Does anyone know what the max amount of streaming time is with a free account? I noted on the website that the paid accounts have unlimited streaming and the free one does not. I assume it's a certain number of hours per month but I can't find anything specific. I believe that you get 5 plays of a song per month, and only 20 hours of streaming total per month. But if you were invited, as part of the launch, you get unlimited streaming for the first six months. The only downside I've found so far is the annoying ads. And there's why it won't kill iTunes.

I don't really view this as a replacement for iTunes. Record labels and the government have plans to really crack down on illegal streaming, which could change the availability of music on YouTube. I see this more as a YouTube replacement, plus the quality would be better than the quality of music on YouTube.

For $4.99 a month you get unlimited streaming of as many songs as you want. Much better than iTunes.
Got my invite today. Loving it so far.
The program itself is basically indistinguishable from iTunes, except that every couple songs you have to listen to a quick ad. Haven't used it enough to tell how big the current library is, but it seems pretty substantial.

I've been using it since it launched with the 4.99 no ad unlimited service and I must say I'm impressed. I don't see it as a "replacement" to iTunes but a supplement. I won't be using it to listen to my top favorite artists, but to listen to the music I haven't given consideration into buying yet or have, for whatever reason, choosen not to. Basically a replacement of the music side of youtube as someone already said.
The only thing that baffles me a little is the piss-poor homepage (Or "What's New"). The site has been around and popular for years in other countries, why is it still so amateur? Also finding playlists, from non-facebook friends, should be shown IN the app somewhere. One of their selling points is to "discover new music", and that side is very limiting. Last.fm is still leading in that department.

I think I'm just gonna keep my Rhapsody account. Spotify looks nicer and all but that doesn't matter when they don't have some music that I want to listen. They don't have Adele's 21 or Pink's first album. >:(
