you people are crazy to think taylor was good as she was barely in tune lol The two of them plus these clowns on now should be nowhere near this stage I'll agree with you on Miley, but Taylor was in tune the entire performance.

Overall it was poor but not as bad as taylors ex who the grammys disgraced themselves getting them to sing with a legend like stevie

Well I love Taylor. I think she is crazy talented and she continues to impress me, but I'll willingly admit that she's not a great live singer. Tonight she sounded pretty good though. I don't understand why her or Cyrus are there since neither are nominated, but oh well. Any of the other Female Vocalist nominees would have given a more impressive performance, in my opinion.

Let's see...a few Carrie fans think Taylor sounds like crap, a Taylor fan and a LeAnn fan thinks Carrie had an off-night...really, I'm stunned. Maybe I should have just scripted the likely exchange of views in a post and saved us all some time.
As ever, I'm not in a babysitting mood and I'm not happy that I can't step away for a couple of hours without the same old people pulling the same tired crap.
So from this point forward, if I see anything that can remotely be construed as fanwar crap in this or other Grammy threads, the offender(s) will be getting at least a day off from the board. That means that, before posting, take a good, hard look at your posting history. If you have a history of being an intense fan of an artist like Taylor or Carrie, or if you've made derisive or dismissive comments about one or the other before, you should step out of the conversation unless you have something nice to say. And if you have a history of being an intense fan of an artist like Taylor or Carrie, we only need to read about how much you lurved their performances once. Don't post to defend your fave because you will almost inevitably get argumentative doing so.
And for the record, Taylor., fischbone, storm and lullaby, I am especially directing my comments at you.

Honestly, I'm glad Carrie won. I think there's a segment of fans here who basically dismiss any song that's not a ballad or overly inspirational from being an award-deserving song, and I think that's selling music short. There's a place for catchy, creative numbers like Last Name, and as far as songs like that go, I thought it was very effective. (And I say that as someone who's not the biggest Carrie fan on this board.)
I also thought Taylor sounded excellent tonight.

He's getting the pitch right, but he still sounds sick at parts. But others he sounds better than ever.

haha my bad, I didn't mean to sound like I didn't like anyone. If you think I was being negative about Carrie, I would have just preferred to see a performance that made country look GOOD. Like her "Just A Dream" from the CMAs. It's just weird that Taylor's vocals were in the spotlight while Carrie's performance skills were. It should have been reversed.
For the record, since I was labeled as a LeAnn fan, which I certainly won't deny, I am pleased with her being nominated for a third consecutive year. I don't ever actually expect her to win anything as long as Carrie and Taylor are still around.

Carrie did awesome tonight! She had an incredible performance! I'm so happy that she won too! I thought Miley and Taylor did much better than I expected. I was surprised!

My only comment regarding Carrie was that she had an off-night. I have not said anything rude to anyone who said Taylor was bad. These are all three comments I've made in this thread tonight. I was surprised at how good Taylor was. I usually expect poor performances on live award shows, but she sounded quite good. Miley on the other hand.. you people are crazy to think taylor was good as she was barely in tune lol The two of them plus these clowns on now should be nowhere near this stage I'll agree with you on Miley, but Taylor was in tune the entire performance. And for the record I was thrilled that Carrie won tonight, and actually said she was sounding good in the actual Grammy thread. It wasn't until she started screaming since her mic was screwed up did the performance take a turn for the worse IMO.

Thanks Dudley! I knew you were coming soon enough (I guess some of these people just don't understand how to post properly even after you've explained countless times).
Anyways, I had told myself I probably wasn't going to watch, but I am anyway, and so far, I think all of the country performers have done well (including Taylor actually). I wish Carrie would have sang "I Told You So" or a tribute that would showcase her vocals (and not just her high register vocals which everyone knows she can do, but her more subdue vocals which are wonderful). I really didn't want her to sing "Last Name", but she did good anyways (the band was a bit loud though). I am a little shocked she won a Grammy for "Last Name", but as a Carrie fan, I can't be unhappy about it.
And even though I don't typically like Taylor's voice (recorded or live, but especially live), I was stunned because I actually thought she sounded good, and it was a live performance. As others have said, though, Miley ruined it unfortunately.
And I'm glad Kenny chose "Better As A Memory" to perform instead of "Everybody Want To Go To Heaven" or "Shiftwork." "Down The Road" would have been nice too, but that's all right.
So far, I honestly think the country performances have been the best of the night. I'm now listening to the worst mess I've ever heard.
Edit: Oh, and I was crossing my fingers and toes for Lady Antebellum. Bummer they didn't win. I bet that Lady Antebellum ends up being around longer than the rest of the nominees for the award. And the winner was smacking gum during her acceptance speech! Did she really have to do that? (sorry, I know that's completely unrelated, but I had to get that off my chest)

I hate coming here and seeing you in just about every thread saying "this can be said or that can be said but you can't say this". We are all adults (for the most part anyway) after all. And as always, congrats to Sugarland for their wins with STAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but i dont see anything that Matt or Taylor did wrong. I misattributed a post to Matt = carriefan0209, so you're right that I shouldn't have included his name. Everything else I'll address via PM to anyone seeking clarification.

Nah, I Saw God Today beat it out at the CMA's for either single or song... I remember because I was very disappointed Stay didn't win.

wow, Taylor was amazing! best i have ever heard her! cant wait for Sugarland to sing "Stay" and blow everyone away! one of Taylor's better performances here. but funny how the media think Miley was the one who sounded better Sugarland was just amazing. I love the duet they did with Adele :)
