Six titles projected for 21K-24K. Will be tight.
This past week, the No. 1 album did 40K, so if this coming week's does 40K-45K, we will avoid another SoundScan-era low.
As the article notes, year-to-date album sales are down 13%, so the annual decline continues.

I really hope that The Back Keys pull through and reach the top 10 for another week. How comes the album fares that well after their endless run on #1 on the Alternative charts?
To be honest with you, as a musician/singer I'd rather have the top song on the Country, Rock (Alt, AAA,...) and AC charts (AC, Hot AC, Urban AC) than on the others. Look at Maxwell, Mumford & Sons, Monica, Jack Johnson, Lady A etc. When you actually release a good song/album, those folks are eager to buy your album. Adele is probably the next in line of enjoying stellar album sales.

Hey, HolidayGuy (or anyone else for that matter), do you happen to have the Top 10 from 10 years ago (2001) just to see what the overall percentage drop is? I'm really curious.

For the Billboard dated February 10, 2001, album sales totaled 12.262 million; for the corresponding week in 2000, album sales totaled 11.88 million. Jennifer Lopez's J.Lo album debuted on top with 272,000 units. Shaggy was No. 2, with 214,000.

I don't even think it was half that. lol

I'm a little surprised that Rod Stewart's GH Soulbook album isn't going to make the Top 15.
Pink will hopefully be Top 10! It should be certified Gold any day now.

Who would have thought Nicki's "Pink Friday" would outsell Kanye's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy".

Well, no one, but considering all the facts, it's not a huge shocker. Kanye's public image weakened last year, but even if you don't take that into consideration, Nicki has had more hits from this album so far.
Both albums are doing well anyways, specially by today's standards.

Amos Lee's not far off from setting a record for biggest plunge. Incubus falling to #39 has been the biggest in the Soundscan era, right?
