Didn't one of Adam Lambert's songs top the Billboard dance/club charts? Or at least get really high on that chart? Maybe FYE?

He has a different A&R team than he did for his first album. Not to rehash things, but I think if AWM had been the 2nd single off the 1st album, he might have sold better. But we'll never know.
Anyway, VOL seems to be getting a generally positive reaction, even from people who aren't necessarily fans of his, so that seems like a good sign. We'll see if there is any sort of official announcement this week on when the single will be released

So happy I went to that gig on Thursday. Absolutely loved the new music and Kris and the guys were in fine form :)
I can't decide which one was my favorite -- Better with You and VOL are so catchy, Out Alive is absolutely gorgeous and Monster is a very cool departure from the type of lyric Kris usually writes. But My Weakness is just addictive -- I'm hoping we get to hear that one live soon.
I'm hoping that RCA goes with VOL, Better with You and My Weakness as the first 3 singles (hopefully we get that many). Out Alive would also make a great single, but because it's probably more Hot AC ballad than something Pop would pick up on right away, I'd hold that one back until the 3rd (or 4th - lol) single.

Kris debuted Vision of Love at his gig at The Mint in L.A. last night. It was an acoustic gig (him and bandmates Cale Mills & Chris Torres). Here's video of VOL. This person has videos of the whole set on his YT channel -- Kris debuted 5 new songs last night, plus did a fun mashup of Rihanna/Katy Perry/Lady gaga tunes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3Y-47llg1c&feature=player_embedded

Kris has a show at The Mint tomorrow night and is promising to play some of his new music. Wonder if he will officially announce this as the single at this gig?

Technically, this still hasn't been confirm as the single, since neither RCA, his management or Kris himself have announced it. Hopefully that will change in the next week or so.
Love the dance remix and I'm hoping the original is as good

I don't get him at all. I don't think he can sing and he's a mediocre rapper. But he has a lot of support and his fanbase is pretty fanatical. So he could do quite well. Epic seems to be ready to push this hard to radio, that's for sure.

I saw a tweet tonight that said the remixed version of VOL got played by JOY, which I'm told is a LGBT station in Melbourne, Australia.
I'm guessing it spun this leaked version of the song

I really like the "Parachute" demo. A bit of "K-Sizzle" in that one :)
I hope we find out if these are demos from album #2 or album #1 era

If the cover of "Respect" really is her first official single -- and not just being used for the Pepsi commercial -- her label and management are DUMB. You do not give someone a cover song as their 1st single -- especially not an artist coming off a show where all she sang was covers. How is that supposed to establish her as ORIGINAL artist?

Other song titles that we know about (again, unknown which if any will be on album)
Fighters For Better or Worse Best Intentions Headed Towards the Sunrise We Are Keep the Light On Unique Better with You Beautiful Breakdown Breaking in a Broken Heart 100 Reasons I Just Want You Somewhere I've Never Been Record High Love Rooftops
Kris' guitarist Cale Mills reportedly said that Kris had written or co-written more than 80 songs since KATA was released... and he said that months ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if that number was actually over 100

So excited -- seems like we are finally getting really close to getting new music released by Kris!
I really like the dance remix of Vision of Love and am interested in hearing the original. I want to hear all his new stuff, of course, but one song he mentioned (before they edited the interview) really intrigued me -- it's called "Monster".
Got my ticket for his show at The Mint on 2/9. Can't wait!

The last couple of days a dance remix of an unreleased song (possible next single) by Kris Allen has been floating around the internet after the link was tweeted by someone connected to the remixers. This song was written by Kris Allen , Nasri Atweh and Adam Messinger RCA knows about the leak and reportedly said: "Kris’ new album is almost done & this is one of the songs that we’re super psyched about... and is in the running to be the first single. Because the original version of “The Vision Of Love” is uptempo Kris thought it would be cool to... on the down-low... experiment with some fresh, unexpected remixes... the producers we’ve approached have all been really into the song... and it seems like this trance remix team from Finland called Maison & Dragen just got a little over-excited with their version." (http://www.hot995.com/pages/toby.html?article=9666304) Anyway, the reaction from music bloggers, etc. seems to be very positive (mixed in with a lot of surprise that Kris would even think about doing a dance remix of one of his songs) EDITED: The remix producers tweeted about this leak, and included a link: maisondragen Wow! What a buzz around our leaked @krisallen 'Vision Of Love' remix. The final version will blow your mind! www.whompingstereo.com/2012/01/leak-kris-allen-vision-of-love-maison-dragen-dmac-remix/I really like it -- hope RCA actually does something with it.

Kris has been back in the recording studio the last couple days and he has tweeted what appear to be partial lyrics for new songs
He tweeted this one overnight on Monday:
"I don't wanna believe that love is just a dream and now we're wakin up."
And then today he tweeted this:
"This city's gonna break your heart. It's gonna leave you colder."
On Wednesday, he tweeted this lyric:
"I could build a dream that we won't ever wanna wake up from."
On Thursday he tweeted this:
"maybe I should wear a warning that says there is danger if you ever get to close to me."
It's not clear whether these are from 1,2, 3 or even 4 songs. But since he's always been very closemouthed about his songs, fans are hoping that the fact he's tweeting lyrics means that we are getting very close to hearing a release date or at least the name of his next single

would be nice if RCA would tell the fans something about a single or album release already.

Counterfeit is the song that was originally rumored to be her first single, before they decided to go with This Time, instead. I still don't get why they didn't go with Counterfeit to begin with.

Who Kris has his publishing deal with (in this case UMG) has nothing to do with who he can license or give his music to .Anyone can record his stuff, as long as they have the rights to it -- they don't have to be signed to a Universal label. Same thing with licensing it.
As for the demos, I love Love Too Much. I hope that that song gets licensed or recorded by someone in some way -- it's too good to just be tossed aside. I like the other 2 songs as well.

Shouldn't the title of this thread be changed since the album isn't coming out in the fall now?
Hope that Adam is right about the single being released next month!

Kris will be on The Today Show on Thursday, 9/15, in the 10 a.m. hour. He's going to promote the KidzBop contest he's involved with, but supposedly he's also going to talk about his upcoming album.

KidzBop tweeted that Kris will be doing a bunch of press in conjunction with his judge/mentor stint. It looks like he will be on The Today Show on September 15 to talk about this contest. Hopefully he can also talk a bit about his new music. Also, hopefully while he's in NYC maybe he'll meet with his label and finalize a producer/studio time?

I think he will have a single out before the year ends. There's still time to get the album out in November or December but he really needs to get in the studio full-time NOW if he wants to do that
