George Strait is Nr. 1 at Billboard Real Time Tracker. :o Don't worry about early-morning RTT numbers. Darius is back on top at 10am Eastern time, and Taylor is probably still ahead of George in audience as well. He is gaining on her, though, if you judge from MB's numbers. Jonsolo is rarely wrong with his crazed Strait-related theories.

One probable reason for her abnormally large gain of 519 spins in moving from #2 to #1 is that Country Aircheck added three reporters---WPOC/Baltimore, WMZQ/Washington & KCYY/San Antonio. something seemed a little fishy when they added a new station - WTAY/Hendersonville. :) ;) :)

I really don't understand how Country radio works, at all. White Horse had more spins and more audience than any other song this week (Sunday included) and if it doesn't make it to number one this week it would be completely ridiculous.

Darius had more Audience impressions on Sunday. she just passed him yesterday or today. she should be #1 next week. i dont see how she wont. but apparently she wont be #1.

Taylor had more audience impressions than him on the Sunday afternoon update.

I love how members of this board think they are the be all-end all of the published charts. Leave it to the professionals.

Umm...I would say posters like Zazie and Jon Solo are about as professional as you can get, and the country chart is relatively predictable. "White Horse" is down 400k for the week and "River Of Love" is up 500k. Add that to the fact that Taylor already hit #1 on Country Aircheck, and you should be able to conclude that George will likely be #1 next week.

Anyway, now that this song is falling, I would think we'll get word of what the next single is pretty soon. I'm expecting and hoping the title track will be released next.

You don't have to be a professional to see that a song with the most audience and spins on the last update Sunday should be #1 for the week. lol

You don't have to be a professional to see that a song with the most audience and spins on the last update Sunday should be #1 for the week. lol You really should be looking at the #1 song on the Real Time Tracker if you want to know who will be #1 on Billboard for the week. Looking at the last afternoon update from Mediabase when Billboard is using BDS data isn't always going to tell you who will be #1. Seeing that Darius was at #1 on the RTT on Monday morning and stayed there the entire week was a clear indication he was getting his third week. This week, Darius and George have been the only ones that have been at #1, and it's obvious that Darius isn't going to hang on for another week so it's pretty apparent that George will be #1 next week.

To be perfectly honest I am completely bewildered by how the Country chart is ranked on All Access/Media (radio). For example currently you have Shuttin Down Detroit placing above Ride when it has less in AI (1.4 million actually) which tells me that the chart isn't ranked by airplay. It also has Sideways currently ranked above I Will even though it has 79 less spins so it obviously can't be ranked by spins either. What exactly is the method Country radio uses to rank its singles if not by airplay or spins? ??? 13 11 JOHN RICH Shuttin' Detroit Dow... 2903 2745 158 19.08914 12 MARTINA MCBRIDE Ride 2801 2737 64 20.51722 17 DIERKS BENTLEY Sideways 2225 1758 467 15.440 18 18 JIMMY WAYNE I Will 2304 2239 65 14.054

Mediabase/Country Aircheck uses a points formula to determine their ranking. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but there can be cases where songs are ranked higher even though they have less audience and less spins. I always preferred the BB method which ranks the songs strictly by audience. In the past, they had ranked their charts by spins but changed that when it was apparent certain songs were making it to #1 by amassing tons of nighttime spins. Now they go with just the audience as the basis for their chart positions. I know there are others on this board who know more about the point formula that MB uses, so maybe they can give you an explanation on how it works. But back to the topic of "White Horse", I am surprised that it appears that Taylor's label is not pushing for a #1 song on BB/R&R as well. It does appear that some labels are just happy to be able to say they had a #1 song on one of the charts.

Has it already been confirmed that White Horse did not achieve #1 this week on the Billboard chart? Or is this just speculation?

NEXT SINGLE PREDICTION: "You Belong With Me" write it down... ;) i severly hope not this song is totally immature compared to love story and white horse and i'm sorry to say will make taylor look really young and kind of stupid in a way. i think she is too old to keep making music in this style and needs to seriously start maturing in her songwriting for future albums. i mean its great as an album cut, but as a single....STOP ALREADY. She has already gone on her first date, had a million boyfriends/breakups, graduated from high school...we get it. get some new material PLEASE Taylor!!

The formula works, so they're gonna stick with it. The bulk of her audience is 12 year old girls, who will absolutely love this type of song. Same goes with "Forever and Always". Personally I wish she would release "Fifteen" or "The Best Day", but I doubt that will happen.

It's not speculation. The chart highlights were posted very early and Darius was confirmed to be #1. Moreover, the full chart is already out. I'm assuming you know that the R&R chart is the same as Billboard's. They both use BDS. As for the progress of this week's chart where George is indeed ahead, all I can say is: Jonsolo is a freak. Let this serve as a notice to all that I will never taunt him again. Ever. Kidding aside, I am a bit surprised that Taylor's team is settling for a Mediabase/ Aircheck #1, when a Billboard #1 is very doable as well.

^ Yup, sure did. If they didn't give a final "push" for WH this week, it won't even have reached No.1 on Mediabase. I guess the management concentrated too much on Love Story that they neglected WH a bit. A shame though since I think WH is a better single than LS. And in reply to another person saying "You Belong With Me" is too immature compared to LS...... I don't agree. As in, I thought LS is just as immature LOL. Most of the songs on her album are immature anyway Fifteen is a definitely a slightly more mature song... but I highly doubt they will follow WH up with another ballad.
