That's great for Alanis Morissette! Did she write the song? Will "Wunderkind" or any of the songs from the Narnia soundtrack be released to radio? More of the songs on the nomination lists used to be heard on the radio... Annie Lennox's "Into the West" last year should have been played on AC radio.

I'm glad her acoustic album is doing well. It's too bad her new material hasn't been getting the response that the older material seems to be getting.

I heard there was a "clean" version of the album with no swearing, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Is it available in Canada or the U.S.?
On a related note, how can you tell the versions apart? The only ones I've found in stores have a little box on the back saying the lyrics are of an adult nature (which I presume means it's the swearing version?).
I was looking everywhere for this CD today since I'm buying it for my cousin. She's only 12 years old, and my aunt will kill me if I get her the one with him singing that he's effin' high.

I liked the LFO solo version and the LFO f/ Kelis version.

Yeah, better than "Stars", which was disappointing.

I thought this topic was in the AC forum... was this never officially released? The first post said it was on 59 stations.
That "Beautiful Boy" was a horrible lead single for the "Miracle" album. I thought this was the follow-up single. Or was it "In Some Small Way".

It is too bad he hasn't experienced much success in the US with his solo efforts. I have enjoyed the albums he has put out on his own.

It's a good song. I hope Mraz will release a couple more singles after "Wordplay".

OLP became a core Hot AC artist in Canada, so I hope this song will be played there.

but still plays the "new music" jingle before I hate those new music jingles. Half the time, the song is already six months old.

Not that surprised since Canadian Hot AC stations tend to play a few hip-hop songs.

Thanks for posting this... it's always interesting to read, especially the Canadian songs, because most of them, I never get to hear on the radio. It's kinda interesting how your station defines "Power Rotation" as 30-35 spins, while in the states its like 100+......big difference, eh? It's a Hot AC station, though. I think in the US, power rotation on a Hot AC station are often 40-50 spins per week?

I just saw the music video for "Papercut", and I thought the song was catchy.

Yep, I've heard this song a lot... I do like it, though. www.myspace.com/faberdriveI don't think I've ever heard the artists' name before, though. That's what you get with Cancon... you hear it on the radio lots but have no idea who it is.

I don't recognize 'Second Chance' but I think they play it. I've probably heard it on the radio before too, but didn't know it was this song.

Is there a third single from this album? I just got the CD and I really like it.
I'm not a big fan of this particular song, though.

I just bought the CD this afternoon... it was $12.99, so I thought it was decent pricing.
I don't like this song that much...

I don't really have time to watch it tonight, but that's a lot of awards Nelly Furtado won... it would be nice to spread it around a bit so lesser known artists could get their names out there.
I was hoping Stabilo would win Best New Group, but I guess I do like Mobile too. Good for Gordie Sampson. I'm not a huge fan of Tomi Swick, but I'm not a fan of anything in that category anyway.

I've been hearing "Good Morning Sunshine" a lot lately... I didn't realize it was a remake. I don't know if I just don't like the song or this version of it, probably both.
I want to hear her new song, though. Another song might feature her voice better.

Now that I've listened to the song more, I really like it. I can't even imagine Gwen Stefani singing something this emotional.

Yay, I finally got the CD. Any word of a fourth single? I never heard this song at radio... I just checked and it falls from #38 to #48 on the Canadian Hot AC chart... where did it peak? AC is still on "Wonderful", which is at #6 (pretty good, I still find it pretty fresh since I didn't have the CD until now)... I suppose they could push a new song to AC after this and skip "Ghosts of You", but I don't think AC usually takes more than two songs from one album, even from core artists.

I still haven't heard "Wonderful" enough yet. I'm glad she will have a third single... hope to hear this on the radio soon.

Yeah, I was surprised it was being released when I first heard because of how soft it was. Then it got me thinking, would any of the other tracks do well if released? A lot of them are fairly well known covers but of older songs and radio doesn't play a lot of old music. 'You're So Vain' or 'Love Is A Battlefield' probably has the best chance. The sticker on the album cover did mention 'Downtown' though. In some ways, I am glad they released it since I really like hearing it on AC... Hot AC played Feist's "Inside and Out" but then again it might have been because she was up and coming. I really liked that remake as well.

Darn, this song might be too soft for Hot AC... it's only at #78 and it doesn't look good. Not surprisingly, it's nowhere on CHR/Pop.
Even on AC, it's stalling at #10.

I've heard this quite a bit on the AC station. It's a remake of the song "At Seventeen", one of the songs that's on her "Uncover Me" album. I'm not sure if "Bring the Boys Home" was the first single from that album, or if this one is the official first single. You can hear the song on her Myspace... www.myspace.com/jannarden

Good question, I'm curious as well. How do radio stations know which songs are being released by Canadian artists? Before, there was The Record and Canadian Music Network, which provided listed Canadian songs going for adds, but what is used now?

Ugh, at least that partially explains why it was at the top of the charts forever. Thank goodness it dropped below #15 and hopefully will be out by next week. It's still #6 on the Hot AC chart in the U.S.

I think it was recorded in Vancouver or something, so some of the production/writing credits must have been Canadian?
