Out of the Mediabase chart. I guess Open House Party did not play it last weekend. It's just out of the top 100. My guess is that it's just outside of the top 100 positions, because it has 57 spins this week, so it must've gotten some OHP play last week, just not as much as the week before.

OHP is definitely causing a couple of stations to play the song outside of the show. +5 on Quick Cut for a total of 62 POP spins over the past couple of days. :) Hopefully enough for it to slip back into the top 100.

I understand if Pop doesn't want to play M since she's 50, but the Hot AC stations and listeners should be eating this up.

^WBR doesn't want to pay the $ needed to get MA added at radio.

Which is why radio needs to pick it up on its own. As long as it's getting play on OHP, there's a chance the stations that carry the show will pick up on it outside of the show, and that other stations take notice.

This album had 3 sure hits: 4M, MA and BGO. I think they should go with Miles Away as the lead single since it'd get airplay anyway, then go with 4M for the obvious reasons and then with BGO to keep the momentum going. I don't get why they put Kanye on a song if it wouldn't be released.

They'll probably release another single if this can pick up. Releasing a 4th single internationally is a little more probable though. Anyway, this is a +3 on Quick Cut. :)

I'm angry that this era got messed up by a wrong 2nd single, just like Mariah and Usher. :(

I wish they would at least give this an adds date. Even a live video would even suffice for promotion at this point, but we don't even get that. What a waste of a great song.
Thanks for the updates Azriel!

Yeah, this era could have been planned much better...
Actually I agree "Miles Away" first might have been a good idea...
However "GI2M" was certainly the wrong choice for single because it was way to out there. It is a dance highlight of the album... but the funny thing is "Miles Away" has the hot Mixes... The "Morgan Page Mix" is just off the hook.
Beat Goes On ... should have been the third single after "Miles Away"...
I should mention I completely adore "Heartbeat" although I believe it could have been worked more on the production side. It sounds like such a hit to me but the high pitch vocals on the verse "that the light shines on" should have been her deep vocal she likes to use alot of the time ... and the boot get down should have dropped off the face of the planet.

Yeah that's true, but I still think that GI2M was an particularly bad choice in that it doesn't seem to go anywhere and doesn't posses a real hook until the very end. BGO would have stood a better chance imo. Anyhow, I don't think Madonna herself really cares much about this stuff atm. To her, 2008 will probably always remain the year that her second marriage fell apart.

Nu audience impression peak - 0.94 million (which will tumble if it's not played on OHP tonight)

i mean does pharrel EVER have big hits? i can't think of one in the past 5 years! Pharrell was part of the production team The Neptunes with Chad Hugo. Some of their hits include "I'm A Slave 4 U", "Hot In Herre", "Milkshake", "Hella Good", and Justin Timberlake's first solo album. There's probably more that I forgot. Though he hasn't had much success in the U.S. with his solo albums/releases/singles, especially during recent years.

Any other second single chosen from Hard Candy could have done just as badly even if it featured Justin, Pharrell, or Kanye. There's really no way to truly know. i thought from the start "give it 2 me" was one of the worst songs on the album and doomed to fail. i think any of the justin/timbaland songs would have been a much safer bet. i mean does pharrel EVER have big hits? i can't think of one in the past 5 years! Whaaaat? I thought pretty everyone agreed that Give it 2 me was one of the few standouts on a mediocre album. Maybe it wasn't THE most radio friendly, but quality and radio friendliness tend to go in opposite directions.

Must not have been played on OHP; down to 39 spins. :( But that still means it's getting play outside of OHP, and next year it can pick up again.
