Great mix, feels like it's missing a little something though. Either way, it's VERY infectious and I'm loving what you did with it.

There's an extra piano element you might hear later in the club/dub mixes, and it's possible there will be some further mastering, but I'm very happy you're enjoying it so far!

Finally got ahold of the Alias mixes. They're really, really good, really turns the song into an anthem and there's so much energy. Not quite my taste in mixes, but still a very solid one. Definitely worth checking out.

I quite like the Alias remix. Is it a bad thing though, if my favourite part is the intro? With the tribal drum sounds, and the way the vocals are sampled. For some reason the energy quota goes down a tiny bit once it gets to the actual song, and then it comes back around 4:10-4:12 only to drop that little extra energy once the bridge is over. Strange, but that's just how I feel about the mix.

Listen to The Alias mix here:
I am not liking the Alias remix. The parts with the synths feel way too metallic and are almost painful to my ears. The one in the video above with the compression somehow lessens that feeling and it's a little better. Just not my cup of tea.

From DJ Rico:
sounds like a very dated Deadmau5 style to me until their typical attempt at dirty-dutch after the first chorus that completely ruins it. The mix sounds like they had no solid direction and its just very random.

The Alias mix has a lot of energy. I agree it does have a "metallic" sound to it, but it's still working for me. Also enjoying the Guto Rodrigues Remix, Paris FZ & Simo T & King Richard Club Mix and Trypsin's Heartbeat Club Mix. So far the mixes have been very solid.

Eddie Baez has posted his mix on his personal page (NOT his fan page, just so you know). Its his typical sound, nothing revolutionary and I'm assuming it wasn't accepted by the label, but the mix has a lot of energy, but still feels like its missing something. Not quite as good as his 'Womanizer' mix. What he did with the breakdown is awesome though.

Here is my first remix. It follows the original, but is a bit larger sounding. Working on an extended version, an acoustic, and another mix or two. Listen here. The player loads automatically and will not work in IE.

Tracy Young has confirmed her Official remix of HIAM via Facebook! EW!!!!!! Is that chick still "remixing"??? (notice the subtle use of quotation marks) LOL Her remixes suck, plain and simple. I agree with El Chiko, the Paris FZ & Simo T & King Richard remix is the best I've heard so far. Sad to hear it was not approved.

EW!!!!!! Is that chick still "remixing"??? (notice the subtle use of quotation marks) LOL I must begin with this disclaimer: I am not referring to any one person in particular with what I am about to say. If someone doesn't actually do the work on remixes with their name on it/attached to it, why would they go through all the trouble of hiring someone to do the work and then have to share whatever money they are paid for it with them? That just doesn't makes sense. Sure, someone else can help them get money, but they have to share some of that money (hopefully).

And I will name names! *lol* It seems like so many of the big remixers in the industry have been either accused of this or come right out and admit to not doing their own mixes. Junior Vasquez, Tony Moran, Tracy Young, Wayne G, Eddie Arroyo, Hex Hector, maybe even Thunderpuss? Some are more open about it than others. Then there's guys who are so talented that they can do it all, produce an entire remix from start to finish without any help from ANYONE!! no engineers, no programmers, no co-remixers, no anonymous people who do the entire remix then give it to the celebrity-remixer to pass off as his own. Those are my heros, the do-it-all guys with REAL talent that encompass everything from beats to music theory. People like Josh Harris, Lenny B, Jason Nevins, Love To Infinity, Warren Rigg, Dave Aude (I think? someone correct me if I'm wrong) and so on. I've always thought that if someone does at least 50% of the work on a remix, they deserve to get credited in the remix title. For example Hex Hector & Mac Quayle remix, or Tracy Young & Joe Carrno remix, etc.

Dave Aude does his own stuff, he has a guy do mastering/mixdown sometimes but that's it

I've always thought that if someone does at least 50% of the work on a remix, they deserve to get credited in the remix title. For example Hex Hector & Mac Quayle remix, or Tracy Young & Joe Carrno remix, etc. Agreed!! I found it really disturbing over the years when I would learn of the big names not doing their own work. Apparently you can add David Guetta to that list (or so i've read online, according to an interview here bit.ly/cNuwP0 with Joachim Garraud). He has input for sure, but the actual work is not all done 100% by him. I get it that these people have to travel and do their thing on the road, and finding time to work on music must be hard, but I still believe that if you are going to put YOUR name on something, make it 100% YOURS! If you are going to have someone else do the majority of the work, make sure they are credited BESIDE your name in the song, because the days of CD singles with credits listed inside are long gone. I too much prefer supporting the artist/producers who do all their own work and make it something that's theirs 100%. My fav's I've kept track of so far are: Dave Aude, Jason Nevins, Lenny B, Austin Leeds, Diplo, Cajjmere Wray (aka: CCW), Starkillers, Laidback Luke, Afrojack, Sweedish House Mafia (aka: Axwell, Angello & Ingrosso)...I could keep going listing some REAL talent. THOSE are the kinda producers that deserve a massive fanfare!

Tony Moran does credit his remix partners so I don't know why he is being dragged into this. His team(Warren Rigg, Guiseppe D, Mike Lorello and Dave Saronson) have been with him for a long time.

And Tony has been writing and co-writing as well as producing for singers in addition to the remixing. He has done a lot of that, even though many may not know that he has. He wrote a lot with Albert as Latin Rascals on Freestyle era stuff by artists TKA, The Cover Girls. Tina B, and Safire. And then he wrote a bunch for Gloria Estefan, Kristine W, Becky Baeling, and so many others during recent years.
