Sent out to radio today, no add date listed.
I'm glad they scratched "Love" if it was ever intended to be released as the next single. I was thinking more and more that it would not be released after so much time passed without it being sent to radio.

This is one of my favorite songs and has been since before the album was released. It was one of the first songs that was leaked out on youtube. It's a good choice. Much more radio friendly then Love. I had finally started really loving Love but this is so much better!

This is a great single choice. Should go Top 3 without any trouble.

Great, great choice. So much better than "Love". I could see this hitting #1 and staying for at least a couple weeks.
With this being single #3, they could still potentially release all of the really radio friendly tracks if they go 5-6 singles deep.

*sigh* I figured this would be released at one point or another. Radio-friendly, sure. But one of the worst songs on Love on the Inside (for me) and I wish they weren't going back to a cutesy novelty song this soon after "All I Want to Do."
The other thing that bugs me about this song is that it is the most derivative track on LotI. The verse melody follows the same intervals as the verses of Dolly Parton's "9 to 5," if I'm not mistaken. Maybe that's just them being clever and calling up the thematic similarity. But I'm not keen on it.
I think the band and its team has its ears on the ground and must have noticed the response to "Very Last Country Song," so I believe it will be released from this album eventually.
Anyway, thanks for the heads up, rowdawg21. Oh, and while I'm here, avalyn, thanks for answering my question about whether Sugarland/Jennifer Nettles had won any Grammys prior to last night.

I agree that "Very Last Country Song" should and will be released eventually. My ideal release schedule following "It Happens" would be to release "Take Me As I Am" in July/August, and then send out VLCS as November approaches. Then, if time permits, "Joey" or "We Run" (preferably Joey") next spring.

They have claimed they got the styling idea for the song from Queen of Hearts by Juice Newton. Which makes sense since Juice is one of Jennifer's musical influences growing up. I can see the 9 to 5 thing has well though now that you mention it.

Besides Love, this is one of the worst songs on the album.

Oh, thank god! I think Love would have been a huge bore on radio, this however, should do well!

I don't care what they release from this subpar album. I'm just ready for new music. It'll be too long of a wait until another album is released. *sigh*

Random fact. This is the third single in a row co-written by Bobby Pinson. He seems to be a favorite co-write of theirs.
I forgot to mention the nice full page add for this song in Country Aircheck weekly. It said it's impacting immediately. Can't wait to hear it.

It's far from their best, but it's fun and I won't turn the station when I hear it. As far as I'm concerned they should release The Very Last Country Song and then move on to a new album.

I remember when it was up for reviews when it was released and I want to most reviews suggested this song or Steve Earle. That may be why people have it and know about it. That's the only thing that I could think.

Track 11. Another humorous song, though I doubt it will ever be released. I'm surprised that so many people dislike the album, but I guess different people have different tastes. This was my favorite album of '08, in any genre.

I hope Sugarland performs this at the awards! I love them sooo much and other than Kellie P, and Shania they are my favorite country artists! Nettles has such an amazing voice.
I loved Love but agree this song is a better single. I hope it goes top 10!

This album goes from pop country hits/Twangy country songs/country slow songs/two stepping dance tracks/ Its a Great album and my fav by them! its still doing better then all of their other albums so far i think

This starts its run at #40 this week. That didn't take long after being announced as the next single.
