With a new album on the way, there’s a lot in store for the fans. Today marks the day that “Give Me The Music”, the first single from Eva’s upcoming album, goes to radio. With the long weekend behind us, “Give Me The Music” is a high-energy piece of summer to hang on to. If you want to hear it now, head over to Eva’s official site, where the track is currently streaming. To celebrate the release of “Give Me The Music”, we’ve also launched a brand new splash page on evaavila.com. While Eva is in the studio putting the finishing touches on the album, she’s brought along a camera to give us a peak at what she’s been up to. Stay tuned for her updates, but in the meantime check out the site for all the latest news and visit the Eva forum to talk about the new single with other fans!

The video's pretty boring, but she looks fucking flawless in it.
So far this has peaked at #36 on the Canadian Hot 100. Wish it was doing better.

So, her record label called us up this week and told us to stop playing the "single" version because they wanted us to play the "album" version... but I'm sorry, I can't hear a lick of difference between the two!

I had no idea her album was out until I saw a TV commercial for it last night.

Future Shop is selling it for $11.99 this week. I saw it in the new releases section when I bought Pink's new CD on Tuesday.

LOL I knew it would, no promo and no real hit single. However, it is worthy of mention that this climbed up to a new peak of #21 on the Canadian Hot 100.

Wow...#63 is only like 100 copies, right?

Wow This is a shame because she does have a good voice.
Where did it all go so wrong for her?

I don't know what to say. Given that this was her sophomore effort, you think that she would've been able to match the first-week sales of her debut or perhaps outperform it. Plus, it seemed like she was doing quite a bit of promotion all over the place, namely radio stations and on MuchMusic.
It's very well possible that her album might have gotten lost in the shuffle with so many others (Celine Dion, Pink, Snow Patrol, Big Shiny Tunes 13, etc.) that were released on the same day and went on to sell more copies.
With Eva's debut, I think Canada was curious to see what she had to offer. For the second album, it's slightly different, depending on her fanbase and how well her music is received across different parts of the country. Sure, there's radio, but that's only part of the equation.
In that case, the album sales were slightly higher more in Ottawa where she hails from (technically she's from Gatineau, which is across the river but is considered part of the capital region). There, it came in at #20, whereas it finished lower in other places.

Shame, I hope we do get to hear music from her in the future and this doesn't "kill" her career.
I haven't actually listened to the album fully but so far it seems solid enough if unspectacular

It was one of the label's biggest projects of the year. A large promotional campaign with appearances on much music and radio stations. It received greater priority over Theo Tam's project. He was given more time to record his album. Eva has said herself that the album was a "rushed project" to get it out in time for the holiday season. What Sony in Canada might or should try to do is release a follow-up single to boost the album's sales.
Moreover, Burton Cumming's latest album debuted at number 17 on Top 100 chart in Canada, with little promotion and less priority than Eva's project.
