Does this really have a chance against Z100? I don't think so.

Yeah I'll give it a shot but I don't get why they would want another CHR in this market. z100 is huge, and I don't see too many switching to the new station. z100 covers pretty much everything so we don't really need two CHRs.
But I'll see what it's like. What I really hope DOESN'T happen is I hope they don't lean rhythmic and cause z100 to lean rhythmic.

we mentioned this before....cbs radio the owner doesnt have a 18-34 leaning station in NY....this gives them that....they know they wont beat Z100 they just want a piece of the pie....+ that age demo group is very fickle & will they listen to both stations.

^Exactly. You don't hear people saying "Oh, I'm not listening to that station, I'm a z100 girl". lol People flip through stations all the time. I flip between my pop, rhythmic & hot ac stations multiple times throughout the day.
So Friday should see a nice boost to the bullets.

Careful there's no adds date for this...the mods might lock it. heres the article from R&R....its debuts 5:00pm tomorrow: It's 'Now' Time For K-Rock/N.Y. Top 40 '92.3 Now FM' dawns on Wednesday By Keith Berman CBS Radio has sounded the last call for rock WXRK (92.3 K-Rock)/New York -- again: As first rumored by Street Talk Daily, the station will be flipping at 5 p.m. on Wednesday (March 11) to top 40 as "92.3 Now FM." Dom Theodore, CBS Radio's VP of CHR programming, will program the station for now, with airstaff announcements coming within the first week. Just like CBS Radio's recent launch of Amp Radio in Los Angeles, 92.3 Now will roll 10,000 songs commercial-free.

I hope this station plays more top 40 from the past like throwbacks from the 90's and early '00s, as part of regular rotation
This way it is like an older version of z100, rather than it being too new, too rhythmic and too lite or hot ac to compete with Fresh and Lite fm
I don't think there's any station in our area that plays the spice girls in regular rotation anymore? It would be nice to hear Say you'll be there or 2 Become 1 every now and then and not just on special occasions either
I think we need something with traditional 90's pop too. It's been 10 yrs.

Yeah why does CHR like shun all late 90s/early 00s pop? I never hear anything from that era on radio (except maybe on AC) and it'd be kind of cool to...

Ew. Looks rhythmic.
This station is so unnecessary....especially if it chooses to lean rhythmic like it looks like it it.

I don't understand why they feel the need to lean rhythmic. z100, Hot 97, Power 105, and KTU all play rhythmic-leaning songs...do we really need ANOTHER station to play them?

Well they def like Britney, all 3 of her singles (Womanizer, Circus, If U See Amy) were played in the same hour.

Well they def like Britney, all 3 of her singles (Womanizer, Circus, If U See Amy) were played in the same hour. In that case, I like them already!. lol. Seriously though, if it is going to lean rythmic, I think it is unnecessary. But if they continue to whore Britney like that, how rythmic could they be? We also got some AAR and Gaga in there. It shows some promise I think.

Rhythmic-leaning CHRs play GaGa and Britney a lot. And the All-American-Rejects are #1 on CHR right now so it would be pretty bad if they didn't spin it at all. So far, this is definitely your typical "rhythmic disguised as a CHR" station and if they stay that way (we're only 2 hours in) than I don't think this station will have a very long life. The rhythmic market in NYC is pretty much full.

I don't like that they speed up the music. It's weird being used to listening to Z100, and then hearing their sped up versions.

OMFG! They just dissed Z100! :o A war is on! :o LOL What did they say? There were a couple promos with the "Things that suck" theme. i.e. Things that suck: *blank*, *blank*, and Z100. Then there's a parody of the Mac/PC thing with Z100 being the PC.
