Taylor Swift out of the top 20. I blame that on poor single selection, and she hasn't been doing much promo since the month the album was released.

Nah, Fearless sold like 10x times it's debut week, of course no one was expecting that for Speak Now, but it has had less longevity so far. It did well, but if they actually promoted it after 'Mine', it could have been at least 500/600k higher.

The damn album sold over 3 million! ??? That's a remarkable feat, no doubt, but what I'm ranting about is not total sales. It's someone like Taylor neglecting this era. I don't live in the US nor does she come to tour here in Israel. most, if not all of the info I get about her is from this forum. What I read is almost nothing. No promo, no real hit singles. When you come to think about it, Taylor has sold tremendous amounts of albums, but specifically with her latest one, what impact did she have? Mine flopped and rightfully so - it wasn't good. Then Back to December that even though I like it, is underwhelming copmared to what's out right now. All I want is to know that since she's sold over 3 million albums, she can do nothing. Promote, do whatever - just don't let the weekly sales plummet like this. It hurts me to see that.

I'm surprised how some people are so stressed with Taylor's sales. Mine peaked at #3 and had a 20 week run on the Hot 100, it's not a flop, sure it's not as huge as Love Story and You Belong With Me but the song did just fine. Back to December performed just like how White Horse did. I dunno what's going on with Taylor but isn't she on a world tour or something? She visited my country (The Philippines) a couple of weeks back. Anyway, the fans should relax sometimes an artist (or its management) decides to slow things down because there are instances that ubiquity could just hurt an artist *** Great sales for Lupe Fiasco and wow at Adele, I hope she can still 100k plus next week

I don't understand Taylor this era. Yes, her sales are still extremely fantastic for 2011, hell even the entire span on music period, but she could have done SO much more with this era. Hopefully it isn't too late.
Congrats Adele!!! She is killing it! Even her debut is still selling!!!
and of course Eminem still in the top 20. Has he ever left the top 20 since he made his debut in June 2010?

Is "Mean" the next Taylor single? I saw it re-entered Billboard's country chart.
Lupe came in lower than projected, but still good numbers.

I guess what seems weird to me is how they don't seem to be attacking this era as aggressively as other ones. It almost feels over to me now even though it has only been out for...what? 6 months or less? I feel like she could really get at least one splashy big hit out of this era with the songs on the cd if the right choice is made and very easily sail past 4 million sold.

She's too busy dating. it doesn't matter. It might be good for her. She's still so young that one successful, but "light" era won't hurt her at all.

Exactly. She has so far sold over 3 million, 1 million of which was sold in the first week alone. Swift fans have absolutely no reason to complain about sales. Her sales are absolutely fantastic. People need to be realistic, this isn't going to go 6x platinum like Fearless did. That was a once-in-a-career era.

Yep. I don't get people who think every album someone drops will sell the same thing. That just doesnt happen. Each album is different. No guarantees.

Wasn't she a huge seller back in the days? What a disappointment. First two albums sold really well, then the third one got OK sales but when you see the drop from her previous ones, I don't think it's as surprising as you might think.

The sales in US may be low for Avril but she sold 400K albums worlwide in her first week (second in Japan). Not bad, right ? Almost 310K outside the US and double the amount of Bionic :) (based on their first week sales WW)

I didn't expect Lupe Fiasco to sell that well. Good for Adele!
