According to AllAccess, "White Horse" is the next single from Taylor Swift. It goes for adds Dec. 8th.

The obvious second single choice. Should do very well. They seem to be following the same single strategy as her debut. The mid-tempo love song, the ballad, and then hopefully a happy love song (Fearless please!)

Kinda contradicts her last single "Love Story" huh... "You'll be the prince and I'll be the Princess."-Love Story "I'm not a princess."-White horse
LOL.

It's kind of a depressing continuation of Love Story.. she talks about how she fantasizes about being a princess in a fairy tale in LS, and then says in this one "now I know, I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairy tale.."

Now maybe after this she should cover Amanda Marshall's Mila Mason's the song that was a hit for Amanda Marshall then later one for Mila Mason, "Dark Horse".

Very disappointed in this choice as it is probably my least favorite track on the album. But I was just as disappointed when "Teardrops" was released 2nd off the last CD, and we all know how big of a hit that became.

Strongest track on the CD. Brilliant choice both commercially and artistically. Not sure if it will do anything on pop, but it should do very well on country.

Haha I dont get why they would release a song that says "love is not a fairy tale" directly after "love story"...which is about a fairy tale....but i mean "WH" is a strong song so i guess they are ok overlooking glaring contradictions...

Yep, there is no contradiction. In this song the key lyrical words that rule out a contradiction are "now I know". She just simply wasn't aware with "Love Story". Anyways this will be a(nother) big hit for her. It is a beautiful song. Easily her next #1.

The 2009 chart year begins on November 30th, which makes this scintillating tune's GFA date downrght perfect.
A mortal-lock #1 single (duh!!!), and the race for 2009's #1 single starts here.
At least, pencil a spot in next year's year-end top ten for this wonderful song from a very solid CD.

I'm very pleased to see this as the 2nd single. I wasn't a big fan of the direction that the new album took Taylor, but this was a notable bright spot. The production is surprisingly low-key, and I really like her phrasing throughout the song. Plus the lyric seems very genuine (a problem with some of the songs on Fearless) and has a sense of genuine innocence that really sells the song.

Not a surprising choice, seeing how it's probably the strongest song on the album (from a songwriting standpoint).
Not a fan of the new album, but I do really like this song. I don't think it will have any trouble climbing to number 1 for her.

This song is going to annoy me until I figure out where I've heard the verse's hook before. Then it's going to annoy me because I've heard the verse's hook before. I was thinking the verse hook was derivative of Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved," (the "It's not always rainbows and butterflies, it's compromise..." part), but there's an even closer match out there somewhere. And the rhythmic cadence of the chorus matches the chorus of Saving Jane's "Girl Next Door," a song whose melody Taylor already cribbed in "I'd Lie." That said, good strategic choice in that it dovetails nicely with her current real life tale of woe. And more importantly, Taylor sounds very pretty on this. I would say this is the most effective interpretive vocal I've heard from her. Taylor's phrasing choices, usually one of her weaknesses, is spot on here. Even when she turns up the volume on her vocal, the half-choked/not quite in control sound works for the lyric. I'm not motivated to review the album in detail (at least not at the moment), but this song, "Hey Stephen" and "Fearless" struck me as likely singles. The only other song I really remember is the one whose verses ape One Republic's "Apologize." Oh, and "Breathe," because it made me think that if Taylor can learn to stop pushing her voice to places it can't handle, she could mature into a Colbie Caillat, only with more personality.

Good choice. Lyrically the most mature, artistic track on the album with a pretty melody. My favorite track on the album, though, has to be "You Belong to Me," which I expect will be a single later on. "She wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts/She's cheer captain and I'm in the bleachers" always makes me smile. This song is going to annoy me until I figure out where I've heard the verse's hook before. Lol, "Fifteen" bugged me for a day or two until I realized she sings the word "fifteen" in exactly the same way as Five for Fighting in "100 Years."

I personally wish they went with breathe...i'm a huge Taylor fan, but am getting a little sick of the whole totally in love/heartbroken stuff she ALWAYS has to have as singles...i think something like fifteen, the best day, or even change would be a nice alternative.

GREAT CHOICE! At first I was not a huge fan of this (when it leaked 2 months ago) but then I really listened to this song and I realized that this song was a masterpiece. She sounds the best she ever has, and it is by far the most mature song from her. Its different and I am glad she released that for that reason alone, because the happy-go-lucky love songs and revenge songs need a break.
I am ecstatic that this is the next single! This whole album is great, but this was definitely one of the standout tracks. "Hey Stephen", "Fearless", "You're Not Sorry", and "Forever & Always" are my other favorites besides this song. I am really hoping "Fearless" and "Hey Stephen" are singles because I can't get those songs out of my head right now. They are just so catchy!

Dudley, I noticed the "Apologize" update, and I think it would be a great choice for the next single. I hear the Maroon 5 as well, but I know there is a song that matches it better too.

It's a great song and I hear no Maroon 5 in it. Not only do critics like but almost 600,000 last week and probably over 300, 000 this week. I think if it was as transparent as yall are making it out to be the critics would be all over it.

Don't be silly. Of course you can voice your opinion on the song. Just make sure that that opinion is glowingly positive!
