^ well then that's good, I know I'll buy the album anyway his debut was the first album I've ever bought. Hopefully there'll be more tracks where he can show off his voice like there was with the Christmas album

I remember you said you hated it at first. Crush is probably my favorite from the last album (that actually made the album). There were some solid tracks on the rest of it (Barriers, ALTNOY) but Crush was the one that you can tell they put a lot of effort into. ^ well then that's good, I know I'll buy the album anyway his debut was the first album I've ever bought. Hopefully there'll be more tracks where he can shoe off his voice like there was with the Christmas album Yeah the Christmas album was fantastic. And his Christmas concert was even better. Possibly my favorite concert that I've been to thus far and definitely his best.

I remember you said you hated it at first. Oh, best believe I did, but it grew on me! And once a song grows on me it doesn't reverse. It's in my heart4lyfe.

That's generally how it is with me, too. I knew one day you would come to see the greatness that is Crush. :'(

I still love Crush the way I loved it when I first heard it. I remember the premiere on z100, it was such an awesome feeling.

Waiting for Yesterday is the true smash, such a shame it wasn't even on the regular album. :(

Waiting for Yesterday is the true smash, such a shame it wasn't even on the regular album. :( I don't know if I would say WFY was a "smash" but it was infinitely better than most of the songs on the first album. It was a huge mistake not to include it, not to mention that it's one of the strongest songs he sings live. Hopefully Jive won't make the same error of leaving some of the best songs off this next album like they did with ZG, WFY and WFM.

It was definitely a better song than a lot of the songs on the album, for sureeee. I love that song so much! Oh well. Hopefully they do a better job of picking this time around. :)

^Agree with WFY. One of the best songs from the previous era. In my opinion, they should've replaced DLG, Desperate, Angels, and/or You Can with WFY, WFM, ZG and Save The Day.

A good tracklist for the debut album would've been:
1. Crush 2. Touch My Hand 3. Barriers 4. My Hands 5. A Little Too Not Over You 6. You Can 7. Zero Gravity 8. Save the Day 9. To Be With You 10. Waiting for Yesterday 11. Your Eyes Don't Lie 12. Works for Me!
Wal-Mart Bonus Track: Angels Other bonus tracks: Desperate, Falling, Let Me Go, Don't Let Go, Running
That would've been a pretty great debut album, IMO, and more reflective of David as an artist. I like Don't Let Go but it was one of the weaker ones he had a hand in writing. He performs it incredibly live but the studio version is just OK. I love Angels and the way he performs it but it didn't need to be on the main album. Running is decent, but it could've been a bonus track and it seemed to me David didn't care for it. And Desperate sucks.

LOL. I like Running, a lot actually... but since David never performed it live and never seemed to care much for it I chose to switch it out.

Really looking forward to this. I hope he can be the first runner-up to achieve sophomore album success.

Rurry, I can't at your hate for "Desperate." Other than Barriers, Crush, and A Little Too Not Over You, that was my favorite.

I'm not much of a fan of Desperate either, although I like the live acoustic version he did on the piano once.
By the way, this thread was right above Hanson's Thinking 'Bout Somethin' thread and it's bringing me lulz.

Isn't Fenster in charge of Hanson's career too? Maybe that could have something to do with it.

Isn't Fenster in charge of Hanson's career too? Maybe that could have something to do with it. He was their A&R in early 2000s. Hanson is indie now so Fenster isn't involved.

You, Rurry, are the flop. Bolded Flop even.
I forget how solid Archie's debut is until I decide to play it. The only un-listenable song in my opinion was Your Eyes Don't Lie, and that was just for the obnoxious whistle intro. Waiting For Yesterday should've been on the album over that mess.

Your Eyes Don't Lie is not a mess. Sassy lyrics + barnyard whistling + explosions = WIN. Desperate and Don't Let Go should not have made the cd. I've only listened to DLG 2 times in two years.

Rince, sir, I've seen you around these parts lately and I wanted to say that I really like your posts and your music taste.
Now that the formalities are out of the way, I've never understood the hate for Desperate. What is it about it that no one likes it?

Your Eyes Don't Lie >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Despera-flop. Anyway the reason I dislike Desperate is a) It's a cover song b) It tries way to hard to be ~edgy and dark~ and falls flat and c) The production is weird - if it was a big ballad it might've been better but they tried to make it all euro-pop ish and it was just a mess. Save the Day is like the improved version of Desperate. Should've made the album.

I love it despite its issues. I kind of like emo David, lol. The weird production is part of what I like about it. I like Save the Day, but I wouldn't have taken Desperate off of the album for it. I'd put it on there instead of Don't Let Go. I don't know anyone that likes that one.
