That's Miss Scarlett's longevity for you, or lack there of.

Bruno Mars is also off the top 10 after being there for such a long time there with Just The Way You Are and Grenade

Mr. Green may be at #1 for awhile, since she's currently at #2 and #3 on the iTunes chart, and her popularity bars combined put her far ahead of all competition.

i agree for the most part. I'm sick of Firework and Grenade. It's like...play the new stuff already. Tired of the old stuff. I wonder why old songs are kept in such high rotation. Requests and callout numbers can't be that high. It has to be influence.
I wish it was the old days where new songs would skyrocket, old songs would tumble, and there wouldn't be this stagnant, recurrent top 20 playlist that lasts for 9 months.
I agree, enough is enough when it comes to songs being released last year. It's April now. Firework is old news. So are Bruno's first 2 singles. And Taio. Get him out of here.

since an update hasn't come out yet, from UKmix:
2. RIHANNA - S&M: 116.874 (+ 1.371) 8. KATY PERRY - E.T.: 85.217 (+ 2.828)
the gap is now 31.6M.

2nd week for Katy on lock. I think E.T. can manage 4 weeks #1 at least.

i remember when we were all complaining that the remix was taken off itunes. We thought, "what a stupid move! This opens the door for Rihanna! This will peak at #2!"
lol
low and behold, it becomes the most brilliant strategy move of recent years. Totally brilliant. And i'm sure other labels are looking for ways to make remixes to re-create this same event for their single, if and when it comes. But for now, Katy dominates. Rightfully so.
all we have to worry about for right now is the airplay gap between E.T. and S&M, which is 31.6M (and tightening). Katy just needs to sell more than that to be #1 on the hot 100.

I agree, enough is enough when it comes to songs being released last year. It's April now. Firework is old news. So are Bruno's first 2 singles. And Taio. Get him out of here. I think part of it is the fact that the styles/genres of music have been so overlapping over the past few decades. By that I mean, current music styles are more acceptable on HAC and even AC when they didn't use to be. (For instance in the 90s AC wasn't nearly as pop leaning as it is now. Neither was HAC, but the fact that there hasn't been that much of a shift in popular music styles over the past few decades has made it so the age demographics are less separated by musical style) HAC generally hangs on to songs longer and AC is just usually behind. I think something would have to change with radio stations or their formats or whatever for this to change.

i can see Katy At #1 until maybe Judas is released. That's what I was thinking. I think that this will be #1 until a brand new single is released. The current singles could never... Funny how people didn't see this as a #1 yet it might be her longest #1 hit now.

It will outdo TD and maybe Firework, but I doubt it will stay at #1 for much longer than that.

(i hope i'm wrong). but if you are talking about people who first heard the entire "teenage dream" album when it was released, then you're wrong. "E.T." was clearly the most popular song on the album if you can check back at the august posts of last year.

I'm kinda bummed Blow plateaued. It's been really consistent on iTunes, but the airplay is SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW. I wouldn't be surprised if TTWE passes it
