Love how I was mixed up on the days and thought it was Thursday night, ha ha ha.
Oh well. I'm watching that show tonight!
Also, on that Taylor/Kelly duet, I barely hear Taylor. Disappointing.

it's not really a duet. It's kellie's song. Taylor only sings the back-up vocals.

Yeah, it was quite good. Another fairy tale theme haha. But it was still really nice. A rainy day song. :)

It's kind of the opposite of Love Story actually. It's like the depressing pt. 2 of that song.

Yup. The only parts I really remember are "this isn't a fairy tale" and "you won't be coming on a white horse" or something along those lines.

I like when songs on an album reference other songs. Clever. :)

Pretty late reaction but I just noticed that some of the guitar strums of Love Story sounded like a sampling from Every Breath You Take.

TAYLOR SWIFT/DEF LEPPARD CMT CROSSROADS Monday, Oct. 6th, 2008 @ Acuff Theatre in Nashville, TN by: Chelsea Rae On the night of October 6th, fans of a multi-generational gap entered Acuff Theater to see the likes of Taylor Swift and Def Leppard join forces in the latest edition of CMT Crossroads. The night began with lead guitarists from each of the bands joining at the catwalk to boast the beginning riffs to mega hit "Photograph," Swift grabbing the lead vocals to kick things into hyper frenzy. The crowd responded heavily as if this was the way the song had been sang since its release in '83. The music continued to roll with a rock edge as Swift grabbed the mic Steven Tyler style and ripped through the lyrics of her fourth single "Picture to Burn." Def Leppard front man, Joe Elliot lent his vox to alternating verses and which at times were found slightly comical because of the girlish content of the lyrics, however it melded well together. The theme continued when the infamous glittering guitar belonging to Swift was brought out and lines of "Ridin' shot gun with her hair undone..." filled the theatre. Elliot slowed things down with "Hysteria" while Swift punched in with the harmony. The fifth slot was taken by a new tune Swift has just released as her current single "Love Story," from her sophomore effort "Fearless" set to drop November 11th. The banjo laced ballad references Romeo and Juliet and had an extra added flavor as Elliot rasped through each line of his own. A section of strings were placed stage right and the lights were doused with Swift on the edge of the catwalk accompanied by guitarists Grant Mickelson and Paul Sidoti, intricate picking was followed by Swift's sweet but solemn vocals rolling through lyrics drenched in heart break as the lights were lifted to reveal Elliot who picked up and carried the mood of the acoustically dark rhythm. The song was the band's newest contribution simply known as "Love," it comes off their latest album, "The Sparkle Room," in stores now. The theme of heartache continued as a more rock driven version of "Teardrops on my Guitar," began to play and was quickly followed by Swift's most Def Leppardesque tune, "Should've Said No". Black axe in arms and blonde curls flying Swift and Elliot powered through the recent number one which set the mood for what everyone had been waiting for. After a quick guitar switch, Sidoti now holding a glittering Flying-V and Swift without, Phil Collen popped the leading lick of "Pour Some Sugar On Me," crowd exploding while Swift slashed through the familiar lyrics receiving screams from the crowd. The energy jumped off the Richter scale as the twelve piece band traded riff for riff with little distinction between who belonged with whom at first glance. When asking Swift's guitarist Grant Mickelson about his musical influences he was quick to mention Def Leppard. Mickelson isn't the only one, Swift too was more than overjoyed by the opportunity that she had dreamt of for so long. It was great to see the two generations come together and make the connection as to just how influential this band has been to even hold roots in the Country world. The show will air in early November and is sure to have you off your couch throwin' up a rock sign or two! www.todayscountrymag.com/taylorswiftevent.htm
