I never realized how much the conspiracy theorists were going after GaGa until I YouTubed "Judas" yesterday. Very interesting opinions.

But wasn't that around the same time people were hailing Peacock as the 4th single? So in that sense, it might benefit Scheibe, since we all want it as the next single, when in fact it might not be. Count me as one of the people that wants "Scheibe" as the next single :)

I just don't get MTN. I really just can't get into it as anything special. On the other hand, I'm almost certain it will be the 4th single because Gaga loves it so much being that she cried the first time she heard it and all.... and as we saw with Alejandro, Gaga seems to get her way over the label most of the time.

Not with this era. Her label took control of the release of this record. She got her way with BTW and Judas, and after they both failed to impress radio listeners, her label rush released this. I don't think she's going to have much say on what her next single is going to be, tbh.

I think the label wants one song, Gaga wants MTN, and the fans seem to want another song. Three different songs and it will be interesting to see which one comes out on top to be the follow-up to EOG. I still just cannot fully see MTN being a hit. I like it, but I feel like it would peak in the 12-16 range and people would forget it before it was even released.

MTN is great but doesn't really hit its stride until the bridge. They need a more instant song for radio, which is Scheisse.

Sure, it hit #1 on Pop but it fell quickly, which is the reason they released Judas so soon, which also plummeted down the charts. I'm not saying BTW was a flop, it certainly gained some ground after she started promoting her record, especially digitally, but again, it wasn't really the big hit she hoped it would be. Not on radio anyway.

People are still determined to call BTW a flop for some reason. Despite getting insanely high airplay, being #1 for tons of weeks, still getting better than expected recurrent play, and not straying far from the top 15 on Itunes since its release in February.

Not on radio anyway. Define massive. It broke records. For a song with a very in your face message, it did quite spectacular. Only GaGa could. :'( Radio isn't everything. When she announced the title to the album and even moreso when she released the song, these words ruled the internet Born This Way.

Her label must be so upset. I am teasing, but it still strikes me as bizarre that so many people on Pulse try to make it out to be a failure. I can guarantee it in a few years when everyone looks back BTW will be pretty much on the same level as Bad Romance/Poker Face/Just Dance.
Now Judas...Judas being a failure is obvious. Yes, it was and Gaga is the one who wanted it.

Because it only hit the top 10 for one week, the week it debuted.

#15 on her home format and a quick drop afterward is hard for me to call anything but a flop especially for a major pop artist. Of course, she still hasn't had one of "those" flops-song from a major artist that somehow only peaks at #39 on pop or something lol.

On the Hot 100, I wouldn't call it a "flop" but more of an under performer.

And her label did take control with the release of EOG based on all this.

You can't just look at a song's peak to determine how well it did. It hit #10 on the Hot 100 in that one 7-day period and it fell from there.
Otherwise, we may as well call Hair an underperformer too because it spent its only week on the Hot 100 at #12.

'Hair' did fantastically for its purpose.
