still hasn't burned on me, but then again, NOTHING from this CD has.

I think 'Guilty In Here' is the best bet following 'More Like Her', but 'Desperation' is my favorite song on the record after 'Gunpowder and Lead' so I would love to see that released.

I really thought that way back when that CE-G was NOT considered the lead off single, but FIAST was.

please let it be "Guilty In Here"! "Desperation" is great but 2 slow Miranda songs in a row is not a good idea. hell, 2 slow songs in a row by anyone is not a good idea. and "Dry Town" is just odd IMO. its catchy, but just plain weird. i'd rather her last single not flop too badly and GIH has the best chance of that.

I will be MORE than happy if "Dry Town" is released. I can careless how well it does at radio. But if it does see the light of day and charts, I will be happy. This is one of the countriest songs I've heard in quite some time. Country radio needs a country song for once. And I love the twang in her voice. My little Texan girl!
But I would be alright with "Desperation" as well. Love the instrumentation in that one and the way she sings it.

the beginning chords of "dry town" remind me of the beginning from the classic "brown eyed girl"....anybody else notice this?
