I love basically the whole album except Looking Up.
That one is still growing on me.
This album is amazing and I hope will have longevity for me which RIOT! didn't have.

Hmmm. Very different album. Alot less melodic than previous efforts and that's my problem with it. I just only 'like' some songs, and the rest don't grab me at all. Good: Careful Ignorance Brick By Boring Brick The Only Exception Decode (if we can count it as being from this album era lol) Everything else just sounds a little uninspired, but I'll give it more time.  Oh yeah, and Hayley sounds so much like Avril on particular songs that it's not amusing. :o Edit: Misguided Ghosts is also pretty good. |

Amazon MP3 has the album for a remarkable $3.99. I'm not too crazy about buying whole albums in MP3 format, but I have a $5.00 Amazon MP3 credit that expires tonight, and I have to say I'm tempted to get it with the credit. If not, I suppose I can try getting it on Saturday if I go to the mall, but I hate to think I'll pay more than I could have, either with the MP3s, or if I can't get to Best Buy this weekend.

I guess...I never connected that comparison and I am a huge fan of both. Also, the strongest track IS All I Wanted. Well, unfortunately the hooks and melodies are too weak on alot of the tracks that I can't get into them enough to care about the lyrical content. I don't really know what they were thinking with this album, it's their weakest release to date for me. I expected something amazing after Riot!, but they seem to have made things more monotonous..  I compare them cause their voices sound exactly the same, lol. The big difference is though, Hayley is a FAR better singer technically. Her singing talent pretty much saves this album from being a complete flop. Meh, nonetheless their fans seem to have lapped up this album so I guess that's all that matters. I was nearly a fan but this has put me off them lol. I can listen to it all but... so few tracks stand out. Alot of them seem to run together cause they have similar pace and such. All I Wanted is far from the strongest track for me, that was a cliche rock ballad to me despite being the fan fave. lol My fave is probably Brick By Boring Brick. |

I don't see the Avril comparison. Hayley's tone is MUCH more pleasing to listen to, especially when she gets into a higher range.

No signs of burnout for me yet, and I've been playing this a whole lot. I think that Brick By Boring Brick and Playing God are in my top ten songs of the year, now that I think about it.
