www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/2009/12/20/susan-boyle-tipped-to-sing-next-james-bond-theme-tune-115875-21912360/Susan Boyle tipped to sing next James Bond theme tune By Brian Roberts 21/12/2009 RAGS to riches singer Susan Boyle is being tipped to belt out the next James Bond theme tune. Down-to-earth Susans sweeping voice has been likened to legendary Goldfinger diva Dame Shirley Bassey who sang three 007 songs. The Britains Got Talent star is said to be thrilled at the prospect of being chosen for the Daniel Craig film, due out in 2011. Monty Norman, com-poser of the classic 007 theme music, said Susan was great, adding: Theyll think seriously because shes got the right kind of sweeping voice. Lee Pfeiffer, co-author of The Essential James Bond book, said Susan, 48, from Blackburn, West Lothian, was a throwback to those great days when the likes of Shirley Bassey would be asked to sing. The 23rd 007 movie is due out in 2011. Daniel Craig will star again.

Haha, the whole thing about her is a gimmick. Her voice is nothing special comparing to countless well-trained professional singers.

www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/2787252/Lady-GaGa-desperate-to-collaborate-with-SuBo.htmlI'm GaGa for SuBoPublished: 30 Dec 2009 ONE person I didn't expect to buy into the SUBO dream was eccentric pop star LADY GAGA. The hairy angel's rags to riches story has won her hordes of celebrity fans including DEMI MOORE, OPRAH WINFREY and even US president BARACK OBAMA. Now it turns out Lady G is a Susan Boyle supporter too. And as crackers as this sounds, she's not ruling out a GaGa/SuBo collaboration. The Poker Face singer said: "I love Susan Boyle. She is my woman of the year. She has achieved more in this year than most artists will in a lifetime. "This time last year nobody even knew who she was and now she is knocking the world's most established artists off the album and singles charts. "Our styles are different. I don't know if we could work together, but never say never. It would be great to work with somebody of that talent." That I would pay good money to see. The double act could be known as GaBo - or SuGa. The unusual pair would have one thing in common, both are absolutely bonkers. I just hope SuBo doesn't go on to adopt GaGa's unique dress sense. It's bad enough watching the American star prancing around in her PVC pants. But the thought of a pair on the Highland lassie with the big chassis is enough to put me off my dinner. GaGa reckons she has followed Susan's success since the beginning and loves to watch the video of her first Britain's Got Talent audition. She said: "I have watched the clip of her singing on BGT a thousand times and every time I see SIMON COWELL's face it makes me laugh out loud. He thinks he knows everything but even he wasn't expecting that." Both GaGa and SuBo have high-profile gigs to bring in the New Year tomorrow. Lady G is being paid £200,000 to perform at the swanky Fontainebleau hotel in Miami, while Susan will be singing on Japan's biggest TV music show, Kohaku Uta Gassen. Susan landed in Tokyo yesterday and was greeted by crowds of fans, top left. Go to my website to see footage of her arriving in the country. It looks like SuBo world domination is set to continue.

Ha ha ha. I love her continuing success. Is she a gimmick. Of course. But I maintain that she wouldn't be able to have sold like this if
1. She didn't have a decent voice.
2. There wasn't an underserved market for the style of the songs she's covering.
As I said in a previous post maybe this will give record execs a little more confidence in allowing their artists to take a few more risks in the types of songs they record.

Not only does she have a good voice, but she has a very endearing personality- I saw footage of her getting off the plane to meet the fans outside and she puts her hand up going "Yeah!!" or something like that- total opposite of the mental basketcase she was being portrayed as at the time- she seems very happy, genuine and loving it.

There's a call out to Susan Boyle fans on Oprah's site. If she's there in person and gets at least half a show devoted to her, how much will she sell the next week?

From HDD:
BOYLE-ING OVER: Susan Boyle’s runaway Syco/Columbia best seller, I Dreamed a Dream, has achieved R.I.A.A. certification for four times platinum shipments in 45 days, the fastest since the org instituted the multi-platinum category in 1984. The album has been #1 now six charts in a row, logging in another 131k this week, for a total of more than 3.1 million to date. And she's the only woman out there not sleeping with Tiger Woods. We think. (1/6p)

Yikes! That is alot- I wonder how the labels will respond to this- I mean, obviously there is a HUGE untapped market out there that is more than willing to buy an album.
