I've been hearing "Lake of Fire" on an AC radio station a lot lately. It's growing on me.
Was there a third single from this album?

So this is their second single from the new album? I still haven't heard "Lake of Fire". Canadian radio is so frustrating.

Well, even if the CD isn't great, there's bound to be at least 3-4 songs I really like... there always is (at least so far).

I like David Usher's solo stuff more too. I didn't like "If God Had Curves" too much either... not really that it was slower, but the songs felt rather tired and uninspired. How many singles were released from that CD and what were they?

I've heard it on my AC station... it's alright. A bit generic, but maybe it'll grow on me.

I make it very specific that a song had to be added after a certain date to make this chart, so all the crap from last year doesn't clog up the countdown. That's a good rule... getting rid of previous years' songs allows more minor hits from the current year to make the chart, which makes for a more interesting countdown. "Bad Day" was a hit in Canada before the U.S., so it was more a 2005 song.

Great list. :) I wish there was such great variety on the Vancouver radio stations. I think The Beat 94.3 is only having a Top 49 of 2006. For shame! And it's supposed to be a "hit" music station. Any near misses for the chart? ;)

I guess this song helps to fill the Cancon quota, though I'm surprised they're not adding Finger Eleven, since that's also a Canadian act.
I hope this song is better than "A Night Like This".

06 11 Beyoncé - Irreplaceable #6 already... the song is at #37 on the Hot AC chart in the US. Yay for "Wonderful" and "Say It Right". I'm surprised "Say It Right" wasn't on the chart yet.

LOL, the message in the song title is quite clear.
Her voice is so distinctive... it would be interesting to hear her version of some classic songs. A bit of a change from her usual. I bought her latest album, but didn't like it as much as some of her older work.

I've liked some of her songs in the past, but not "Been Gone". She has been overplayed, and I don't think I've gotten over that yet.

I normally listen to a lot more Canadian music, but I've been listening to the radio a lot less lately... there are many current Canadian songs I know the title of, but I've never actually heard, LOL.
It's also hard for me to remember whether a song came out this year or last.
Some songs by Canadian artists that I did like at some point this year, and I nominated in various categories:
Stabilo - Flawed Design Chantal Kreviazuk - All I Can Do Stabilo - Kidding Ourselves Jann Arden - Where No One Knows Me Jann Arden - Willing to Fall Down Hedley - Trip Mobile - Out of My Head Daniel Powter - Free Loop Daniel Powter - Jimmy Get High Nelly Furtado - Say It Right Philosopher Kings - Castles in the Sand Philosopher Kings - Give Back The Love Michael Buble - Save The Last Dance Kayle - Don't Hold Me Down Sarah McLachlan - Push Feist - Inside and Out Bryan Adams - Why Do You Have To Be So Hard To Love

All three singles released so far did reasonably well on Canadian country radio. What a difference.

I hope at least Canadian country stations will start playing it now that "Everybody Knows" has lost its bullet and will fall out of the top 20.

I've been hearing it on the country station in Vancouver for quite a while now. It must have gotten more airplay lately since it jumped from #31 to #19 on the R&R Canadian Country chart. It says the song only hit the top 50 four weeks ago.

That's an all-format chart that includes airplay from stations that play top 40 pop, Hot AC, AC, rock, alternative, country, etc.

We're a pretty carefree country! Why chop down a tree when you can just post things online. Plus if they printed it, the readership would probably be less than 100 people.

There is no Canadian Billboard. BDS, which provides airplay data for Billboard charts, also monitors Canadian stations, but the individual format charts are no longer published (the Canadian Music Network magazine used to print them but I don't think they are still operating). Jam online prints an All-Format radio airplay chart from BDS, plus SoundScan charts, though. jam.canoe.ca/Music/Charts/BDS_1.html

I've been hearing his song a lot more lately. It's on the CHR/Pop chart and the Hot AC chart, and I'm guessing it will eventually make the AC chart as well.
I don't like it too much; it sounds too much like "Shady Day" and the other songs on his last album. I actually preferred his singing on his debut album.

I'm thinking they're going to run out of Dare You To Play It songs. Didn't they already play Jordy? Yeah, I wouldn't mind if they get rid of that feature. I'd rather hear another up-and-coming song.

I'm hearing this one quite a bit on my Hot AC station. One of the lines seem a bit inappropriate, though, but maybe I'm misinterpreting what they mean.

I think this is the follow-up single to "Don't Hold Me Down".

I'm still really liking it as well. I only hear it when it's on the radio, so I haven't heard it too many times, so it still sounds fresh.
