It sucks that Pop radio doesn't really warm up to Madonna songs that easily anymore.

One of Maddy's best of the last decade, but it flopped hard... not only because of radios, but also because a shameful management of this era. Atrocious result of an album that could have at least generated a couple of Top 40s. Disappointing.

This should have been the 2nd single. It wouldn't have been a huge hit, but it would have done better than GI2M imo.

We have Wendy's and Kohl's.... all we need is a Radio Shack and we have a smash! J/k
I didn't care much for Give it To Me... I actually think Beat Goes On would have done well... especially with Timbaland on it.

The Beat Goes On would've been HUGE. Madonna sounds like a witch on it. LOVE LOVE LOVE that song!!!!! It would've been another Music!

Continues to refuse to completely fade away. Had a +4 this morning and another +1 in the afternoon, bringing it back up to 10 spins which is better than nothing. :)

Sad that this song and era flopped! I really liked the song, and loved 4 Minutes!

I liked this song the best off the CD but it was a mediocre effort. the whole era felt like Madonna put out a record because she felt it was time to do another instead of having any sort of interest in putting a good CD out.

12 spins on Quick Cut, which is a +3 from yesterday morning or a +2 from the final update. :)

I disagree. HC is a much better album than AL (duh) or Music. Music had some classics, but it was so uneven. I always listen to Heartbeat, Miles Away, She's Not Me, Incredible, The Beat Goes On and Dance Tonight all in a row. I skip Spanish Lesson and then The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You. These 7 are great, great songs.

Indeed, David, indeed. :)
bigham, for me, Music is the better album (most probably would agree, I'd think). The title track, Don't Tell Me, Impressive Instant, Nobody's Perfect, Paradise- love those. I Deserve It and Gone are nice, and while not as strong as the others, Runaway Lover and Amazing are listenable and enjoyable. I criticize WIFLFAG often, but it's not a bad track by any means.
I hardly listen to HC (then again, I don't listen to M albums as much as I usd to). There aren't relaly any trackso n HC that I go gaga over. GI2M, MA, Heartbeat, BGO would be my favorites.

Hard Candy is actually the first Madonna album that I've enjoyed as a whole in years. Music had great singles but I wasn't a huge fan of the other tracks. American Life was disappointing. Confessions on a Dancefloor was a great album but I only loved about half of the tracks and the rest were so-so. While the current album wasn't her best, it was the one I enjoyed most out of the ones she released this decade.
In terms of this song, I love it. I think it would have been a much stronger follow-up to "4 Minutes" than "Give It 2 Me", although I liked that song too. It's a shame this flopped but the tour seemed to be the main focus. I don't blame her because she's making more money with that tour than she ever would trying to push or support her singles.

I miss Like a Prayer - Ray of Light Madonna. So many interesting choices, so much in your face (that wasn't just SEX). God, I was young and I still want that Madonna back.

If we were to apply aTunes' flop theory to this song, this would fit perfectly into 'the Scherzinger' category. :(

Indeed it would, but it was inevitable that's where the 3rd single was heading after the 2nd single mis-step. e
