I don't think the album has underperformed in the slightest. It's the singles that haven't exactly lit the charts on fire.

Unexpected update today:
576 Spins (+14) 1 Bullet (+20)
Still don't think it'll be back inside top 50 on expanded panel though. 8 spins out from the top 50. Could be back there tomorrow once it passes California Liar, but might miss out on Sunday with Shakira coming up fast.
EDIT: Oh yes, this is getting adds again. It's listed on Taking Off with 1 new station and 8 new spins and according to the most recent adds report it has two new stations:
WAEZ-FM Johnson City(#102) KHOP-FM Modesto, CA (#109)

QUICK CUT:
583 Spins (+8) 5 Bullet (+11)
EDIT: With the afternoon update, this is back in the top 50 on expanded panel:

I think he should of done a Daughtry, and started a band rather go solo. I don't see the difference. He does have his set band that plays with him but they're just not credited There's not a difference. I'm sure Daughtry's "band" are simply hired musicians if you were to look at their contracts. The difference is the *perception* that Daughtry is a band. He still writes with outside writers so the only difference to me is that he is using his hired bandmates on the album recording. I assume this to be the case. I don't follow Daugthry so I don't know for sure. Oh yeah, I'm sure there are some songs that other bandmembers have a co-write on. Actually, it's not much different than the "old" Matchbox Twenty. The members played on the albums but Rob was the sole songwriter until the last album. And two of the original 5 members were just hired musicians. This is probably actually more common than not.

This is 40 spins away from its current spin peak (expanded panel) which is 643 spins. If it keeps going up like it has been the past few updates, it could clear this and have another crack at top 50/40. We'll have to see whether it gets any more adds this week.

Azriel still tracking this flop? You have a great eye for flops. I mean you loved this, Bottle it up, His payola must just be enough to keep it afloat. Poor Cook!

If this song makes the top 40 I will eat my shoe. I really really doubt it will happen.

lame! Talk to me when it gets to #41(oh wait it never did)and it was a 2nd single from the American Idol not the 4th single from B&B both who had their last 3 singles peak higher than any of Cooks. Ouch keep lovin ur flops long time and I'll be lovin the Queens. R U sure ur not a Cerror fan? She can probably score ya a free Big Mac or two if your feeling depressed that ur flops arent becoming hits....xixi

EXPANDED PANEL: 51 50 DAVID COOK Come Back To Me 611 562 49 1.453 -6 Spins -11 Bullet -0.023 Audience I expect this every update, tbh. It's just nice to see it increase, and it always seems to have one or two losses, then it goes right back to truckin' along.

Out of the top 50 on expanded panel. 600 Spins (-11) 24 Bullet (-25) I'm wondering if there's been panel-shuffling again; I haven't looked at other songs, but on Quick Cut this had a +67 on Hot AC while the main chart only had a +4. Possibly a stretch I know, but after the Clear Channel playlist thing I've been suspicious-to-the-point-of-paranoia about the workings of the charts.

Taking its next forward step:
603 Spins (+3) 28 Bullet (+4)
Should be back in the top 50 expanded panel tomorrow after recurrents are removed.

Love this song. I think its the trend of the chart at the moment, that made this underform. Theres not enough "Boom Boom Pow" or dance beats to Cook's music for it to chart well.

It sure has longevity though so it's not all bad. Btw do his singles chart anywhere else outside of pop? Like AC, HAC, AAA etc.?

Wow--I actually have something to contribute.
Yes, his singles have done very well on HAC. All 3 have gone top 10. Only two other males have achieved this: John Mayer and Rob Thomas.
Time of My Life was #1 on AC for something like 18 weeks or something. LO has performed well there also.
Back to CHR...this song amazes me. It just hangs on, floating magically around 50. I wish it would either jump up to Top 20 (which it won't) or just be over, so a new single will get released.

Mr. Cook unfornately made a huge mistake by not forming a band. His work has now ended up failing to appeal to either the rock charts or pop. At this stage all he can hope for is a few hits on AC. Songs such as "Come Back to Me" would never chart on Rock and would struggle on pop as being shown. I mean him performing it on Idol only gave it a debut of #63. This is a shame as he is one talented musician. He may well end up being more of an album artist.

^ Funny you should mention the rock format; it probably will go nowhere a la 'Bar-Ba-Sol' but it started getting play on that format this week -- up to 12 spins.

599 Spins (-4) 13 Bullet (-15)
Given the up-and-down nature of this song's run, I wouldn't call it over until it has a week's worth of losses. Hopefully it'll be back in the top 50 on expanded panel in the final Sunday update.
