The Gift's sales actually are at roughly 915,000- remember that SoundScan oddly does not count sales at Christian outlets as part of the to-date total. And, IDAD probably stands higher than 3.9m.

No more U.S. promo planned for The Gift, other than Larry King? Not that it needs it, mind you. A Billboard article stated that she was going to be on Ellen DeGeneres' show, and TNT's Christmas in Washington reports, but she's not listed as a performer for the latter.

How come ? The album barely has sold 1 million copies and it might even struggle to get to two miollion copies with the end of the Holidays in just two weeks - if that's true , it was certanly overshipped.

The album has not charted in Scotland? I read it's peaked at No. 5 on Billboard's Eurochart thus far, but not 100% sure on that one.

Sales of The Gift stand at 1.43 million in the USA- and, per HITS, is neck-and-neck with Taylor Swift's album for No. 1 next week (with sales in the same vicinity as they were this week).

Idk why people throw disdain her way for still owning the charts, she deserves it and unlike most people on the charts she actually has the talent to boot. I get a little giddy whenever I see her name above someone like Taylor Swift and she's so nice <3

Wonder if The Gift will increase sales this week. being aholiday title, it may not- but the Oprah rerun may help the cause. And we saw last year that SuBo's album sales may not follow the usual trend.

^For me, if a person rises to stardom via a talent competition series, then I don't see the harm of doing all cover songs- as that's what brought them to public consciousness, after all. For instance, look at all the junk that American Idol contestants have churned out with new material- why not have familiar material, if one has the goods to sell it? Is that enough to sustain a lengthy career? Probably not, but as of right now, SuBo's doing pretty well for only doing covers.

haha for me bring on the covers! cascada is my favorite music act and theyre first two albums were mostly covers. what id like to see happen more is big hits in one genre that dont cross over, have another artist do them somewhere else. Examples
What Hurts the Most smashed on country with Rascall Flatts and did minor Damage on Chr with Cascada
Because of You Smashed on country with Reba (and Kelly) and smashed on chr with Kelly.
I think most chart topping country songs should get a shot at pop (the ones that dont involve cowboys, tenesee, etc) and chart toppers for pop getting country re works (the ones that dont involve clubbing)
im WAY too off topic....whoops.

The Gift does another 240,000 in the USA this week, upping its cume to 1.924 million. Don't see why it should not cross 2m in the final week of the year.

Dropped 2-31, with 19,000 this week. Roughly 1.943 million scanned in its first eight weeks (through the last year in 2010)- No. 5 on the U.S. top-selling albums list for 2010.

Plus, it should sell quite strongly in the coming few years around xmas time. So I see it passing the 2m mark quite easily and possible the 3m mark in years to come :)
