I've always had this #4 CHR peak in my head for this song, ever since I first heard it.

Personally i think this song will finally established (beyond doubt) the singing abilitiy of Kathy. I've listened to several clips of her live performances of this song - and she sounds really good! And really amazing - her singing (live) has improved significantly. And best of all, apart from displaying commendable technical vocal skills , she can actually emote-out the feelings/naunces of the song. Kathy's singing style reminds me of Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries - an excellent vocalist who excelled in celtic/indie tunes.
Oh yes - before I forget - got to say that this is a very well-written song with great melody. Its got depth - which means it could turn out to be a timeless classic...

You should stick around on Pulse. :) I think penpal99 has good comments, respectable, but also disagreeable ;) To me, there is a BIG HUGE difference between Dolores O' Riordan and Katy Perry. Once I compared Katy with Alanis. I think that was a bit more similar comparison, given that the range, power and technical abilities of Dolores is above Alanis'. And even the comparison with Alanis' anger and atittude was a bit stretched. I am not a Katy H8er, but am not a Katy fan either. I thought her first 2 singles were very good, that she made horrendous live performances, but she has improved too. I think her style in WUIV is much better than TOY for example, with her ups and downs, falsettos, etc., but I still think that TOY is one of the worst sung Pop songs in recent times. And I am not a hater of the style, since I love for example Dolores' interpretation of Zombie or Hollywood. But there is a difference between having the chops to pull the falsettos and nuances of a song and trying to do it without good enough abilities and failing at the attempt, which IMO was Katy's problem. I hope this song is a hit, though, because in this case Katy does her thing without exaggeration and she pulled that off. So I hope this can be a hit and prove anyone she can be successful even without a traditional way of singing, but when she knows where her limits are. Good luck to her! (but please, leave Dolores aside )

I like Katy and I hope she does not fade away. I know that is an unpopular opinion, but I think she made a fun cd and is a fun songwriter. I hope she continues to have at least a little success musically and writing for other people. Of course, that means I want WUIV to be a hit so that she can get some momentum back.

I think it's likely for her to have a hit with this at least.
Radio seems to be warming up to it faster than "Thinking Of You"
