This is actually one of the few songs I love from Taylor. Music is all subjective.

it's a slow and sad ballad song, which in general is love or hate...

OT but 'Our Song' has been remixed for UK radio, its a bit less country but more AC, it actually still sounds great though :)
'White Horse' went to #60 in the UK without being a single but there is no word of releasing it.

This is right up there with Our Song as my favorite single from Taylor. The lyrics are outstanding. I'm completely the opposite of a couple of folks -- this is a song that lyrically, to me, is strong enough to gain attention no matter who sings it.
By the way, I saw Taylor at the Houston Rodeo last week, and she sounded fantastic. Anyone concerned about her ability to sing live is going to be pleasantly surprised. It was my first time to see her live, and as an entertainer, she really is top notch. She has so much charisma that it's ridiculous. Rodeo crowds are usually subdued because they're so far away from the stage... but she had every seat in Reliant Stadium packed, and the energy even in the upper deck just blew away the other concerts I had seen there. It was a great show.

I think it's easily her best lyric yet (Our Song is still my favorite song of hers, but this is probably better lyrically). Unlike a lot of Taylor's song, I think this would do well on the (country) charts with any vocalist behind it.

This song is really coming on strong right now...when do you think Taylor will take over the #1 spot?

Taylor is #1 on Mediabase as of this morning. I doubt she'll catch Darius on Billboard this week, but I would expect her to take over #1 on that chart the following week.

I can't believe how fast this took over the #1 spot...when is the Billboard cut-off for this week?

What led to this jumping like 300 spins in a day or two? Something is fishy there.

It does have the #1 on Aircheck/Mediabase sown up for this week, but if it just misses on Billboard, I wonder if that will be good enough for the label, and it starts to drop next week. Sometimes a #1 on just one of the two major charts is enough for the promo teams, and especially since the bullet grew so quickly on this one, maybe they saw an opening on Mediabase, went for the surge to get it, and then will call off the dogs next week, not caring what happens at Billboard.
Of course, in the spirit of full disclosure, this is a huge Strait fan who is floating that theory, and also hoping that that is enough for Swift, so that George gets a shot on Billboard next week.

Strait's label has really cranked up their ad campaign for his tune in Country Aircheck over the past 2 1/2 weeks, so the push to get him to #1 is definitely in full force, although it does appear that Mediabase might have added a couple of stations to their panel of reporters in the past few days.
Ms. Swift's gain in spins (+519) to move from #2 to #1 is much larger than usual, and the possible modification in Mediabase's panel size could also be somewhat responsible.

I say this in the nicest tone possible: Dream on, dude! From what we've previously seen from Taylor's team, especially PR and promo-wise, I can guarantee you they will not stop with just an Aircheck/Mediabase #1.

Big Machine never seems to settle for Mediabase-only. They're good at pushing songs to #1 ("Wherever You Are", "Our Song", "More Than a Memory").

Darius leads Taylor by 400k even on MB, and should have a bigger lead on Billboard. George will have to wait his turn, and a 23-week climb to #1 is not Georgelike. But the ads do make it look like he's committed to the effort.

I think, George goes not to Nr. 1. After Taylor goes evtl. Rodney Atkins to 1.

How many weeks did it take for this to get to #1? Assuming it hits #1 on BB next week, that will be 19 weeks. I'm not sure about MB/CA though. I imagine its 1 or 2 weeks less.

This is her 17th week on the charts at Mediabase/Country Aircheck; she debuted @ #39 in the issue dated 12-1-08.
One probable reason for her abnormally large gain of 519 spins in moving from #2 to #1 is that Country Aircheck added three reporters---WPOC/Baltimore, WMZQ/Washington & KCYY/San Antonio.
