it doesn't have a video yet... if the video's as good as what Brett Ratner has been hyping it to be, then I've no doubt it would boost the song further. I think everyone agrees with me that this is not Mariah's best attempt for a first single, but as a heater single it work. I mean, her first singles in the past few years have been announcing her return... this is like a breeze to remind what Mariah is like: her ultra-femme persona. I hope this will become her 18th #1. Tho I don't think it's her best, it certainly deserves to be #1 because it was created to be one: the hook, the minimal vocals, the lyrics, everything about it screams hit single. its all about timing actually... they should be very well verse with the game now ;) ;)

Meanwhile, continue to vote for the song on CKOI's Top 6@6 countdown in Montreal. Aw Montreal! Seriously it doesn't really fit in with what they play though. People should try voting on Mix 96 instead - biggest English pop station here (CKOI being French). FOUND THE LINK! www.themix.com/requests/createGuys pls help to request!

Singles are never profitable... they are actually used to promote the sales of albums...
i mean come on now the artiste only earn $0.08 cents per single... i don't think they really care that much for singles sales

i do think that after being in the business for so long, LA Reid is not that stupid to allow TMB to walk in the footsteps of these songs

and do you know how many people can only dream of breaking into the Japanese market? and i think you forgotten AIWFCIY... its huge in UK you cannot say that Mariah has no cultural impact in UK... without Mariah, there won't be Leona Lewis, the only decent female singer from UK and someone the UK people is worshippng like she's an angel sent from God Yes AIWFCIY is huge here, I think from now on with our new chart rules it will go Top 5 every Chrismas for years and years to come. Its definitely a modern classic. But what I mean is that shes only has maybe 3 or 4 songs that get played in the UK out of her huge catalogue, and only two #1s, which were both covers (Unfortunately even WBT never went number one, it missed out by less than 100 copies.) Her impact is very little here, honestly most people don't even know who she is, unlike a certain other huge selling singer (I won't mention her name, as it will just cause fights lol) who everyone knows who she is, with like 40 Top 10s, and many many songs still played on radio. But I do agree with the X Factor thing, I think here she has the same significance as Whitney Houston overall. But we do not treat Leona like a god, in fact I have found that its you Americans who are fawning over her, not us. But she is definitely liked over here, because she won a huge TV Talent contest (Similar to Kelly and Carrie for you) and also she is the best female vocal talent we've had come out of the UK in years. We're very proud of her. :) Mariah must likely won't receive high airplay in UK because of the genre she is into right now plus the UK deejays simpy hate her for some reason >:(... just like how the other selling superstar you are referring will never get to played on radio in US now except for her old catalog ... but its still too early whether she will stay with only 2 #1 in UK..we hope she can do something with this new album

^ do you even know how small UK is compared to the world? Unlike Elvis or The Beatles, Mariah actually owns 3 of the top 5 best-selling albums in Japan, and owns the biggest-selling single of that country. So what? R&B never bode well in pop-oriented communities, but she has a strong performance overseas nevertheless. That doesn't stop her performances abroad being generally poor. R&B artists like Beyonce have crossed over and become huge internationally, while Mariah has only really broken the Japanese Market. I live in the UK, and here only two songs are actually played on the radio here by her - Hero and Without You; she culturally has no impact here, and will be incredibly lucky to go Top 20 here with Touch My Body - I've only heard it on the radio once and its got very mixed reviews on the UK's biggest station - Radio 1, which very much like z100 makes or breaks a song here. And Mariah at the end of the day is a pop artist. From 1990-1997 she was pure pop, and from then on its been R&B pop, but definitely not straight up R&B - All the singles with the exception of Say Something from TEOM were pop; yet she still performs very poorly in Europe. I don't know why people have a problem with that - shes huge in America but thats it, theres not much wrong for that, I mean shes still the second-best female artist of all time in the US. and do you know how many people can only dream of breaking into the Japanese market? and i think you forgotten AIWFCIY... its huge in UK you cannot say that Mariah has no cultural impact in UK... without Mariah, there won't be Leona Lewis, the only decent female singer from UK and someone the UK people is worshippng like she's an angel sent from God

Interesting the comment about American Idol/Idol like shows worldwide. I could name loads of Whitney/Celine/Xtina etc songs being sung on these shows. I am struggling to recall any performances of Mariah numbers except for "Without you", which, as already pointed out, is not a Mariah song. they better don't... they will end up embarassing themselves anyway i do think Mariah's achievement is very underated here i mean you see Mariah in Leona Lewis...Beyonce... Christina Aguilera... I don't think anyone sings like how Mariah did back in the 90s... the vocal acrobatics she displayed in her live singing just blew everyone away... shes still relatively young in the business as compare to her peers... and i disagree that she doesn't have a signature song... Hero...WBT and particularly ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU... you will always hear this song in NOV/DEC every year without fail

R&B never bode well in pop-oriented communities, but she has a strong performance overseas nevertheless. And as a fan, I take comfort in the fact that Mariah has produced an amazing catalog... which is slowly inching its way to music history books. I'm a guy, but aren't you at least happy that a solo female artist is actually challenging the record books dominated by men? Honestly, I don't remember The Beatles' or Elvis' 17-20 #1's, but I hear their songs a lot. In the same manner that I hear Mariah's Hero at a national event, or AIWFCIY every effin christmas, and the rest of her catalog at random moments. #1's don't really matter much to me, but since music chroniclers do put heavy weight on it, well I;m just enjoying the fact that I'm here for the ride to campaign an artist who'll likely break records. ANd about TMB getting to #1... why not? This song was made to ride the airwaves. It's as infectious as any #1 should be. Uk is the 3rd biggest market ww i thinkso i don't think you can say its small and i do think its tough for an R&B artiste to get #1 in UK just like how UK people find it hard to break into the US market... Mariah has done well...

slow and steady i guess perhaps we have been "spoilt" by WBT's success we feel uneasy that the song is only increasing 2-3 million everyday instead of 6 million haha

maybe TMB may even last till after album drops!

I was hoping for a bigger increase. :\ And I'm confused by this: Isn't 1624 the bullet? And how did she only gain 0.197 in audience? *edited* yeah the audience increase is abit too low..no new stations adding it? ???

Today the Mediabase cut shows THE RESULT OF THE WEEK,not the daily jump...as you can notice,THE WEEK'S CHANGED AND THE WEEK TOTAL IS 47.231 million! And NOTICE the TO DATE IMPRESSION...is 69.846 million,so the MATH shows that:Day X - impressions for the day, spins for the day (TOTAL SO FAR) (What Mediabase shows - 7 DAYS TOTAL) Day 1 - 7million, 500 spins (Total: 7m) (Mb: 02/12 = 7m) Day 2 - 6million, 574 spins (Total: 13m) (Mb: 02/13 = 13m) Day 3 - 6million, 583 spins (Total: 19m) (Mb: 02/14 = 19m) Day 4 - 6million, 648 spins (Total: 25m) (Mb: 02/15 = 25m) Day 5 - 8million, 868 spins (Total: 33m) (Mb: 02/16 = 33m) Day 6 - 7million, 801 spins (Total: 40m) (Mb: 02/17 = 40m) Day 7 - 7million, 824 spins (Total: 47m) (Mb: 02/17 = 47m) Day 8 - 7million, 904 spins (Total: 54m) (Mb: 02/18 = 47m) Tomorrow it will show on the Mediabase cut! :) Thanks Lyron on FOMM for this kind explanation... made for everybody clear that the song actually gained 7 million TODAY! MediaBase is a rolling chart, so not sure why you are analyzing summed totals in this manner. We all know this is due to the weekly rollover, but the point being made is that this should be gaining versus last week. It did not GAIN 7 million impressions yesterday, it RECEIVED 7 million impressions yesterday, with basically no net gain versus last week, when TMB also received about 7 million impressions. thanks i think i get what you mean but isn't this senario very strange? it was supposed to go for adds yesterday and its bullet in the 3 main format is still very strong why would the audience dropped? ??? ???

And who cares if the first single isn't absolutely amazing - we're getting *SIX* - yeah, count em haters - *SIX* singles! No need to put out the best song on the CD first :) Mariah is getting treated like the superstar that she is. And until she puts a poll on her website asking fans what the single should be, this project is going to do very well! ;) exactly! surely one of those will be able to break into Europe market.. i mean come on now.. time to give Mimi a chance Europeans
