I always thought Check On It reached at least 180 million impressions? As far as I know 4 songs reached 200m on mediabase: WBT, SIO, Irreplaceable and COI. SIO reached at least 160+m on BDS, of that i remember.

I think that Holy My Hand is officially dead..... which honestly surprises me very much. I think HMH would have done much better had it came out in place of "This Is It". The fact that it's been out for 2 years probably doesn't help either.

Rihanna has never been a huge album seller in the US. And there I rest my case.. now go tell your friends not to call the Queen of Xmas dead again ;) Damn...you are right. LOL at the other poster focusing on Riri's WW sales as if she has record breaking ww sales...her sales are stronger overseas but still

"Hold My Hand" has been out for two years? Yep, albeit a different mix. I remember lots of posters on her saying this should have been his first posthumous release instead of TII.

Being at home for the weekend and having limited computer access I heard a lot of current hit songs that I'd listened to only like once before, over and over again. Today's hits are terrible. After a day and a half I had to keep switching between my hometown's 3 hit music stations and then turning off the radio because they were all playing suckiness at the same time, sometimes 2 stations playing the same suckiness at the same time.
If it wasn't for the reigning #1, my choices for year's worst #1 & most overrated artist would be split between a song that rhymes "don't get fancy/just get dance-y" before kesha-ing "my glass is empty; that sucks" and the one whose albums have never gone #1 for a reason yet have yielded 7 #1's.
However, if it wasn't for my being personally offended by her saying that a song about being forever young, going hard, tearing it apart, and being numb/dumb/delirious is supposed to inspire suicidal gay teens, I would probably like We R Who We R quite a bit. It is, as Tik Tok is, infectiously catchy and fun, and just as empty of meaning. But I simply can't stomach her claims.

Her #1 singles...ok. Sales...eh even WW. Mind you, I have 4/5 albums. But some of those local pop stars that are not selling as much as they were in their prime sold more records WW off of one album than she has with five and those that are up and coming are selling similar to her first couple of records so...

Since late 2005/2006, Rihanna has sold..16 million albums prior to Loud? That's an average of 4 million per album, per year. That puts her in the very top tier of worldwide album sellers in the moment. There's only a handful of acts pulling that type of volume and consistency.

Mariah emancipation sold 10 million. Usher confession sold 20 million.

not that good? today it sure is... It's good, considering this is 2010, album sales is declining It's not good, considering how big she is in US radio and the number of #1s/top 10s she has produced. Same problem just like Katy Perry. But Rihanna is definitely not true definition of a single artist, she's no Flo Rida, Jason DeRulo, Jay Sean, & Taio Cruz. She stills sells albums.

Glad this is doing well...I think this is my favorite single from her from this era. yep, it's in a tie with teenage dream as my favorite single and song on TD. i never expected it to be this huge though, i thought it would have just performed moderately good (like waking up in vegas) but glad i was wrong

Mariah emancipation sold 10 million. Usher confession sold 20 million. and Good Girl Gone Bad sold 8 million ??? a huge chunk of her total comes from that one era alone and that was when she got majority of her hits which made that era successful so i dont see where any of you are going with this ??? her albums before that only had one or two hits just like Rated R...its not like she had all multiple huge singles in every era and struggled with all of them

Holy f**k Rihanna :o Radio's Queen ect Please don't post this every day. I don't think it's news to anyone at this point that Rihanna is currently doing well at radio. I've never been strict about what kind of discussion people can have, but you do have to at least pretend to be making some sort of attempt at analysis or adding a new insight or something...

It's is kind of embarrassing that she has 9#1's such a radio support and has sold around 5.5 mil copies of albums in USA.
But I don't want to discuss that anymore, this is BH100 thread after all.
