But it's looking more and more likely that Parking Lot will be released in the US instead of Spirit Indestructible, SI still has no adds date for US radio even though the video has been released. Plus all the album leaflets say "featuring Big Hoops (Bigger The Better), Spirit Indestructible and Parking Lot" so that should mean it'll get released before the album drops.

That A-E-I-O-U bit of the song is so genius and catchy. Darkchild..... didn't know he had this in him. The build ups in the song are so surprising, unexpected and strong. It's a conscious club banger. The remixes of this are going to be EPIC from dance producers.

Like the video, love the song, but in both cases, they aren't the image/sound that I think will make her successful this time around.
That being said, I've accepted that there doesn't seem to be much commercial viability in this release, so I'm just going to enjoy the music. They better not end up shelving it though.

"PL" is great, it's quite catchy. It has some country twang to it. It sounds awesome. It takes from a few different genres.

Ok so finally got to watching the AOL sessions thanks to Legenderry. She is really amazing live, the new version off Turn Off The Lights = amazing, even liked sokrates rap  , shame her live vocals weren't translated into the studio versions on Big Hoops and SI. That's something you rarely hear anyone say about singers these days lol, usually the opposite. |

"Parking Lot" is a major leap in the right direction, but she's still got quite an uphill battle on her hand if she expects to penetrate (lol did I just say that?) radio with this. It should have been the first single though imo.

But I could care less if she gets a hit or not, I just want something good to add to my playlist, "Parking Lot" doesn't fit the bill.  I do think "Spirit Indestructible" is hook-y enough for radio to lap it up, though. Nelly is in a tight spot this time around, will be interesting to see how this era unfolds and if radio is willing to give her the time of day. |
