Take A Bow, Disturbia, and Live Your Life were all #1 singles "in a row". Love The Way You Lie, Only Girl, What's My Name, and S&M were #1 singles in a row. After TAB went #1, If I Never See Your Face Again charted and only peaked at #51. Also, after LTWYL, Rockstar 101 charted which peaked at #64. And after OG, WTC charted and peaked at #51. That mean Rihanna has had 2 consecutive #1 singles, and she's done that twice. I see, however Rockstar 101 entered the charts before LTWYL though, so therefore it was a "single" prior to LTWYL and the LTWYL, WMN, & OG combination applies. |

rihanna is litteraly free falling on itunes. the remix is down to #10!! she better promote the song if she ever want to reach 3 M for the first time this era...I mean come on katy has already three song above 3M and rihanna can't score one????? Also , i dont see the intrest in having #1s that stay on top barely for one week. It's like TGIFY it just doesnt feel real and deserved . i think OG and WMN will both be over 3 million by the holiday season if not sooner. Ive seen a couple people a little hopeful CKB will go number one... i have no hope for it there. I always thought her first 3 singles had a chance, but i dont get that from CKB |

I have to wonder though, does it even really matter?
Because I'm not seeing the vital importance of whether this was consecutive or not. It's a #1, hooray! That's really all that matters (and, ironically, it doesn't even matter that much.)

I'm really happy for Rihanna on her 10 #1s and for Britney with her 5th. I'm so happy they gave Britney credit for the song. EDIT: Can we please change the title of this thread to Rihanna ft Britney Spears - S&M - #1 on HOT 100? YYAASSS!!! |

The dates that I have say LTWYL debuted on Billboard's hot 100 on July 10th and hit number one on July 31st while Rockstar debuted on August 14th at #99. I believe people are going by the dates that the songs were officially released, not the dates when they first charted. Rockstar 101 was released on May 25 and LTWYL was released June 8, which would make Rockstar the earlier single. That it took so long to chart only speaks to its inability to catch on with the public, but is no reason to then declare that it came after LTWYL when clearly it was put out to the public first. |

Dang, its almost like they got their #1 (which don't get me wrong, I really like the song), and now they're done with it. It's freefalling FAST on Itunes. Now the real question is how many more weeks will E.T. spend on top! Congrats on the #1 too!
