Surprised to see she renewed her record contract, not just because RCA did a s**tty job, and have a history of being very hit or miss (mostly miss). But because I thought she was going to use this vegas thing as kind of like a farewell or take at least a long hiatus after it. Is she confirmed to be back on the RCA roster? According to this: ''Earlier this year she re-upped with RCA Records, which had inherited her contract from former affiliate Jive years ago. And even touring was scrapped, as Spears established her two-year residency in the Nevada desert.'' variety.com/2014/music/news/britney-spears-interview-las-vegas-residency-1201293159/

Then what was this? Anyway, sick of the same discussion just drop it now. Look, this is embarrassing. I already conceded those numbers were wrong on the previous page. We were told to drop the Ariana discussion last page yet it was somehow misinterpreted to be about Hilary (in her own thread??? Lol) and after you posted your own numbers, I added my own two cents based in THAT information. As I said, I thought we'd moved on from the previous discussion. I certainly let it go, at least. I would suggest that if you harbor any ill will regarding that incident that you let it go as well, because this thread is getting derailed-- flattered as I am that it's about me. The topic if discussion is Hilary Duff. Let's keep it on Hilary, positive, negative, and everything in between. If you want to discuss my posting habits, I tagged you in RT. No, I will not continue any discussion with you further on some sort of councilor thread. Ive been trying to drop the discussion for ages but you keep quoting me, so lets just end it with this. ------------------------------------------------------------ Anyway I hope they don't make a mess of this era, they've pushed the album back a few months after its supposed October release as Hilary mentioned on twitter - So its not looking good, releasing singles in summer, then putting out the album the following year, hopefully this will pick up slowly on radio or something until then, as for the adds, tbh it was more than I expected so it could be worse will just have to hope for the best. This time around she doesn't really have her celebrity brand and huge fanbase so whatever success she sees will rely on singles, which need radio play.

Nope. He made a load up out of nowhere check a few posts ago. I cited your own numbers? Then what was this? Santa Clause Lane: 500k Metamorphosis: 2.7 (2.6 mil last recorded) Hilary Duff: 2 million (1.8 million last recorded) Dignity: 411k Anyway, sick of the same discussion just drop it now.

Oh you're still on that? Because I was past that and thought staff said to drop it. I tried to end it ages ago, but you kept dragging it along.

You didn't give facts lmao, you tried to completely make up numbers because you got butthurt because someone said Hilary is more successful than Ariana. Are you seriously saying that we were the people trolling in the situation? funniest thing I've heard all damn day! HAHA! But seriously, please stop trying to bring this back up. Kunt wasn't trolling, he is discussing Hilary's success with the numbers shown clearly in the Hilary Duff thread! That is not trolling in any way, shape, or form. Nope. He made a load up out of nowhere check a few posts ago.

Reported for constantly trolling this thread and antagonizing other members, find something else to do with your time please rather than just using it to discredit Hilary Duff's successful music career. I'm not trolling or attempting to discredit her. All I'm attempting to provide is perspective. Did I not concede that her album sales were substantial or no? Again: I like Hilary, but this is a Hilary Duff thread and nowhere does it state that I can't state what I perceive to be the reality of the situation. If you find hard facts to be antagonistic then that isn't my problem. You didn't give facts lmao, you tried to completely make up numbers because you got butthurt because someone said Hilary is more successful than Ariana.

Let's not forget album sales were at their highest point/just starting to decline at the start of her career. Comparing her to anyone from today in that field is pointless for that fact. You can still compare Year-end charts though with other artists from today's field.

Although it was planned to release in October, as per Hilary's tweet, album has been pushed back, probably til 2015 as she says it will be a few months after October.

Not sure if you were born when Hilary was releasing music (and it does make me feel old to know people born after 2007 can use computers and interact with the world) but back then single sales were very low digitally whereas album sales were higher and it was hard to get a platinum single. at this reach. Compared to a lot of her peers those sales aren't very high, nor did they have the radio success to support them. Incidentally, I was part of her core demographic around the time she was releasing music. That doesn't mean I'm obligated to stan. But yes her singles did not fare well due to teen stars not being able to be taken seriously at radio at that time - which is kinda different now. No, she's not a special snowflake I'm afraid. Demi, Selena, Miley, etc. have all struggled to overcome the radio stigma. The difference between those ladies and Hilary is that they actually did, and had the talent to do it. As for the downwards sales trajectory, alas this happens to lots of artists. Including Britney Christina Lady gaga Ashlee Simpson Avril Lavigne Selena Gomez Demi lovatoNone of them went from almost four million to 400k in a span of 4 years and 3 studio albums. That's just embarrassing. Reported for constantly trolling this thread and antagonizing other members, find something else to do with your time please rather than just using it to discredit Hilary Duff's successful music career.

Lets drop the discussion now I agree, and leave it with her US stats from her wildly successful 5 years of making music. Her updated sales are on Billboard. Albums: 3,961,000, Metamorphosis (2003; No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for one week) 1,799,000, Hilary Duff (2004; No. 2) 1,489,000, Most Wanted (2005; No. 1, two weeks) 477,000, Santa Claus Lane (2002; No. 154) 411,000, Dignity (2007; No. 3) Songs: 655,000, "Come Clean" 550,000, "With Love" 437,000, "Wake Up" 284,000, "Fly" 253,000, "Stranger" 252,000, "So Yesterday" 238,000, "Someone's Watching Over Me" 161,000, "Our Lips Are Sealed" (with Haylie Duff) 124,000, "Why Not" 112,000, "Play With Fire" www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6189519/ask-billboard-how-has-enrique-iglesias-bailando-become-such-a?page=0%2C2Not a Platinum selling single to be found and the album sales still don't total out to be 10 million as originally claimed. Not that 8 million is anything to scoff at, but her sales trajectory as it applies to her time as Lizzie McGuire is certainly interesting. Not sure if you were born when Hilary was releasing music (and it does make me feel old to know people born after 2007 can use computers and interact with the world) but back then single sales were very low digitally whereas album sales were higher and it was hard to get a platinum single. But yes her singles did not fare well due to teen stars not being able to be taken seriously at radio at that time - which is kinda different now. And yet with only a couple of moderately successful singles just look at those album sales - we are not worthy. As for the downwards sales trajectory, alas this happens to lots of artists. Including Britney Christina Lady gaga Ashlee Simpson Avril Lavigne Selena Gomez Demi lovato

Just to prove the point that Hilary has had more success than Ariana which you tried to say she didn't. Would you mind quoting me where I said that? That long post where u made up figures to make Hilary seem less successful. Anyway some people on here should really lighten up, someone made a snide comment on the internet big whoop it happens all the time. I wouldn't have even carried this on if nobody got all bent out of shape over it.

You completely missed off Most Wanted which pulled in 1.5m and as of a few months ago metamorphosis was at 3.9m only 40k short of 4m and also besides it being at the peak of album sales, it was 8th best selling of 2003, where did Arianas debut come in the year end charts? Again: what does Ariana have to do with anything? Just to prove the point that Hilary has had more success than Ariana which you tried to say she didn't.

The prehistoric album sales being used for Metamorphosis in this thread, I am LAUGHING. I wasn't aware anyone gave a s**t. It's Hilary f**king Duff. You completely missed off Most Wanted which pulled in 1.5m and as of a few months ago metamorphosis was at 3.9m only 40k short of 4m and also besides it being at the peak of album sales, it was 8th best selling of 2003, where did Arianas debut come in the year end charts? No. 106.

There was nothing wrong with what that person wrote to you, it was all true That doesn't matter. Ariana had NOTHING to do with this discussion, and this was during the CD age, when albums were at their peak. So... I do consider it trolling, as I would with any other artist so don't you DARE say it's because Ariana is involved, I don't play that way. Try again please. Its just because Ariana's involved.

"Musically" she's been a decent success. She's sold nearly 10 million albums in the USA. Something the girl in your avatar will probably never achieve. Radio-wise, though, she hasn't been successful. You know exactly what I meant and my icon has nothing to do with it. Reported-- not because you're blatantly trolling, but because it's such a piss poor attempt. There was nothing wrong with what that person wrote to you, it was all true, ''Musically'' She has seen great success, 15m albums sold WW, 2 US number 1 albums, sold out arena tours etc.

Does she announce the singles or just release them - and then that is the announcement? Russian Roulette didn't come out til late October so it might be late this year too.

This is probably my favorite from the album, but might have gone with Laura Palmer or Things We Lost, or Overjoyed. Not sure why everyone is saying Bad Blood, this is way more catchy than that, no?

I think it'd be tacky now anyway if someone does try to pull a beyonce, its been done, thats it - it worked coz it was a bit of a shock as it hadnt been done before, but if others do it now its obvious to get poeple talking.

Do we honestly think Hollywood Records has enough money to payola all of these songs? Lmao HWR is part of the Disney Music Group, which has seen huge success this year with the Frozen soundtrack and Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack. So yeah they probably have quite a bit of money.

It's basically about d*cks and asses lol. And what is exactly wrong with that? Everybody has an ass and all guys have a d*ck and most men and women like d*ck so it's super relatable. It's not the first time a song about either one or both of those subjects has gotten a lot of attention and been successful. Sex is a part of life. We all came into this world as a result of sex. Sex is fundamental to our survival. Nicki is saving the world one booty shake and trick at a time. The fuck??

pre-show? she deserves a spot during the regular show tbh, this song is HUGE for God's sake I agree based on Boom Clap and based on the fact that she's now involved with two of the year's biggest pop songs. But there is SOME reason to question whether her brand warrants this kind of high-profile gig at this point. "Break the Rules" didn't make any real noise at iTunes, and it was hyped everywhere. I think people are beginning to identify her voice, but I'm still not sure that everyone knows "Charli XCX." That said, it would be nice if MTV spotlighted some up-and-comers on this show as well. They are, thats why she is on the pre-show. She isn't nearly big enough to be on the main show.

The highest entries on Mainstream Top 40 since the chart's beginning (fall 1992) apparently are: No. 12: Mariah Carey, "Dreamlover" No. 14: Lady Gaga,"Born This Way"; Justin Timberlake featuring Jay-Z - "Suit & Tie" No. 16: Madonna, "Frozen"; Britney Spears, "Hold It Against Me" No. 18: Taylor Swift, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together"; Maroon 5, "Maps" No. 19: Lady Gaga, "Applause"; Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj, "Bang Bang" No. 20: Katy Perry, "Unconditionally" Applause did better than Roar on radio on their debut weeks?

wait until its just about peaked in airplay and discount it I say, get it a top 10 peak, and set up the era for WOA to smash during the 4th Q.
