Wow, Demi is really creating a sustainable little career for herself. Many other teen stars fade due to public interest waning, or they focus into movies and other projects, or they get tired of being famous. If she keeps the focus on the music she could really have a lasting career. its already been more than six years since her first album and she is just as successful now if not more.

If she creates enough momentum/does the right promo/releases the right song, and hits all the marks I could see this era tying the MJ/Katy record.

NOT OC Girl hate. That song pops up a lot on my phone and I always bop. Also, The Sweet Escape >>>> LAMB. I actually bought that special box version of LAMB. I took the CD out to make a copy of it and then put it back in its box never to look at it again. I don't even remember what is inside the box. I think the case was made of fabric? Anyway, LOVE her on The Voice. Her personality is so fun and she works well with her lover friend Pharrell. I am definitely excited for new Gwen AND No Doubt. I feel like I am one of the few that loved Push & Shove. Undercover is classic No Doubt. One of my favorite songs on that album. Of course, that title song is ace, as is Settle Down. I enjoyed the Stand and Deliver cover as well as mainly tracks 1 - 7. I think Rocksteady is by far their best album though. Really excited too for new music from both.

I'm admittedly nervous. She's been gone for so long that coming back with the sound of her heyday wouldn't really be viable, but I don't want her to conform to the current state of pop either. She's always been ahead of the curve, but the other greats from her era ( Justin, Nelly, and even Fergie based on the clip of her latest) haven't been able to adapt in their absence. At least to my standard anyway. So, yeah. I'm not really sure what to expect. Justin did really well in his most recent releases, both commercially and critically.

Benny & Gwen sounds exactly what I need from pop right now. What's interesting is No Doubt worked with a list of writers/producers (Ryan Tedder included) back in 2013 when their follow up to Push and Shove was supposed to be released. Then things were put on hold randomly and there was radio silence from the band for the remainder of the year. I was surprised to hear that Gwen has enough solo material recorded to release a full length album but now I'm starting to think they took a lot of those 2013 recordings and simply re-tweaked the material to be more pop Gwen friendly. I hope more background on the creation of this album becomes public soon. In regards to solo Gwen being a "2006 artist" along with Fergie, let's not forget Gwen was also a "2004-2005" artist with the monster hit that was Love.Angel.Music.Baby ;) Lastly, Gwen is performing "Hella Good" on the season premiere of The Voice Monday night with the rest of the judges...will be interesting to see her perform a No Doubt song without the band! You can already see that performance here: music.yahoo.com/blogs/reality-rocks/exclusive--watch-the--voice--coaches--hella-good-group-performance-213852751.html

Why is the title still ''Blurred Lines''? shouldn't it be Paula?
Stans probably trying to sweep the whole flop under the rug and pretend it never happened lol.

Ariana Grande couldn't even pull 200k and she had songs released all through out her huge album campaign that hit #1 on iTunes. The industry is in the shitter. The revenue in 2013 was actually an increase on 2012 by a very very small margin, but at least it didn't go down, like it has every year since 2004, although album sales fell in 2013 as did digital downloads, the 40%+ increase in streaming revenue actually stopped the revenue from decreasing. hopefully that trend will continue for 2014.

With the single releases, it should be doing 300K to 400K, but I know the economy. I'm more curious about the longevity and if he will top Fortunate's total sales (it does seen likely). In what world? hardly any albums open with that anymore.

21 in Australia, which I find strange since im sure it was top ten on itunes there for a week. Anyway that makes it her highest charter since Beat of My Heart got to 13 in 2005.

Has TMZ actually revealed who it was yet? I know they claimed they were going to but I hadn't seen any story about it yet on TMZ's site. Anyways, Britney changed up the pre-Freakshow dialogue again. She doesn't even mention him, she just says she wants a one night stand lol: http://instagram.com/p/sopiHaFgn5 Did you even read the post above your own?

If this manages a top 10 BB200 peak and 100,000 in US sales i'll consider this a runaway smash. I think more likely it'll pull a Nelly Furtado.

Spotify pay out more than Youtube though, on Youtube 100m streams pays out avg of $500,000 whereas Spotify pays out $700,000 for 100m streams.

You can blame her pregnancy, but the album was going nowhere fast since march. 3 flop singles in 6 months doesn't lend itself to longevity for a project. She was still making plenty of money off her sponsors and off her huge streaming numbers. Shakira is on track to get 2B VEVO views in 2014, that's a lot of income from VEVO streaming. No one cares about the money that comes in from album sales nowadays. The era made money, that's what matters most to Live Nation. These big divas care more about exposure than anything else, because the ultimate prize is touring. All of her singles had strong streaming numbers, even Dare. Dare became the most shared commercial of all time. The world cup hype helped her become the most followed person on Facebook. The album had decent sales for an older diva. If you want to mention big diva flops, that would be JLo, Mariah, Celine, etc. Shakira did find some success this era. Shakira is a Latin legend. Even if her singles flop & under-perform, they can still use her name to sell just about anything to her audience and her name will generate strong streaming numbers. So, even in an under-performing era, she'll still have that, which is enough to bring in plenty of money. The album didn't sell well, but she sold her music to Activia, Tmobile, Crest, ABC and Starbucks. What we all want though is a big era for Shakira where she gets solid English hits, hopefully that will happen in the future. The pregnancy did put the era on hold. If you look at Shakira's history, typically after her English album comes her Spanish album then a huge tour. That was the plan. But, it all ended because of the pregnancy. After SW the album under-performed, she went on to find success with "Sale El Sol." Also, it seems that some people are pushing for her to release CMD. Magic recently tweeted: MAGIC! @ournameismagic .@gma @vicikvicikm Sadly no, but maybe if you ask the lovely @shakira nicely... #MagicOnGMA Lastly, I hope she enjoys her time with her family. This entire era her body was present, but her heart was back in Spain with her family. I hope in a couple years she comes back with a strong desire to release new music. Right now all she cares about is her family. Its understandable, she's in her mid 30's. If not now, when? Right now is the time for her to have kids. No one is going to pick fame over family. 1B streams on Youtube pays $5m so 2B will pay out 10m, thats probably more than they put into the era, so im sure they are considering this a big success, and thats just Vevo numbers, not including Spotify or even record sales. I don't consider this era a flop at all, this is how the music business is going, making money from streaming and even with songs that didn't light up the charts she still pulled in the big numbers for streaming which does bode well for her future.
