And here's DJ Kue's mix, who's been doing some great Top 40 ones lately. He actually fits in his own version of the dirty dubstep breakdown from the original, and its hot.

Not as good as his take it off remix, the vocal effects are kind of awkward too. You can tell dubstep isn't his forte either from the breakdown. It's kind of a mess.

....plus one more: Abe Clements Club Mix (7:18) totally different style than his Paradise Mix (and better in my opinion!)

Two new mixes for UK Hold It Against Me (Linus Loves Remix) 5:08 Hold It Against Me (Jacob Plant Remix) 4:25
Not really fan of Linus mixes, but this one is kinda cool, housey, smooth, it works well with the song!
Jacob Plant Mix is dubstep all the way, something Skrillex would have done, its ok.
About the US mixes, I am totally dissapointed. NONE of them mixes can't top the original, and I can't even picture myself dancing to any of them at club, this was a total waste of money IMO.
The Alias Mix is the best out there.

this was a total waste of money IMO. :kii: I agree to an extent. Several of the mixes sounds just like noise with some beats thrown in. It's a shame that half of the package is like that. I do sort of like the Abe Clements, Mike Rizzo and Tracy Young's mixes, however, none are totally amazing. Just bring on an original extended, dub based on the original and call it a day.

Tracy Young is the standout for me. I didn't love it when I first started listening to it, but once the chorus kicks in it's pretty epic. The Adrian Lux & Nause mixes are kind of interesting too. Abe Clements, Rizzo, and Smoke 'N Mirrors are all pretty blah in my opinion, and the Ocelot mixes are just a mess.
The Alias mixes aren't bad either, minus the 'metallic-y' sound others have already mentioned. They at least keep the energy up in the chorus, which is by far the best part of the song.

Abe Clements: Pretty boring. I like his buildup but the mix is just nothing special. Where the dubstep was in the original is particularly disappointing in this mix. Adrian: Interesting mix, but still boring. The approach isn't bad, but those. It's a tamer, more planned out JumpSmokers mix, in my opinion. That said, the synths are very eh. Funk Generation: Solid mix, doesn't do anything revolutionary, but definitely makes this very club accessible in a good way. Jumpsmokers: A mess. They're style has gotten very stale lately. Ocelot um... lmao. Horrible. Smoke N' Mirrors: really different vibe from this one.. until the drop that again sounds like a strange take on Dirty Dutch that isn't even long enough to keep energy going. Odd. Tracy Young: eh, if tribal-house is your thing then this is a decent mix. Honestly doesn't fit well with the song at all for me though. The chorus really picks up though.
Jacob Plant: (can't find) Linus Loves: Like jnxLovermaker said, very chill and housey. Pretty decent mix actually, second only to Disco Fries right now.

After hearing all of the official mixes, I have to say that many of the unofficial ones did the job better. Smoke N Mirrors brought something to the table that was different, the stuttering effects and such are very trippy and I enjoyed it. Tracy Young's are fine and all and I do really like the synth work, but I am glad that we have many other choices (like 70+ mixes) to play with...

I still want to hear the jacob plant. Like... seriously wth?
Disco Fries is the best so far. Nothing touches it for me yet.
djacob, your mix has a really chill vibe, but I wish it came harder in places. Like, I don't think the song caters well to exclusively chill mixes, but I really like your direction. Solid production, if not a bit odd in places (I feel like some of your synth choices clash if you catch my drift). Keep in mind I'm HIGHLY opinionated and picky when it comes to music though so idk if you should take that to heart LOL.

Hi Kpasa, I don't take it personally at all! I'm glad to have some sort of feedback. I post it on youtube but I think there are so many remixes that nobody can find mine. What do you mean by the synths clashing? Do you think I should add more percussion to make it "harder"? I think my strength is finding the right chords and music but my weakness is the production. What do you think? ???

I definitely agree that your chords work well in the pads you used, but yeah, its just really smooth and it glazes over more than anything. Percussion wouldn't help imo (the chorus is a great example). Using fewer pad synths/less reverb on them would help. Having the synths compliment the beat would help (that's the best way I can describe it?) Using shorter synths to simulate percussion isn't a bad idea. EITHER WAY, this is all opinion, if your goal was for it to sound smooth, mission accomplished.
By the "synths clashing" some of the pads you used just don't flow well together imo for the way the mix is constructed. Like, it sounds like it's trying to really get energy going but the direction doesn't really agree. If they were smoother and more similar it would flow better.. maybe making a bigger difference in the volume levels would help? IDK.
again though, all of this is opinion. I'm not a professional, I just use FL Studio and am trying to learn myself. I run into similar problems too, trust. Just trying to give feedback LOL.

It's great to have feedback! I use Ableton and Absynth so I come up with the beats on a keyboard I have synched with MIDI. I think you're right that the synth should compliment the beat more. That's probably a key reason why my remix sounds kind of chill. I guess my goal was to get the verse smooth and the chorus a little more dance. Either way, I need to think more of a dance perspective instead of just arranging the song with new chords and a few hooks!
