She looks great and I'm actually loving these interviews. I've always liked her music but haven't got very invested in her...and she's totally capturing my interest right now. This, exactly.

I think what concerns me most about this whole thing is that Madonna might purposely use GaGa for her own success this time around. And I know people will say that GaGa "used" Madonna for her success but GaGa has never said a bad thing about Madonna ever. If Madonna uses every opportunity she can get to underhandedly trash or subtly badmouth GaGa then, well, I would think her to be above that because as far as I know, she's never used someone's name in a negative fashion to further herself (well, except for religious references ). It just feels cheap to me. I'm still interested in seeing how this plays out but as an obvious fan of GaGa, I can't help but feel that this might be a bit souring in the weeks and months to come. Though I will say that I think it's inevitable that the current GaGa backlash will help Madonna regardless but I don't think Madonna needs to fuel it any further. I highly doubt that she will be talking and or using Gaga's name in the months to come. Will everyone that interviews her ask, I'm sure they will, but she is going to get tired of the question, quickly, just as she got tired of being asked about Material Girl.

GaGa's name is giving Madonna the press she needed to help promote her movie, she hasn't had this much press since her kiss with Britney.

There have been many instances since then that got her more press than this. The first adoption, the divorce, the last tour, etc.

There is no "purposely using" argument either, the Gaga talk is making headlines because the interviewers are the ones asking her the question. It's not about being a smart business move or making controversy or anything like that, especially when you watch the entire interview that's very miniscule.

I'm pressed they previewed 'Birthday Song' on 20/20 instead of GMAYL. :(

People are asking her about GaGa so in that sense, I don't blame Madonna but we all know she anticipated the questions and had every answer prepared for every question and obviously even just one question and one answer is going to overshadow everything else that she'll say in the interviews. But maybe it's coming full circle? GaGa has Madonna to thank for much her fame and now Madonna has GaGa to thank for the attention. And no, it's not just because it's Madonna because she certainly didn't get this much attention during the release of her last album.

And Madonna had none of this buzz when she dropped her Confessions album here in the USA as well.

^I get what you're saying but truth be told, Madonna got a ton of press/attention during the start of the "Hard Candy" era as well I believe. When "4 Minutes" dropped, everyone was talking about her. Granted the JT factor could be argued there but still. And she had already been getting a lot of attention all over the media for being announced as the Superbowl headliner...it's not as salacious or as juicy/gossipy as the LG talk but it's still been a lot of news coverage this year.

What do you expect she has a strong (but limited) fanbase in the USA too. After the first week or two she faded away quick. Look what happened to her 2nd single, she didn't even have a 3rd single here or did she? Either way they went no where.....

The hype was there when she was about to release new material. The issue with the last few albums was that she promoted during release week and then didn't do anything else to promote in the US until she went on tour.

COADF sold 1.7 million on the back of one moderate hit, she had plenty of buzz and press.

With Hard Candy she literally only did like 3-4 interviews, and a few club promo shows that only fans knew about.

I wouldn't quite say that is faded away quickly...it has sold over 1.7 million in the U.S.A. I heard Carrie Underwood has a new album coming out soon. Carrie's first album was released the same week as COADF. Any chance she'll be releasing the same week as M, or is Carrie's album still further out?

Madonna Presenting at the Golden Globe Awards!January 13, 2012 by Brett Malecand Marc MalkinMadonna is getting her Golden Globes on! We just got word that... The Material Girl will be among the night's presenters. Producers exclusively reveal that she will be handing out the award for Best Foreign Language Film at this Sunday's Awards Ceremony at the Beverly Hilton hotel in L.A. She will be presenting solo. Madge's movie W.E. is up for Best Original Score as well as Best Original Song for her tune "Masterpiece." If the song wins, Madonna will be taking home her second Golden Globe award. The 53-year-old was honored as Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for her role in Evita back in 1997. It was announced earlier today that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will also be presenting. I'm told they will not be presenting together. Just yesterday, we revealed that Kate Beckinsale, Emily Blunt and Elle McPherson will also be joining previously announced presenters Jessica Biel, Reese Witherspoon, Melissa McCarthy, Mila Kunis, Mark Wahlberg, Ashton Kutcher, Nicole Kidman, Salma Hayek and Jake Gyllenhaal, among others. The Globes air live Sunday on NBC (E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family). Read more: www.eonline.com/redcarpet/2012/golden_globes/news/madonna-presenting-at-the-golden-globe-awards/286307#ixzz1jOJMLzn7 Extra mentioned that she might be taken the stage.

Bitchy tea drinking Madge is awesome. I'm actually excited to hear the new album. Madonna's very hit or miss for me, but I always end up liking at least a few songs from each album.
Kinda off topic, but I was reading about the so called GaGa diss...and is it true that GaGa supposedly lied when she said she got an email from Madonna? I read on ABC news that Madonna's rep said no such emailed occurred?
THings gonna get heated. Mother Monster vs. Grandma Madge?

Madonna has been in the news for months now. She's been promoting W.E....going to all the movie festivals, The Smirnoff Night Life Project....news of the new album, single, Masterpiece getting a GG Nod, The Graham Morton Show.....the album name and of course, The Superbowl. Let's get real here, you're giving LG way too much credit for Madonna's press!

But as far as madonna's hype for this album and stuff, the best kind of press and hype is the kind that people love to retweet and link on Facebook. Can't really compare this era (so far) to the last few in that aspect but you can totally tell there's much more talk about Madonna this time around.

I'm saying it seems so intense to us because we are online and following it. I'm in an office building now and I bet if i asked 100 people, they wouldnt even know what I was talking about.
