This is one artist I'm not worried about. He is crazy talented, can re-work just about anything and his arrangements are fantastic. I think he'll be fine. The question is more one of where besides HotAC will he be embraced? Contrary to your viewpoint, mine lands on the opposite side. I am still unsure about his star appeal and longetivity - to me he is just averagely talented in terms of music arrangement/re-working and all that. I really think he would have problems convincing non-believers.. For at the end of the day - he has such a 'background' vibe about him...

^ Yeah. He's much hotter than Jason and Jack. And he's really charming, and that helps a lot. And he was on idol, which means he has a built in fanbase. Either way, he's guaranteed to go at least gold. Are you kidding me??? How many American Idol alumni are "hotter" than comparatively similar artists who didn't originate in AI, and they still flopped or never managed to match those artists' success? And AI's supposed Built in fanbase means absolutely NOTHING. The careers and overall album sales of Fantasia, Taylor Hicks, David Cook, Kat MacPhee, Bo Bice, Blake Lewis and plenty others attest to that. The AI alumni that truly develop major sales afterwards are those who manage to reach an audience that goes beyond the couch-and-multiple-text fandom. Allen is cute. But cute isn't enough. (Not to mention that the whole "Kris is hotter than Jason and Jack" thing is very subjective)

Ugh can the Kris dislikers GTFO for a sec. They're ruining the thread. I like how when one jumps in, they all jump in.

this is pulse. When someone or a song are at the top... most people give love, when they're not people come and hate. It will always be like that. Now that this song is dead there isn't much to talk about Kris... Unfortunately he's not even one that is very popular or generates buzz.

I've been registered here since December 2005, I have an idea of how Pulse is. :) Of course he's not "very popular" or "generating buzz" right now. He's not a gay man using the fact that he hasn't confirmed it, but everyone knows it, to his advantage.

If a song is doing well, there's much love. If it's not, there's much hate and declarations that the artist's career is over. It's kind of ridiculous. I really like Kris, but I agree he's not generating much buzz right now. But whatever--he doesn't need it right now. He needs it when he releases a real single and his debut album. Immediate post-Idol buzz means nothing in terms of long-term success.

Sorry, I didn't meant to exactly explain... it's just one of those things that annoy me. I also think whatever this song does and whatever buzz he has now doesn't mean he can't have much success in the future.
Thanks for that video. That was fun.

He's not a gay man using the fact that he hasn't confirmed it, but everyone knows it, to his advantage. To be fair, Adam isn't popular either. Unless by "popular" you mean that he developed a big AI fanbase, which like I said before, will not do anything for him if nobody cares beyond its confines. AI is an interesting phenom. People will be passionate about it and text and vote and phone like crazy, but in the end, reality sets in and they mostly lose interest. It's the casual radio listener, the man on the street, who may or may not care about AI, that makes or breaks their careers. And as I see it, I can't imagine Adam or Kris having any substantial musical success on pop radio. In fact, I think this will be like the Taylor/Katherine season, in which neither the winner nor the runner up developed any sort of real career after AI, and they were both overshadowed by one of the lower-ranked top ten...

Like who? Other than Allison, I don't see any of the top 10 having a big career (outside of the top 2). I mean, Michael Sarver? Lil?

Yeah, I think Allison has the best chances. I think she's very commercial, and I think it's easier for women when it comes to pop. I think Matt could do well, not big star thing but find a space for him and sell a few albums and play small live shows.

Why must any Idol contestant's thread turn into American Idol Discussion Part 1020930840?
I'd hate to avoid reading information about people I like because I have to wade through this stuff but looks like it's inevitable.

Errr..why is putting himself in a hole. He should try to go the Mraz route. Too many "soul and R&B" singers out there..not alone idols (Ruben,Taylor,Elliott)
