Bruno is selling at about the same pace as a lot of new artists with big hits. B.o.B - 84,000 Jason DeRulo - 40,000 Jay Sean - 32,000 Taio Cruz - 24,000 Bruno is completely in line with that. Where do people get these unrealistic expectations from??? Just pulling numbers from the sky? And let's see where the above mentioned are today: B.o.B - 403,914 and selling around 10K a week. Jason DeRulo - 228,096 and selling 3K a week Jay Sean - 172,908 Taio Cruz - 113,656 and selling 4K a week. I think Bruno Mars is more like B.o.B so I can see him reaching Gold.

I expected this. It is a weak release week.
#1 in Octobber with only 65k? Ouch.

Billboard.biz:
Kenny Chesney Could Hold Top Spot On Next Week's Billboard 200 October 06, 2010 - Retail
By Keith Caulfield
Kenny Chesney's "Hemingway's Whiskey" may retain the top slot on the Billboard 200 albums chart next week, but there's an outside chance Toby Keith's new "Bullets in the Gun" could fire up at No. 1, depending on how the rest of the week shakes out.
If, as industry sources suggest, Chesney's "Whiskey" will take another swig atop the list, it will mark the singer's first multiple-week run at the top of the chart. His previous five leaders all spent one week each at No. 1.
As for Keith, if "Bullets" bows in the top 10 (which is all but a certainty), it will be his 11th top 10 set. If it reaches No. 1, it will be his fourth.
Neither "Whiskey" nor "Bullets" are expected to sell more than 100,000 in the week ending Sunday, Oct. 10.
Other albums aiming for a top 10 entry next week include Bruno Mars' debut full-length "Doo Wops and Hooligans," Waka Flocka Flame's "Flocaveli" and perhaps David Archuleta's "The Other Side of Down."

Zach Brown, Kenny Chesney and perhaps Toby Keith debuting #1. Darius Rucker has to be the favorite next week to go #1 as well. It's another weak release week.

Bruno will most likely go Gold in the long run. I think he will pull out at least 2 more big hits from the album, which should keep him selling 10 to even 50K a week closer to Christmas. He has a much larger appeal than the other guys, who are only getting radio spins on certain formats.

Cooler Than Me was up a ways on the chart and did in the 40K range as well. i expected bruno and bob to tell more than derulo, travie, mike, jay sean, and taio from the start. bruno had 3 big hits before his album. b.o.b. while only having one big hit before his album dropped was a rapper, unlike the others so i expected flo rida sales from him.

Yay at Katy keeping steady as well. :) It would be bad if she wasn't. She's had 2 #1 airplay hits.

Oh YEAH! May get back in the Top 3. I hope he keeps pushing 50k+ for at leas another month.... Just in time for the holidays . His sales are fantastic, if he actually sells 55k+ this week, that'll be an amazing hold. I'm becoming more and more convinced he'll end the year on top. I think Taylor is his biggest competition, I don't see Boyle recreating those numbers from last year. Looking strong for Bruno. I think he'll be fine w/ Nov/Dec coming up. Also good hold for LP, no?

Katy selling steadily. Not surprising. The album is going platinum easily. Just a matter of time. She has at least two more smashes to keep it selling (Firework and TGIF)

I was fine when I asked, Any Other, just wanted to make sure it indeed was an exaggeration. For as you know, there actually are some out there who place THAT much importance on charts/sales- fans and acts, alike. :)
I imagine Taylor Swift will be the next act to top 100K in her debut week (unless something from 10/19 does- HITS hasn't updated its "Upcoming Releases" section). She should hold on top for a second week, too, and well exceed 100K- and then SuBo arrives.

Don't know how accurate it is though. features.metacritic.com/features/upcoming-album-release-calendar/I'll list the ones i think could maybe do 100K or more. 12 October Darius Rucker - Charleston, SC 1966 19 October Sugarland - The Incredible Machine 26 October Taylor Swift - Speak Now 2 November Nothing will imo. 9 November Susan Boyle - The Gift 16 November Rihanna - Loud (Just barley. Maybe 105K) Kid Rock Born Free and Pink Greatest Hits i don't think will. 22 November Kanye West - TBD 23 November None will imo.

slicknickshady why are you predicting Rihanna to do just 105k? She did 180k with Rated R and Russian Roulette, and now she has a bigger hit, plus LTWYL is still pretty big. I think it can top Rated R's first week sales, but even if it doesn't 105k seems way too low.

Yeah, I'd hope that Sugarland's album opens pretty decently.
Pink's GH probably will see a lot better in territories like the UK and Australia, rather than the USA (where the iTunes age has impacted new compilations more than other territories).

I like Rihanna. I hope it does really well. But i guess i'm expecting a decline from her last sales. so i'm low balling her.
Nikki Minaj is an interesting test case imo. She has hype but not to the extent Drake had. I could see her doing up to 150K but right now i have it between 75K - 150K for Minaj. I think the safer bet is her not doing 100K but it's close.

I wouldn't be so sure of high sales for Rihanna. Her first week sales are always underwhelming. I think she'll do about what she did with Rated R.
Nicki is hard to predict - I mean I thought Bruno would've cleared 100k easy but obviously not. I'm thinking she will do just under or just over 100k.

No mention on David Archuleta. I wonder how he'd do.
