completely unshocked by this and will not only do well on rock but will most likely crossover again to CHR. As much I loved Second Chance, I actually thought this had better crossover appeal when I first listened to the album. This album may be one of the very best commerical albums of the last 5-10 years with the accessibility to all music fans.

But this should do well.

This is really good. Not sure if this will get anywhere near the success "Second Chance" did but it has potential.

The whole album bleeds potential. I think any of the songs would be good singles at this point, especially since radio eats Shinedown up.

Predictable choice, but I love it anyway.

This album may be one of the very best commerical albums of the last 5-10 years with the accessibility to all music fans. ;) i must agree with that i'm very happy they decided to release this as their 4th single, i thought breaking inside or call me were the 2 songs to battle for the 4th single, but now this is the chosen one! probably is in the top 3 songs of the album, a full of great songs album

Finally! I actually prefer this over Second Chance. I'm actually beginning to as well. And I didn't even think this was that great up until the last few months. It's the same thing that happened with Sound of Madness for me, never liked it that much, then one day I just loved it.

It's your body going into self-defense mode. It knows when you're going to hear a song multiple times in the next few weeks.

Yes! I wanted this to be the next single. :) It's my 2nd favorite Shinedown song, just behind "Second Chance". Not sure about the rock formats but it should perform well on CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC. These are my peak predictions: #22 on Billboard Hot 100 #19 on CHR/Top 40 #5 on Hot AC #6 on Active Rock #10 on Alternative

#I Dont Care on Billboard Hot Rap 100 #16 on CHR #3 on Hot AC #4 on Active #8 on Alternative (That's where I Dare You peaked)

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! Shinedown will finally be a major band. Bigger than Second Chance... should go #1 on Pop, Hot AC, active and alternative.

^I don't think so. Bigger than "Second Chance?" Really? That's like the biggest rock song to come out in the last year. We'll see.

i will be happy if any other song from all their next singles will have the same success with "Second Chance" but saying that they can have even bigger success its very difficult, but not impossible

I expect If You Only Knew to reach top 5 in Active and Alternative. Maybe it'll top 15 in Pop and maybe top 5 in Hot AC

I'm pretty sure no Shinedown song will ever be bigger than "Second Chance" as good as this song will probably do. Some may come close, but come on. "Second Chance" was beyond massive on the charts and still is now.

Second Chance was amazing and this is as good if not better.....step away from the crack pipe Ninja. If by crack pipe, you mean a chess board, okay. This is probably the 8th time I've said it on this board, Second Chance just didn't do it for me. I just hear nothing original in it. It was an okay song, but not THAT great. Please explain to me what is so mindblowing about Second Chance.

Like any music, songs hit a chord with listeners. Some don't for sure. You didn't like it. That's cool, i was just messing with you. The song is "mindblowing" to me and many others because we "got it". The hook, the voice, the structure all worked for me.
I am going to say this though. The "originality" comment that people makes cracks me up. Nothing and I MEAN nothing is really original anymore. It all is bits and pieces crafted out of something that came before it. I do not care and never will care if a song or band is original. If they put out a song or album that I like, that catches my ear and that I can get into, I will like it. I will NEVER say I don't like a song because it sounds like "Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Pixies, Billy Joel, Elton John, The Beatles, The Stone, Elvis, or Robert Johnson at the Crossroads". I love music.....I don't critique it for its originality. At the same time, I don't begrudge anyone else to liking it for whatever reasons they want to. But it still makes me laugh because I'm sure that you and everyone else that says that has loved songs that were completely unoriginal. It comes down to the fact you just don't like it. That's cool. But millions of other people do as evidenced by its multiformat smash status

I understand your originality comment (See "It's All Been Done by Barenaked Ladies).
My main problem with it (and a lot of pop radio) is that it has a theme that has been rather overplayed on pop radio. It's My Life. No Doubt. It's My Life. Bon Jovi. It's My Life. Billy Joel. He could have found other more intelligent ways to express this concept, but that would alienate the vast majority of American listeners. There's a difference between reusing an idea and doing what everyone else is doing.
Something crossing formats does not really impress me at all. Pop just means the song has great timing in its release, or it is simple enough everyone can "get it." But if you don't internally critique music in some capacity, you might as well buy a dog and listen to it howl.
I don't mean to pick a fight with you, My Life Is A Stereo (although you did contradict yourself in that statement with the "originality"). Just chalk up my ignorance and let's call it a night :)

dude it's no fight, it's conversation. I don't get all upset, when its expressing opinions. Unless its one particular person, who doesn't need mentioning.
The problem with anyone critiquing music is that its subjective to every single listener. I love Second Chance....you don't. Does that mean its the most amazing song ever? No. Does that mean its not a great song? No. It just means that between you and I this song doesn't affect us the same way.
I dont understand what you are trying to say with the "It's my Life" references. I mean the newest of those (and it was a remake) was in what? '01. Just because another artist has used and idea or song title doesn't make it off limits to me.....really any artist writes what they feel at any particular time. It either clicks with an audience or doesn't. But I'm pretty sure artists don't sit down and say "hey I really liked their song, let's write a song that's about the same thing" unless of course it's something they actually feel in their hearts is something they want to articulate.
I'm not sure how I contradicted myself though. You might need to explain that to me.

Let him give his opinion about it not being very good and let it be I guess, the majority of us disagree with that and go along with what the facts say
