^Exactly, they are releasing the album now because they want the higher, holiday sales. A #1 does not actually give enough press and hype to compensate for that.

Here comes the wig-snatching legend again. Who wants to be first in line?

After finding out her audition was AutoTuned, I'm sure some of the magic will be gone. But, if it helps the industry, bring it on.

How come Amazon changes the price? At first her CD was 12 something, then 11 something, now it's 9.99.

Susan Boyle Cancels DWTS Performance Due to Sore Throat Susan Boyle, whose second album is due out later this fall, had hoped to showcase one of her new songs on Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday night. But the singer got sick during her trip from Scotland to Los Angeles and had to cancel her second major TV appearance.
"Her doctor advised her not to sing due to a severe throat infection," her rep says in a statement to PEOPLE. "Susan is very upset at letting her fans down. Their continued support means so much to her."She also had been set to sing Lou Reed's "Perfect Day" on America's Got Talent recently, but the spot was scotched because of an issue over the rights to the song. www.people.com/people/article/0,,20431775,00.html

How come Amazon changes the price? At first her CD was 12 something, then 11 something, now it's 9.99. so basically they are ripping off her most hardcore fans who pre-ordered immediately. Pretty shitty if you ask me.

Susan Boyle took to the stage and made her third appearance on The Oprah Show last Thursday in Chicago.
Performing ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ from her upcoming album The Gift with a 60 strong children’s choir, it was billed as the biggest performance in the 26 year Oprah show history.
Dubbed as the ‘record smasher’, Susan wore a beautiful bottle green couture dress from Suzanne Neville, made especially for this important performance. She also received a standing ovation from the audience as she sang the final notes.
After performing her breathtaking song, Susan then chatted with Oprah. Subjects that came up were bullying, her faith and the new album.
After the performance Susan was whisked away from the studio to visit one of Chicago’s most famous landmarks, Sears Tower. Speeding up in the lift to over 1300 feet and arriving at the famous Sky Deck in just under a minute to view the spectacular 360 degree views of Chicago.
She also proved she was braver than most stepping out into the glass box that hangs out over the building and affords you a sheer drop view of the streets below.
Then it was off to the airport for her return flight home to Heathrow, before her book signing on Saturday at Waterstone’s in Piccadilly, London.
Susan’s performance will be airing tomorrow, Tuesday 19th October 2010.www.susanboylemusic.com/gb/news/item/oprah/

THAT was the biggest performance in Oprah Show history?!
FOR REAL!?
Boyle didn't even get Oprah's audience to stand up for her at the end of it. Come on, Oprah.

I think this 2 million figure is bs. Otherwise, Sony wouldn't expect just 300k first week for The Gift (in Us). And pre-orders placing in Uk websites I checked haven't been that great.
Anyway, the album is already platinum since 1,2 million copies were shipped in the Us. I can see this selling really well after Thanksgiving.

I can't believe anybody sane would believe that 2 million pre-order rumor. That's just a PR stunt.

What kind of promo does SuBo have lined up for the USA? I read NBC's Rockefeller Center tree lighting and a special of some sort. Anything else?

They shipped 1.5 million of The Gift in the US.. they aren't just expecting 300k. They've shipped 1.2 million actually, and the initial projections for her first week are at 300k. Shipping 1.2 million seems like a safe bet to me, as it'll likely sell well over the next two months (though I doubt as well as her first). Source.
